    Cary I just watched your seatbelt toss today and was blown away at your fluidity and precise understanding of; pressure sensitivity, leverage and position. I'm a huge fan of your teaching method and insane skill level. As an MMA instructor even at 50 I still aspire to have a far greater physical understanding of wrestling and its instruction and your stuff is an incredible resource.

    On whether this move is legal or illegal (folkstyle):
    1. Biggest factor is what part of his body he lands on. Head means it's probably illegal. Shoulder or arm probably means its legal.
    2. Equally important is the ref. He/she will decide whether or not the move is legal based on proper execution or not.
    3. Last but not least this move will LOOK illegal based on the amount of back arch put into it, which more often than not will influence the call by the ref. My coach was a freestyle state champion and he says he got called for moves similar to this simply because they looked illegal, not because they were illegal.
    All in all I believe this move is completely legal. The refs most likely would not have a problem with it. It is basically a shot with the addition of a wicked mat return finish.

    • @adventuresdowninthehollow205
      @adventuresdowninthehollow205 Před 5 lety +1

    @Issac... remember that the rule in folk style is that your feet have to be on the mat while executing any kind of throw. Such is the case with this seat belt toss.

    0:46 - 0:48 the fluidity of the moves, looks like it came straight out of street fighter

    This technique is fire 🔥🔥🔥 Im going to add this into my single leg game. Are you looking for them to be moving their weight forward and trying to "put on the boot" ? Does it matter if their weight is shifted back?

    • @KOLATCOM
      @KOLATCOM  Před rokem +2

      With one leg in the air it's hard for someone to shift their weight. After you climb up the leg and grab the waist you will step in front to create an angle and this will cause the weight shift necessary to load them up for launch. Focus on drilling this transition for a smooth throw.

    Good set up and Technique. In Judo when leg goes into my groin, i step out freeing the opponents leg, grab @ the ankle heel area, and throw it high above his shoulder forcing him to fall back. Just like in this video, I don't fight with opponents leg. I find leverage apply my technique and execute. This is an alternative to what I use. I'll try it next time in my work out when the opportunity presents itself.

    I fell in love with this throw the first time I saw it.
    The 283 dislikes are people who have no defense against a inside single leg besides a whizzer. You're ruining their game, Cary. Bathe in the glory!!
