      Badass compared to the hilmor? There's a uniweld version as well.. Do you know if one outperforms the other or do you think they're all same?

    Hi, how does this compare to CPS Blackmax and Hilmors equivalent?

  • @gene-khvacr
    @gene-khvacr Před 4 lety +2

    got mine 3 weeks ago used it first time last week the 3/8 don't seem to split as much with these then my old mastercool original 1st gen hydro expander (yes we expand halfway and turn it a bit and expand again)

    Are the heads exactly the same as Hilmor's or different?

    Does this stop expanding once the correct diameter has been reached or do you have to watch it as you pump it to not crack the tube?

    • @HVACKnowItAll
      @HVACKnowItAll  Před 2 lety

      Yes it does, but I still like to ease up near the end.

    Do you have to heat up the copper so it won't crack?

    You have Super Tech 👮‍♂️ to?... 😂. Got ❤ Them bastards! Nice tool, looks familiar to Hilmor and the other cheaper right angle pump up swagger.

    Looks like most hydraulic swagers crack 3/8 copper if not rotated like my YJ.

    • @HVACKnowItAll
      @HVACKnowItAll  Před 4 lety +1

      I tried it both ways, as you saw, didnt crack but I agree with rotating it!

      Also not look circular, i think not good for soft soldering

  • @electrolatif
    @electrolatif Před 10 měsíci

    I can see 3/8 dont look circular, not good for soft soldering. Bit for brazing ok

    Again no 1/4 and no 5/16. Give us a complete kit Hilmor has no knob to mess with

    Nice tool. Will probably buy it but I dont understand the taking it out and spinning it part. I dont feel its necessary. The tool should be expanding the tubing equally 360* around the inside of tubing. Spinning it would be a waste of time

    • @HVACKnowItAll
      @HVACKnowItAll  Před 3 lety +2

      A lot of techs spin it just not to crack the pipe from a stress spot.

    • @FastR1der
      @FastR1der Před 2 lety

      You only spin with a hand swage tool, the point in spending the money on this tool is that you do not have to and save time.

  • @FastR1der
    @FastR1der Před 2 lety

    There's no need to rotate seeing how the hydraulic head equally disperses the pressure.
