Compared to today's trucks, it's hard to believe these only had 135 hp. My Dad had one of these new, and he loved it at first. A month or 2 later, he hated it and said it was the biggest POS he ever drove. He hated diesels the rest of his life because of it. So much so, he couldn't believe I got a new LML Duramax in 2013.
Why’d he hate it? It was perfectly normal for a pickup to have 130 horsepower back in the day and the 6.2 was never marketed as a big puller. They were good trucks
@@Hbomb-nm2fv He worked construction, and his company gave him a new truck every year- always with a 350. These things were overloaded and abused as much as any work truck. They had so much weight in them that they were almost on the frame and the tires were bulging. They'd drive hours on the highway every day at max RPM, then idle all day on the job site with no problem. He loved Chevy trucks and the 350 and swore by them forever. When he got one of these diesel trucks, it didn't even last the year. It completely fell apart. He wasn't much of a talker, but he got shaky and red-faced mad whenever asked about it. Who know what happened or why. lol. But don't get me wrong. I like that truck and the Detroit Diesel a lot. They are super cool. That's just my story on these.
A friend of mine who just passed away Saturday has a 1983 3/4 chevy, he bought from his longtime boss, who purchased it brand new in 83, his widow is thinking of selling it to me, as was Dave before he got sick, the problem is, what's the thing Worth he was going to sell it to me for 3,000 he paid 1,500 I'm a commercial truck driver so buying a diesel personal vehicle I was never interested in, the truck is mint, I mean one owner basically my friend never had the chance to get ownership changed I could probably get it for 2,000-2,500 not sure of the mileage what's it worth I have no idea, nice truck you have here man, they are old school the motors growl at ya. Thanks, for Sharing

They come a long way in engines in diesel trucks
Que sonido tan rico!!!!
very beautiful 😍❤ truck
I want it.
Looks like a grandpa one owner, the 6.2 even the 6.5 turbo is underpowered but they get pretty good milage for a full size truck
