Have watched this a hundred times it still affects me deeply
Yes
Yes 🙌 he played his heart ❤️ on this on this live performance. Amazing piano 🎹
Another example of how he could sing anything and it was wonderful
They told Jerry not to do this song, that Judy Garlands version couldn't be beat......well like always the killer blew it right out the roof! And thank god for that
RJ 1999
He doesn’t beat it- it’s a tribute to the one and only.
@DH Amen
@DH killed it!
Because, well he is the killer!
@@frankiebowie6174 Not even close
I love how he can make any song his own...
Rest In Peace!! The world is definitely never going to forget Mr. Jerry “The Killer” Lee Lewis!! He definitely changed my life. 😢 You are going to be missed, thank you for all of your heartfelt songs. The world just lost a huge part of why we have poplar music. The last of a generation. Over the rainbow I hope you found peace
Gt TV why
I agree
Jerry Lee's makes this song come alive. He has God given talent. He makes the piano dance.🙏😎🌵
Someone please play this for me when the Lord decides to bring me home! Long Live The Killer!!!!!
Jerry cuts the guts out of this song- and lays them out for all to see- powerful rendition- pure emotion!!!
One of the most unique versions of this song. Then again, if Jerry Lee does a song, its gonna be unique.
I heard this ONCE on the radio all those years ago....fell in love with it....and it was GONE! I'm so HAPPY I can hear it over and over and over! LOVE DA KILLER!
This is the very best piano rendition of Jerry Lee doing this great hit. For once, the piano track is high enough so you can hear (and see) Lewis' simple, powerful genius on the keys.
@DH Just as he makes it look easy as breathing, the speed, feeling, accuracy and improvisation at that moment he comes into the solo are farthest from SIMPLE. Genius and practice combined with God's almighty gifting of Jerry Lee Lewis's touch, I know to be what you are viewing.
@DH in fact, it's not that difficult to play (simple pentatonic C scale with glissandi). What makes Jerry Lee a genius is his capacity to improvise those unique and powerful solos right on time!
"Somewhere Over The Rainbow" not too many people can sing this song like ole Jerry Lee can, Great. Thanks " rocknrollpianomam" for puttin it out. I have been looken for this song by Jerry Lee for many years, now i have it to hear over and over.
you can purchase it on iTunes, too. I did.
What I like about this video when hes 2:00 hes just focus and playing his instrument That just shows you he doesnt read music that man just plays it like a jazz muscian improvising
Alot of people dont know hes a musical genius he plays violin , guitar, drums , these are the ones that I know about.
Saw Jerry Lee at the Ft. Homer Hesterly Armory in Tampa in 1957!! He tore up that stage and piano with his piano fireworks!! What a great time to be a teenager!!!
I love this now he is over the rainbow good bye Jerry Lee
Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino are the greatest intertainers out there. I listen
to them every day. They both deserve more
recognition.
What a great piano solo, amaising, the greatesr RP Killet
MAGIC!!! No other way to describe his limitless talent.
So damn good. Makes me wanna cry. Love you, Killer.
You can say what you want about him, but his guy was one of the best performers.....ever.
This Guy is Brilliant jerry lee there is no one can come close
This isn't the guy youd expect to do this classic. He nails it.
Absolutely he nailed it.
There is something about Jerry's version of this classic which really fits / it's as if this is how the song should be performed!
The way he pounds out this song on the ivory, wow wish I could has witnessed. Preach brother Jerry.
David Fontenot Sr. Airborne
David Fontenot Sr. Got to see jerry lee lewis live in around 1988 #this guy is the ultimate performer #gives 200 percent
Making it look effortless is the hall mark of a true top notch pro and all around genius.
Nobody can hold a candle to this man!!!! A god givven talent
I want this played at my funeral
WHAT A GREAT CATALOG OF MUSIC JERRY HAS~WILL LIVE ON FOREVER AFTER HE'S GONE!!!
OH MY, his piano ability is too awesome to believe....genius!
Good God CZcams blows my mind. Jerry Lee Lewis has been blowing my mind for forty years. Thanks, killer--and thankyou CZcams!
This is the reason I've always liked Jerry Lee Lewis...
Only Jerry Lee can go over the the top!
Seeing him in person was like watching a mad man who enjoyed his music and really didn't give a damn what the audience thought of it!
Saw him live in 1969....still going strong and only getting better THE "Piano Man"
lucky!
What an amazing pianist!
2 of the greatest musicians together. JLL is great on his own or with whoever, but Kenneth Lovelace is special to and deserves more praise. JLL always seemed to appreciate him.
@@kevineydmann5976 they played together for a lot of years.
what an amazing voice!!
Atti Malambri 001 blows every other performer away in my book
you gotta hear it to believe it . fantastic.
Unbelievably beautiful. I never much cared for this song until now.
One of the all-time (and still-under-appreciated) greats! Thanks for posting.
Best re-interpretation ever. Even with a half shot voice he's better than all the rest. WHAT a solo!
i'd pay to hear him sing the phone book..one of america's greatest natural resources...
Jerry has his own unique style of making every song he sings and plays like no other. Extraordinary talent.
The way he plays is awesome! He's just a true legend....Congratulations man.
Every song he does is great!
O*U*T*S*T*AN*D*I*N*G VERSION. BRILLIANT !
REALLY THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE AWESOMENESS OF THE KILLER....THANK GOD FOR CZcams

Favorite version of this song
He kracks me up..Always the Rebel Smart Ass but no one can do it like him..funny
a national treasure.
Jerry Lee's great here, but that's a given! ;-) I especially enjoy the video how that during the piano break it splits so that both his hands AND face are in the picture. Very, very nice touch
Thanks for sharing.
Amazing how he never gives the same performance of this song....sometimes rockin', sometimes tragic...I like the transparent cynicism of this version.
thumbs up.tho id call it fatalism.
Great version and performance
I've seen him in person no less than five times, first time in 73. This song showcases his ability to do anything good, which is something that fascinates me--he just has a way with a song.
yep its the way he delivers it brilliant.
you wont beat that version
This song make me dream.
He really rocks your soul!
The definition of Inspiration!!!
Beautiful!
Fly high over that rainbow, Killa. We'll miss you.
Just the greatest-period!
JLL, you will definitely make it. Your music heals.
Music to my ears ... ain't that the truth :o) ... have a nice day Jerry Lee.
Jerry Lee is a national treasure
National...international....universal....
I love that look at 2:19 or so. Jerry's saying "you like my playing, huh?"
Jerry Lee rocks!!!!!!!!!!
Jerry lee lewis at his best playing his heart out and showing his talent a self taught piano player who I believe hasnt had the recognition that he deserves yes he has been inducted to the rock n roll hall of fame. But it seems people always talk about elvis the beatles ect but this is a real talent that has been playing for 60 yrs hes now about 71 yrs old and he still playing his heart out God bless
gabe31g wh
The great Kenny Lovelace on violin!
..spit in your face attitude..love it..
to me Jerry Lee is the best there ever was or will be
JLL IS THE REAL KING OF ROCK & ROLL.
Hopefully Jerry you are over that rainbow now
Love all of Jerry Lees songs this one is just beautiful he can take any song and make it is own
The Killer was one of a kind and still is. Taught himself how to play the piano and never learned to read music.
The best rendering I've seen from him of this standard.
Thanks for posting

2:16 /17 The fans applauded 👏👏 him ❤️
Какая прелесть,какой восторг!!!
I love listening to JLL..nobody like . Elvis did play the guitar and th piano. Of coure he couldnt play the piano like JLL but he was very good. Best wishes and Great Balls o Fire!
Just Wonderful
the joint is really jumping down at carnegie hall.
Jerry Lee Lewis could be the pianist than Judy Garland has imagined and dreamt at carnegie hall in 1943
He made it...
MY MAN!!!!!!!!!!!
