I played 10 AP Jax mid games, and in 6 of those the enemy went AFK or never connected (And like 2 of those was other roles not even my lane). Was so frustrating to get good showcases of this champ.

In all seriousness tho it would be kinda interesting if you handicapped yourself (maybe not int but give away like 3-4 waves) I’d be genuinely fascinated by how you come back from behind. And it’d be a good mix up
I calculate full Diana combo, her passive auto Q, W, E twice, R single target. 325% AP Ratio.
Jax has 320% but it's considerably faster (Diana must E twice + wait for the ultimate to pop after her ultimate)
This is only burst as well, doesn't even count how much easier it is for Jax to pull this off, plus his auto damage afterwards outpaces Diana's because of his 3 hit passive turns to 2 hit.

It does seem to play similar to Diana so I'm definitely intrigued. Basically trading a ranged farming/poke tool for more consistent all-ins. Would this work with a more bruiser ap build? Again similar to Diana, with like Demonic + Tank Mythic?
Do you think he would be viable in jungle? He kinda counters a lot of jungle champs

If this doesn’t get nerfed it will be 100% pick ban. But even a nerfed version of AP Jax looks like it could be really fun.
Lux is just a horrible champion. Plenty of actual mid laners would do fine into it.

I used to play AP Jax mid in the beta (after they gutted CDR Zilean). At the time his W was his Q and his Q was his W. And all his skills had 100% AP ratios. People would flame me because he is an "auto-attack Champion" but then I had to explain basic math.
I was so into Jax I offered Riot hundreds of dollars for a custom chroma. They even considered it if I paid a lot more. The awesome player support person I chatted with back then? Skribbles, also known as Alex, who later went on to co-create Arcane.
Reality is pretty crazy sometimes to think I could have had a unique skin from the co-creator of Arcane.
What was the chroma you wanted?
@@patriarchparamour : Oh, I told them I didn't care. Even just an inverted mesh or just random green and pink polka dots would be enough for Jax. Just wanted something unique back in the day. There were only a few thousand players back then. I was number 2352 to join.

I think his w should have at least a small ad ratio. It feels weird that it doesn't have one and I feel like it should
idk as a jax main I feel like the champ already does a LOT of damage (pre rework) because of his R passive. Tho I do agree that it would make him pretty meta cuz more damage = darius and aatrox can't just run you over.

@@vastolord_a7853 it's because it will make him deal more damage overall, because jax builds ad. Currently it does the same damage every time because he doesn't build ad. So an ad scaling would make him do darius levels of burst damage.
What if they made it 30%ad + 30% ap?
@@justindavis6406 ap jax will do less damage but ad jax will do more still. I don't think jax needs any more damage buffs guys lmao he already one shots adcs as it is.

All these point and click champs like Jayce, Irelia, Ekko, Yi, Fizz, Diana and now Jax need to have their gap closers changed to skill shots. So tired of these champs with point and click abilities that either do a crap ton of damage, hard cc like Panth, or set up into easily applied damage. It's one thing if it's Maokai and he just roots you and it isn't burst damage, but this shit is not fun, engaging, or interactive. It's one of the biggest problems League still has yet to fix, or address.
@@xVibra A simple change like that will just allow champs most champs with point and click dashes to be more potent, Jax in particular will be better because he wont have to be in his fixed distance in order to stun you, and he can do it from further away since he can just dash far enough to where his stun circle can be just within range. It also allows him to jump over walls anytime he wants without relying on wards or other targers, meaning he will be way more mobile and can easily pressure the map since he can hop walls with ease.
Champs with point and click dashes are easier to play around, because with enough time played against them you know exactly how far they can go to get to you all the time allowing you to kite easier. I understand what youre getting at, but the suggested changes wont do any good.

i think this would be broken with a rocketbelt rush for the pen and surprise burst and q engage, i think with hail of blades you can q r auto w auto applying your r passive damage twice, and since you have hail of blades it applies really quick.

But some ar- have been changed, like damagewise and stuff so

keep in mind the E does up to double damage for autos blocked, meaning it can have a 200% ap ratio + 4% max health damage. Also your auto attacks still deals your ad as well meaning you can have 420% ap scaling + 4% max hp damage + whatever ad you have. this is well about 3k damage later in the gaem instantly

I was skeptical of the AP changes because in his live version I really enjoyed being an anti-mage with the AP to MR scaling, especially into magic-damage auto attack champions. But he certainly has such an overwhelmingn amount of burst now that it seems he can go full AP assassin or bruiser and still perform admirably. Perhaps even a Divine Sunderer into AP might be interesting.

actually looking over that ult change, could jax hard engage now if he lands a 3 man ult? it looks like they gave E back its old radius too. one thing that always got me to type back was people asking why i wasn't engaging on jax, no one below plat seems to realize, jax isn't a tank, he isnt a hec. hes a flanker, he has to go in SECOND or he stops THEIR engage, he cant take 5 man focus fire any more then renekton could.
so does that change with this ult? if it does that might pull me back in. /sigh.
EDIT: 'point and click Q'! when i was reworking jax in my head, i just made Q a free range dash that has a 3 second CD if it hits a champion. because wasn't qiyana a problem with a point and click dash that followed you with no counterplay? instead we get old E and void staff as a viable item on him? i mean yes it diversifies build paths but doesn't sunderer still give %hybrid pen?

im very certain that when this hits live ap jax will 100% be meta and probably way better than ad jax because of how ap is better in general than ad. I think the meta ap jax build will be Nashors tooth -> Sorcerers -> Riftmaker (Tank counter) -> Shadow Flame -> Zhonyas and last Death Cap. I play currently jax in Jungle and i would definetly just spam him ap 😂

if you wanted a spikier burst you could build lich bane instead of nashor's tooth - you loose 25ap but get move-speed and a 50% ratio on spellblade.

I thought it was on pbe before the start of the preseason and so I thought the change were due for 12.22 (when I played him, still very viable build at the time). I see now that it was for 12.23. It's really strong but you were asking what a lux was supposed to do against a jax dealing a ton of damage, but keep in mind you were 7/0 at that point with 75cs compared to her 50
still, she couldnt do anything to prevent the inevitable from the point and click gap close
@@nu_kercat1 Don't get too close, use your Q or E to prevent him from getting in range if needed.
I mean from the top of my head: Akali, Ekko, Katarina, Yi, Nocturne, Pantheon, Rengar, Talon, Wukong are going to do the same at that point, some even better and there are enough among them that have a point and click gap closer.

The most entertaining part of the video was when Jax entered a defensive stance for up to 2 seconds, dodging incoming attacks and taking 25% less damage from area of effect abilities. Also I liked how after 2 seconds or recasting, Jax dealed 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 (+0.5 per bonus attack damage) physical damage and stuned nearby enemies for 1 second. And all that while also dealing 20% increased damage for each attack Jax dodged (Max increase of 100%). Truly a piece of art.
and they destroyed ap zeri because "game-breaking", now seeing this makes me laugh
