Great video mate I've not had any of your videos in about 4 months and when I've looked today CZcams has unsubscribed me from your videos. On the plus side that's my night sorted watching all your videos I've missed. 👍
Shakespeare originally an American company I think became Norris Shakespeare in UK when they bought out some good old English tackle companies in the 70s. I suspect that reel dates from the very early 80s or late 70s. A 2306 RL, convertible as you can swap handle to other side for lefties probably made in Japan? Rod has a Fuji reel fitting, the business in the 80s for some. The rod looks nice spigot joint ? Fuji lines rings ? I bet the rod could have a refurb and still do well !. NICE TO SEE THE VID !!!
ello mate old skool when we was young mine was milton creek and swale kings ferry good times back to basics that old rod looks like a shakespeare me mates got one just same good video rhys chat soon mate take care
So glad to see you are still uploading Rhys. This was the first Fishing channel I ever subscribed to and the videos with you and the boys really inspired me to get out fishing my local beaches with my dad. Was always looking for something I could get out and do with my old man and you helped me to find just that. So no matter what direction you decide to go with your channel I will always be very grateful for the videos 😁 Even if you do go puddle chucking every other video from now on🤣 cheers for all the entertainment mate and long may it continue!! (Hopefully)!!
I use to live nect to Douglas Harbour on the isle of man, similar fishing it was a good variety of species but use to get hammered by pin whitening but also got codling huss mackerel and a few other species dotted about, its a great spot gets busy in the summer and basics are fun.
Good to see you back with a few videos for fresh water you should be getting deadbait rods for pike perfect time off year good to see you out and getting a couple off nice little ones tho keep at it mate can’t wait till next one
Compare and contrast this video, full of cheerful banter, decent location, productive, just around the corner so low cost and convenient, to your expensive, time consuming, long distance travel trips which have often been tiring to you and cold, wet, windy and miserable because you didn't have the appropriate clothing and suffered as a result. That video was entertaining and enjoyable to you and us. The writings on the wall which direction your videos should take, Rhys. A trip out in the sib day and night fishing the mouth of the Medway would be interesting too- but be careful.
Great stuff mate. Keeping it plain n simple is the key to enjoyment. Next you need to fish the mad mick 3 hook pulley flapper. 1 swivel and 1 clip. 😂 Looking forward to the mix of different types of fishing you going to be uploading Good luck in your next session
Good to see you back mate. 👍🏼 I wouldn’t worry about the fish size or the fact they’re just whiting (it is what it is around our coastline 😂) - people like watching you whatever you’re catching. You boys should film a match between yourselves tho, Fish Hunter Christmas cup. 😉 Or something like see how many different baits you can catch them on.
Carp fishing is easy as the pond is a lot smaller :( If you go carp fishing with a pulley Pennel rig or up and over, etc then you might get some interest. Just use sea fishing terms that the carpies do not know about !
Rod looks suspiciously like a Conoflex Cod. I wonder if its one of the semi- carbons whereby the tip is glass but the rest is Carbon. Ive got a 1982 Cod6 S/C with 8ft tip mostly carbon with 12 inches of woven in glass...... and 5ft Dural Butt. That looks like its a different one eg 2 x 6ft section Cod5. Its now gone full circle and Century etc are all charging a fortune for the new must have Glass Tip GT rods. New......really?
I have loved your vids for ages and you are a great presenter, but you sound like you have been making vids to satisfy the channel rather than vids about your fishing. I hope you can regain the balance in your life and get back to just recording what you are doing rather than doing what you think you need to record. Do you get me ? Love all of them whatever. Don't give it up mate !
Yeah, the old Rhys is back!!!

Great vid again Rhys, and can’t beat going back to basics where it all began once in a while l🎣🎣
Great video. Just goes to show not all about catching big fish and using expensive gear. It’s the enjoyment that counts

Thanks guys means a lot coming from you and that sounds like a brilliant idea lol ill get that in to plan I think lol 😆
Good video. Proof that expensive rods and reels are designed to catch anglers and you don't need to spend hundreds to enjoy your fishing
I think the rod might be a conoflex cod 5 got a blank in my garage, great vid mate good to see you back, carp or not.
Carping is ok but you can't beat the reel thing! Saltwater!
Had to laugh ,the old rod and reel is the sort of gear I own 😀
Still ok for an old fella like me ....

I'll try this 🤣
Definitely a conaflex, I got one,
Have you still got the sib if so could a sib vid be on the cards??
