Quoting a saying "Don't always reveal that you're more efficient than your boss and outshine them". If you do, they feel insecure and try to sideline you somehow and achieve it. This video presents two examples of this. Lee Iacocca who was responsible for Ford Motor's famous brands called Mustang and Pinto-type cars in the 1960s, implied that Henry Ford-2 had indirectly indicated his authority by pointing to the surname "Ford" written in the company building when he disputed that he should be appointed CEO, The another one from Tata, It was believed that there was a possibility of several Tata company managers succeeding JRD Tata. But, JRD Tata introduced Rattan Tata as chairman and he urged the then controversial Russi Modi to resign at the board meeting. So the best way is to avoid actions that surpass superiors and not reveal that you are more efficient than them, says Mr. Anand Srinivasan.
