- Our recent trek around the Gillespie Pass Circuit and up to the lakes of the Upper Wilkin Valley was an ultimate highlight from our travels in New Zealand. In the heart of Mt. Aspiring National Park, this adventure took us through amazing glacial carved valleys, across the stunning Gillespie pass and into the the restorative beauty of Lakes Crucible, Diana, Lucidus, and Castalia. I cannot recommend this trip enough. It was mind blowing and on par with the epic scenery of the Milford Track and every other Great Walk that we've done.

🤣🤣🤣🙌🤙
WOW Thanks for a wonderful hike. I so enjoyed it as I will never go there myself. What a great video. Thanks again to you and your wife for being so adventurous.
She's the best!
Some people look for a beautiful place, others make a place beautiful.
This is how we feel watching your wonderful video....thanks for sharing dear friend!!!!
🙏thanks so much
I want snowberries! 🤣 Magical place indeed.
🙏🙌🤙 truly amazing
This is heaven, New Zealand is so special, the jungle looks like some part of the tropical jungle, but cold! and the fantail is so friendly
So true indeed
Yes Fiordland is not fior the fleight hearted.
@warrenheslip692 this is in Mt Aspiring National Park not Fiordland
Thanks so much Jesse. Just so lucky to travel with you via screen mirroring on the TV.
Wow!!! All the lakes were PROFOUNDLY beautiful. And how many people get to go there each year? Possible a handful or less, because they are off the beaten track. I would wish to have the strength to do that. I did a lot of hiking while living in New Zealand, mostly around Arthur’s Pass area. And that was over 30 years ago. Time just flys.
You have such presence of mind to not go with the flow but to seek the hidden magic. Thanks again. Simply brilliant.🙏🙏
So happy to hear that you enjoyed this one. It was one of my favorite adventures in NZ.
Your wife is a champ!!! Love your videos too!!
My favorite CZcamsr is back at it with another banger. Let's go!
🙌🏴☠️🤙thank you bro
Beautiful video Jesse 😊❤☀️ loved the lakes, amazing how clear the water was and the color 😍 thank you for sharing! Sam is a trooper 😄 you trying to film her! Take care 🤗❤🙏
She's the best!! It was an amazing experience
This was Epic. I watched this video over 3 days due to stuff, but finally got it all in. What an excellent adventure, Jesse and Sam. Thanks for sharing another one. Some beautiful views and scenery all around. Loved it.
Thanks Jim, I always wonder if the longer ones will get watched. Glad to hear that it kept you engaged.
@@JesseStLouis I would have watched it through if I could have. It was engaging. Thanks again.
Another beautiful video Jesse! Thank you! This area seems unknown to most Kiwis yet it is as grand and beautiful as any other area.
One of my favorite multi day hikes
Oh my! Could that trip be any more magical?! Your videos fill me with absolute joy,& this one was exceptional! Parts of that walk look quite otherworldly which I had not noticed before. Sam seems like a sweetheart. She speaks on some of your canyoning vids which has been great, which we’ve greatly enjoyed.Anyhow,we are who we are...
And jeez mate, you defo sounded like a dyed in the wool bloke from “Straya”! Good on yer cobbler.Fab vids.
Thanks Roz!!
Baeutiful !! Nothing better than nater ......
It was so peaceful
Love ya Sam! You get so into it.
Amazing journey....
It sure was
Those alpine lakes! 😍😍😍
So stunning
Aqua Jesse always finds the water, great video jesse
You got that right!
May I ask have you ever heard or seen any thing strange or out of the ordinary especially at night on your travels?
Just possums before I knew what they sounded like
@@JesseStLouis xD lmao they make some weird noises thats for sure
Such a beautiful video! Did you pass good campsites along the way? I dont see myself using huts...
There's definitely some good spots for tent camping along the way
Another magic video on some magic days bro. You mentioned the track is up with Milford Track. Would you say from your experience in NZ so far that the Milford Track is the pinnacle?
for me, i think this one and Kepler were the pinnacle. i mentioned Milford because a lot of people feel that it is the best. It's good, but this was special.
A great one Jesse. Which one do you think bettee this circuit trip or The Milford Track, i only can chooss one 😅😅. Cheers.
That's tough. Probably will see less people on this on but can't go wrong with either one. They're both beautiful.
Oh shit you have,it down how new Zealand peeps talk
lol
How exactly do first come first serve huts work? What if you arrive and it's full?
It depends if it's in season and there's a hut warden there. A cool warden might let you crash on the floor of the common area. But otherwise, you better have a tent. Out of season with no warden, I've seen plenty of people crash on the floor.
Most of the huts and tracks were provided by and for the cullers/hunters to control deer and goat population explosions around NZ wild country 60 years ago, its only been in the last 15 years or so that a lot of them have been upgraded for tourists/trampers.
Yip your right about dairy and stock ....
New Zealand is absolutely so beautiful. Have you visited any of the Maori Indegious Polynesian tribes yet?
Yes
I think there is a law against stock being near rivers now. Shit where you want though, just downstream from where i'm filling up my drink bottle
🤣🙌
She did it 😅😅😅
oh yeah!
Mushrooms 🍄 🍄
Your wife ,🤣😂,triping on mushrooms 🍄
i love how your kiwi impersonation sound's like an ozzy, had me cracking up thinking your taking the piss out of those backwards bloody aussies. great entertainment, thank you 👍
🙌🤙🤣
😂🤣🤣
As a proud Kiwi I say get rid of the diary industry
Do you mean the farting of Jason rupp lmao
No, his farting is an intoxicating melody that gently caresses one's ears to slumber as if resting on an angel's wings
Lmao Jesse, no homo
🤣
That farmers going down👎
Doubt it
It's not the freedom campers that shit in the woods so much as the ones that do so on the beach and even (it was caught on security camera) on the street in the middle of the city. Ewww! - That one made the news!
for every 1 freedom pooper, there's literally 1000 free cow poopers😂
Freedom camper complaints are due to some campers leaving shit in open places, not burying it, where a lot of other people frequent, and they drop toilet paper on the ground which can blow all over the place. It is unhygienic, looks disgusting, stinks and is generally disrespectful to others - the complaints about freedom campers IS warranted.
Of course it is, but so are the concerns about stock runoff
Not even close to the best hike... decent tourist hike ... as if nz needs more tourists...
Don't worry, when I come back I'll be making more videos about all the best non tourist hikes
Cool vid mate, but I have seen why people want to control freedom camping, 1= carparks and rest areas cram packed with freedom campers so that nobody can park there, seen that, 2= shitting right at the edge of said car parks and rest areas, seen a lot of that as well, just lazy people who can't be bothered to take the time to bury there shit, just disgusting toilet paper and shit on the edge of every carpark/camping area,,,,lazy. even seen them shitting in the gutters in the street because they are too lazy to go and use the supplyed public toilets,,,, no thanks,,,,there was way to many freedom campers here, NZ is only a small country.
