      Some vocaloid I recommend is Doki Doki Yuri Garken (A love song between Hatsune Miku and Rin!) Solitary Hide-and-Seek Envy (Sung by Hatsune Miku), MikuFiesta (Which is mostly sung in Spanish which is surprising since Miku doesn't have a Spanish voicebank yet)!!!

      id look up top 100 vocaloid songs cause it does a pretty good job of laying out the songs that got vocaloid popular amongst english speakers.
      I personally recommend leave in summer yet you're still in my fluff thoughts. its real good and kinda jazzy. some classics that fed the fandom is The world is mine (hatsune miku), Melt (hastune miku), Panda hero (gumi), Worlds end dancehall (Miku and Luka i think), also Rolling girl (miku) and Daughter of evil (Kagamine Rin).
      The song you're probably finding familiarities to is The disappearance of Hatsune Miku, which is regarded as one of the fastest songs made by the fandom but there are some that are faster and have a higher BPM.
      A lot of Vocaloid songs tell stories, so if you listen, please read the lyrics. You'll never know what kind of story you'll get. Theres whole series in the fandom told entirely through song like a musical.
      Some of these stories are pure fantasy and some of them are based on Japanese urban legends. A lot of the music from the early days of vocaloid were horror themed and were expressions that could be believed to be stemming from the crushing side effect of living under the brutal social expectations of japan. Contamination, Ones lost weeping, and i guess you could argue Rolling girl, kind of illustrates this.
      You'll start to see a defining theme once you get into it.
      Theres of course a lot of songs about love and friendship too, like Melt, Hello How are you, Just be friends, Electric Angel, and Reverse Rainbow, to name a few haha.
      I been in the fandom for too long

  • @nocteratea77
    @nocteratea77 Před 9 měsíci +209

    Hi!! I'm a long time vocaloid fan, and it's nice to see someone else picking up an interest in it. I don't play muse dash, but you look like you're really good at it, I applaud how many songs you full comboed on your first try. I assume plenty of non vocaloid fans will see this comment, so to all of those people, here's some context on the songs they added in this collab.
    The first song is 39みゅーじっく! or 39 Music! by Mikito P. This was made as the theme song for the Vocaloid concert Magical Mirai, specifically it's 2016 showing. The number 39 is associated with Miku because in Japanese three can either be read as san or mi, and nine can be read as kyuu or ku. So 39 sounds like either "sankyuu" or "miku". Mikito P himself has been making (generally rock) music with Vocaloid since 2010.
    The second song is Hand in Hand by kz, which was made for Magical Mirai 2015. kz is one of the earliest Vocaloid producers, helping define how producers made music with Miku with his song Packaged, releasing just 21 days after Miku herself was released. He makes pretty exclusively electropop or other similar sounding genres.
    The third song is シニカルナイトプラン or Cynical Night Plan by Ayase. He's one of the newer producers on this list, starting in just 2018. You probably know him best as one half of the musical duo YOASOBI, who made Into The Night, or, more topically, Idol, the extremely famous opening to the anime Oshi no Ko. Before all of that Ayase was just some Vocaloid Producer, and he still is. Cynical Night Plan itself is something called Yakousei (genre wise), and was released in 2020.
    The forth song is 神っぽいな/God-ish by Pinocchio P. It's a a very nihilistic song about...something. The lyrics are very squishy. Pinocchio P got started way back in 2009, and currently holds position as one of the two most generally popular producers, along with DECO*27. Almost all of his songs get more than 1 million views nowadays, God-ish just happens to be his most famous, released in 2021. Pinocchio P is known for weird and existential lyrics more than anything, but he also has a distinctly artificial tuning style that's very easy to recognize.The version in game is cut down
    The fifth song is ダーリンダンス/Darling Dance by Kairiki Bear. This song was released in 2020, and is also Definitely About Something. I don't feel like a second hand explanation would do these lyrics any justice, I recommend just looking it up. This song was made by Kairiki Bear in unofficial celebration of Miku's 13th birthday. Kairiki Bear got started in 2011 and is known for making cynical minor key digital rock. The version in game is cut down.
    The sixth song is 初音天地開闢神話/Hatsune Creation Myth by cosMo. This was made for the 2021 showings of Magical Mirai. CosMo got started way back in 2007 and got really famous really early on, and he makes fast music. That's his whole thing. Lots of fast music. He's in like every rhythm game ever and in all of them his songs are impossible. I have no other meaningful commentary on this. The version in game is cut down, thank god.
    The seventh song is ヴァンパイア/Vampire by DECO*27. This song was released in 2021, and is Deco's most popular song. Not an easy feat, since he started in 2008, and is one of the most consistently popular producers I can think of. He's made like seven super well known songs that all equally deserved a spot in the game, but Vampire was probably picked for being the most topical one. It makes sense to compare it to Darling Dance, as they're both influenced by the Landmine Type/Jirai kei troupe. Look it up if you're curious. Deco makes music all things rock. The version in game is cut down.
    The eighth song is フューチャー・イヴ/FUTURE EVE by sasakure .uk. This song was made as the theme song for Magical Mirai 2022/Magical Mirai 10th anniversary. It's a hopeful song that plays lyrical homage to countless other Vocaloid songs, and is one of my personal favorites. Sasakure is just a good composer in general, making chiptune influenced music since 2007, best known for TONDEMO-WONDERZ and *Hello, Planet.
    The ninth song is Unknown Mother Goose by wowaka. This song was made in 2017 in unofficial celebration of Miku's tenth birthday (kind of), and is about wowaka's complicated feelings toward Vocaloid. wowaka started making minor key rock music with sad and conflicted lyrics in 2009, and rocked the Vocaloid world as he did it. His song Rollin' Girl forever changed the Vocaloid scene, and in 2011 released an album called Unhappy Refrain with most of his songs on it, before retiring as a producer altogether. He continued making music with his band Hitorie. In 2019 he passed away due to acute heart failure. His music videos all had monochrome color palettes, and in both Unhappy Refrain and Unknown Mother Goose, the music video consisted of a gray and white heart over a white background. The last note in the muse dash chart resembles these. The version in game is cut down.
    The tenth song is 春嵐/Spring Storm by John. This is an electro drug song made in 2019, the same year John got his start making experimental electronic music. The non Miku vocals are sampling. Gonna be totally honest I've never actually sat down and listened to this song despite meaning too for years so I cannot confidently tell you if this is cut down or not. I don't think it is, based on the duration I have pulled up.
    Fun fact! The reason so many producers end their names in -P has to do with Idolmaster. Vocaloid first got popular on the Japanese video sharing site nico nico douga, and at the time it did, it was popular alongside Touhou and Idolmaster. Idolmaster fans used to stick -P on the end of their name to stand for "producer" ( as in, a producer of an idol group), and it carried over into Vocaloid. Producers used to get their P names separate from their usernames as given by fans in reference to their songs, and producers would "know they'd made it" when they were granted their p name. I hope that description is not too unclear and reliant on your pre-existing knowledge of everything else in this paragraph.

The version we're familiar with is an utau cover, but the original was Miku) back in 2018, and first got REALLY into it around 2021. some music recommendation!! sorry for my autism in advance
    anything by kikuo, like 'Song of the night' (yoru no uta); 'I'll forgive you even if you die'; 'hole-dwelling'; 'shikabane no odori' (dance of the corpses); 'the good child and fox spirit'; 'Aishite aishite aishite'; 'Kara kara no kara'.
    PinocchioP (my current favorite artist istg he only makes bangers), like 'Nice to meet you Mr. Earthling'; 'God-Ish' (the one you played in the video, he made it); 'Cosmospice'; 'slowmotion'; 'kodomo no shikumi' (i suppose the translation would be What are children made of (most accurate methinks)); 'I'm glad you're evil too' (one of my FAVORITES, it's so beautiful); 'apple dot com'; 'Common world domination'; 'non-breath oblige'.
    siinamota (or powapowap) (rip), some songs are 'Young girl a' (which tiktok just fucked the song up, fuck tiktok), 'Please give me a red pen' (after 30 minutes or something the song was posted, he was found dead, it wasn't shared but it's most likely suicide, the meaning of writing your name in red ink in japan means deadly bad luck, because it's the color which they write dead people's names, adding a lot more sadness and power to the song); 'goodbye everyone' and 'Q'.
    wowaka (my first artist obsession i love this man so much) (rip), he also had his own band (named Hitorie) after leaving vocaloid for a while, which also made a lot of good songs, and his own voice is so good, some Vocaloid songs are 'Into the grey zone' (his first song ever afaik, this man started on a banger already), his most famous songs are 'Rolling girl' (my favorite song for YEARS, i love how chaotic and beautiful it sounds at the same time); 'Two-faced lovers' (uraomote lovers); 'Unknown Mother Goose' (you played it in your video as well, another one that was my favorite for 1 or 2 years, it's the last vocaloid song he made before he died, it's absolutely beautiful, the song that is); 'Unhappy refrain' (came before Unknown mother goose but it's essentially the same subject as, but it sounds more... filled with anger?).
    some other songs that i love:
    'Lost one's weeping' and 'Tokyo teddy bear' (both by Neru), Maretu's songs like 'coin locker baby', 'Roki', 'Hachi' (who has stopped making vocaloid songs and now is known by Kenshi Yonezu, yes THE kenshi yonezu started out in vocaloid), some of his songs are 'Donut Hole' and 'Matryoshka', some sasakure.uk songs such as 'Negaposi*continues'; 'totemo wonders' and 'Hello, Planet', Eve (who nowadays sings his songs himself) and his song 'Dramaturgy' (there's a Miku ver. and him singing ver.), some UtsuP song such as 'Living ghost is alive', 'Happppy song' by SOOOO (spoiler, it's not a happy song, i LOVE how chaotic and noisy it is), 'Skeleton Orchestra and Lillia' by Tohma (one of my top favorites, also miku looks so cute in the mv), Reol (same as eve), 'Cantarella', 'Kokoro', 'Patchwork Staccato', 'Dye', 'Leia', 'Pallete', 'Megane', 'Hello Worker' (made by the guy that drew miku for the first time, KEI, he still makes miku drawings and his art got so much better), 'Ghost Rule', 'Denparadigm', 'The Fox's Wedding' (tw for very heavy subjects, it's a part of a series of songs, like a saga), 'eh? ah yes', 'Ohayo-del' (sounds silly and cute heehee), 'Blessing' (very wholesome), '+danshi' by reol (song about Len being horny, i find it funny), 'The disappearence of Hatsune Miku', 'The intense voice of Hatsune Miku' (which i think it's the song you mentioned you might've head of before), 'Double Lariat', 'Absolunote', 'Bitter Choco Decoration', 'Karakuri Pierrot', 'Tengaku', 'Blackjack', 'Snowman', 'Knife'

    • @itisirandom
      @itisirandom  Před 9 měsíci +2

      For what it offers, and for how much (like $2.99 for the base game, $35 for Muse Plus, and like $8.99 for the large scale DLCs), I’d 100% recommend it. The game itself is super fun, with a lot of high quality content in it, as well as more content on the way.

  • @K3ArtTime

    I’m sorry, but the songs that they chose are definitely not highlight songs from the specific program of Miku. And actually, I was on the brink of quitting music dash and literally did after this patch went through because it was not worth it anymore, especially since the devs won’t even fix the rest of their songs

    • @itisirandom
