    the one thing that bothers me is that I want the silver coloured bezel but you can only get that with a white polymer casing in saphire. otherwise you need to drop down to the SS model and i am not willing to pay that much for a screen that's going to be less durable. really not fond of the darker Ti bezel. If the wife wouldn't divorce me id look at marq2 adventurer for this very reason (and you know , shiney). I should point out, that the white looks less jarring with the nice strap you have.

    • @ChristianRunsNY
      @ChristianRunsNY  Před rokem

      Yea I'd prefer the black body too for the watch but the white was the only one at the time. I agree with the white band it's very activity focused and not as subdued for daily wear. The silver does pop

    I’m a double wrister. Apple Ultra on one and Garmin Epix on other. I share my Garmin info in Apple Health so if I go somewhere nice or don’t want to wear both then I take off the Ultra as all my data goes over to Apple Health. I definitely run in both because I can take calls or make calls while I’m wearing the Ultra. I like the emergency functions If the Ultra if I need to call or sound the siren. I sleep in both also because Apple is more accurate.

    I thought the point of garmin was navigation. Nobody should compare garmin to apple. They're on completely different fields. I have a Fenix 5x and a tactix delta. I'm not into fitness. I use the watches to mark way points and track my rides or adventures. The "fitness tracking" is just an added feature that I take with a grain of salt. I'm on the fence between the Fenix 7 and the epix. Battery life is important because I don't like to take it off and charge it frequently, not because I'm taking 4 day hikes. Not sure about the screen in bright light. I work outside all day every day and I don't know if the epix will be good. I'm drawn to the fancy display but it's important to me to be able to glance at the watch and see the time or a notification without dropping what's in my hands to do so, otherwise why have a watch.. I can drop everything and reach for my phone. Not everything is cut and dry. To be honest, this wasn't a very good review and had almost no useful information. Really showed nothing unique to the watch and only things that apply to garmin in general, while comparing garmin to apple.
    If you reply to this comment, I won't see it. Not trying to offend anyone, just sharing my opinion since I gave you my time to watch this video. You're welcome.

    • @ChristianRunsNY
      @ChristianRunsNY  Před 3 měsíci

      Garmin has navigation but it definitely is not most people’s go to use case. Also I’d argue you’re into fitness in the sense of what Garmin is for getting out on adventures.
      To me, yea Apple is a smart watch and Garmin makes durable outdoor gear, in the form of tech, still with more of a focus on getting outdoors and making fitness stats look meaningful.

    • @ChristianRunsNY
      @ChristianRunsNY  Před rokem +2

      I had apple fitness plus free for a year I guess with the AW7, it's more of a training class type thing right? Never noticed additional metrics or training status, just that it was a sort of training buddy? I think it's a really nice touch for a ton of people who want or need that class type setting. It wasn't a watch feature to me though since I also could just use it on Mac.

      Unfortunately I forgot to set it to the dual band you get with the sapphire, but honestly it did okay overall. I was consistently like .4 miles off after mile 1 and that long underground section. I don't think any GPS in the world that fits in a watch will overcome the first tunnel fully. It's just too far underground and the land above has skyscrapers to top it off. But with All Systems and then Dual Band on top, I think the rest of the race can be very accurate.

    • @ChristianRunsNY
      @ChristianRunsNY  Před rokem

      If your main focus is golf, definitely go with the s70. It will automatically mark fairways hit and stuff like that by gps location of the next swing. Cool little golf focused features like that.
      Overall no Garmin is quite a smart watch like say an Apple Watch. They really are a different category of a sports and activity tracker. But the health stats are way more meaningful on Garmin than Apple if that’s more where you are leaning than an extension of your phone.

      @ChristianRunsNY  Před rokem +1

      It sounds like you’ve done the research so the pick is yours now.
      I always end up back on Garmin over AW. It is a far superior activity tracker imo. No matter what the sleep tracking and other data is inaccurate with the wrist alone. All the data you mention are really just through HR readings and then also looking at gps pace. Best getting a chest strap if you really care about that data a lot, and Garmin connects to many just fine for that extra accuracy.

      On the other hand, for a newer runner it is a handy tool to find what works without years of knowledge. Sensors are far from bad if you try it as I have, and for me, if I'm going to buy a watch, I like this over something else I may buy, it's just preference and nobody is telling you that you have to try it.
