Danny Brown - ‘Ain't It Funny’ Lyrics:
Verbal couture
Parkour
With the metaphors
The flow house of horror
Dead bolted with metal doors
Grinch bitch
Six sense
With a nose drip
Mind skydive
Sniffing bumps
In the cockpit
Locksmith of Hip Hop
Appraisal the wrist watch
The rocks bout the size
As the teeth in Chris Rock's mouth
Sock out the mic
Prototype for Adderall
Your work killing fiends
Cause you cut it with Fentanyl
So much coke
Just to sniff need a ski lift
Flip your table over
If you cut it with the bullshit
Nose bleeds red carpets
But it just blend in
Snapping pictures
Feeling my chest being sunk in
Live a fast life
Seen many die slowly
Unhappy when they left
So I try to seize the moment
Funny how it happens
Who ever would imagine
That jokes on you
But Satan the one laughing
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
I can sell honey to a bee
In the fall time
Make trees
Take back they leaves
Octopus in a straight jacket
Savage with bad habits
Broke serving fiends
Got rich became a addict
Ain’t it funny how it happens
Who would ever would imagine
Nose running right now
Could ya pass me a napkin
Managed to somehow
To have the upper advantage
Panic when the drugs are gone
And nobody is answering
Ain’t it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
No way to mask it
A lot became has beens
Rolling up that 100 dollar bill
Till they cash in
Thinks it gone last
Going too fast
Man it's fucked up
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happen
Upcoming heavy traffic
Say ya need to slow down
Cause you feel yourself crashing
Staring in the devil face
But ya can’t stop laughing
Staring in the devil face
But ya can't stop laughing
It’s a living nightmare
That most of us might share
Inherited in our blood
It's why we stuck in the mud
Can’t quit the drug use
Or the alcohol abuse
Even if I wanted to
Tell you what I’m gonna do
I’ma wash away my problems
With this bottle of Henny
Anxiety got the best of me
So popping them Xannies
Might need rehab
But to me that shit pussy
Pray for me y’all
Cause I don't know what coming to me
Bought a 8 ball of coke
And my nigga on the way
Got 3 hoes with him
And they all tryna play
Ain't it funny how it happens
Who ever would imagine
Jokes on you
But Satan the one laughing
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it

the drum beat and Danny's flow remind me of Wesley's Theory by Kendrick Lamar. Danny said he listened to the album a lot when it came out so I think it kinda makes sense

"He's DYING and you people are LAUGHING. You DISGUST me." - This Fucking Kid, a.k.a., Kid, 2017.
Again, that depends on where Phoenix remains this year in the NBA Draft. My question, though, is who's the best trade partner for a realistic trade involving him?
I'd keep him for when Booker reaches his full potential
IntoTheVoid - NBA basketball :D
More specifically, the 2017 NBA Draft and certain situations that relate to the Phoenix Suns during that time. (Mainly in the question on whether they should trade Eric Bledsoe or not?)
right, so to get back on subject, my opinion is that it really depends on just how serious the management/front office are to trying to get a championship. Bledsoe is a wildcard every season when it comes to injuries and just reached his prime now, the longer we hold him the lower his value becomes. I believe the sooner they trade him the better.
Unfortunately for me too as i have really become a huge fan of his. But i want my Suns to have the best possible team.

This song is absolutely addictive. The beat is so aggressive. I wouldn't call it scary, but it induces this feeling, the feeling like everyone in the room is running for their lives. Like everyone's in an airtight sealed bunker and it's starting to flood with water. It's just so great.
"This song is absolutely addictive" no pun intended

I was jamming this song a lot when I was in the worst parts of my life, dealing with depression and an addiction. Having lots of fun, but also destroying myself. Numbing out to life and everything around me. Lots of great lyrics that stick out to me. Great track wich is kind of strange for me to listen to now as emotionally it reminds me of my chaos days, but still very entertaining to listen to.

Haley Harris you're not getting enough recognition for that
God damn, on the charts for best hip-hop video ever made. What the fuck, that was pure genius Danny & Jonah!
And now he's directing Mid90s. Can't wait to see it after revisiting this gem of a video.
Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen are real Hip Hop heads. More than once they told in interviews how they love the Wu Tang Clan or Big L for example
Jonah's earlier days may be enveloped in awful coming of age comedies, but he's actually been involved with some pretty great stuff lately.
Most rappers make drugs and dangerous lifestyles seem fun. Usually it’s a flex on the listener.
Then there’s Danny, who is begging for help but still indulging in his bad habits. It’s a cautionary tale for the listener.
This is an artistic masterpiece man. Danny deserves so much more attention. He got fans but he needs to be international. Fucking artist
I am from an African Nation and I stumbled on it when listening to alt rock nd I love him
I don't think you know what "international" means.
I thought you said autistic for a good 3 minutes and just stared there puzzled

I think this video explores how self destructive behavior by an artist is glorified and is seen as for entertainment rather than viewing it as possible cry for help
I aggree. Some of these new hip hop/rap with all these "depressed" characters are just diluting the people that are actually depresed. Its a front so that it seems that they are relatable but in reality its just a brand to make people listen to their music. Really makes it hard to find people that need legitmate help.
@@Nexus74566 Not necessarily, some of them seem to have genuine problems going on with their lives. Even Lil Pump has said some suicidal things a couple of times in a cry for help, but no one cares.
dis video creepy
sonikku956 I don’t think it’s that no one cares. It’s that no one takes it seriously because some artist may say edgy things to get fans and may not mean it.

3:13 “I’m glad you found my pain entertaining.” That line summed up this whole video. 👏🏾

This video got me like eight different types of fucked up
danny brown is a fucking genius
agreed, his sound is hypnotic
If "Too Many Cooks" was a rap song.
damn, this song was written perfectly for twomad
he is basically saying that all problems that he have people dont give a fuck and take it as entertainment
Foreign Heat no he is saying ALL THESE PROBLEMS PEOPLE HAVE AND THE WORLD SEES IT AS ENTERTAINMENT. ITS NOT JUST HIM
That was pretty clearly stated in the video
Foreign Heat and that all people have problems, but reducing that statement to platitudes solves nothing and keeps the wheel of shit going. It's the equivalent of someone addressing a problem with America and being told 'if you don't like it, move elsewhere'.
Foreign Heat oh you can read too? yeah i read that too.
Foreign Heat no shit. You're acting as if it was some hidden message. It's not a secret that's what he's saying. Good job figuring out a message in a music video without even having to scratch the surface tho. Must've took some brain power to figure that riddle out.
I’m glad Danny hasn’t “Died Like A Rockstar” but very sad Mac did. We need to take substance abuse and depression more seriously. Seems like every rapper is drug addicted, depressed, and borderline suicidal nowadays. Very sad state of affairs for the hip-hop culture. Be well Danny, Hot Soup, Old and XXX have gotten me through some extremely dark times.
DANNY BROWN, KID CUDI, PLAYBOI, UZI, PLZ STAY SAFE

Artists like this deserve an actually good life, at least a decent one, and the kind of fame where more people know his name. Actual access to the help they need and fans trying to be supportive, and many other things shouldn’t be so little. Not even just artists deserve care. I think it shouldn’t be so goddamn common to think life is a joke, to be abused or be a substance abuser, be treated like shit for not being a stereotype but then also being too close to a stereotype/not good enough, and so on.

This is one of those songs that I hate to listen to, but I love that it exists. Not at all an easy listening track, but it's saying what needs to be said about society.
The answer that the dad gives "none of us feel okay" is the unraveling of the concept of this video. The reason why they are ignoring Danny's problem is because they dont know how to help, so they ignore him and lie to them themselves to feel a little better, but the creepy part is that they are all a family and share one thing: They are all fucked up. Thats why they hang out with Danny when he is doing drugs. Danny is the "Real" and Woke version of his family. He notices more in-depth what his struggles and demons are and is striving to overcome them but fails due to lack of help, meanwhile the family is so fucked up and deep in the hole that they dont even know where ro start to help THEMSELVES. So they are oblivious to everything. Even the ones closet to them. It gets deep and as you can see its a real dark concept. Quite like Bojack Horseman
