you have done right thing to start with by starting with South India. south India is more developed, educated, spiritual, cleaner, greener, safer than the north. it is also less polluted, populated, noisy, chaotic than the North.

Mh depends on what kind of food you eat. Roti with some gravy cost you up to $1. But if you eat paneer masala or something like that, it can cost you up to $2. I think the food prices are pretty much similar. But let me travel a bit more in India and then I can give you a better conclusion, Dina 🫶🏼

If you had wanted to learn Tamil, you could have picked up a few words & phrases when you were in Sri Lanka. In regions like Haputale & other tea growing areas where you spent a lot of your time, you were almost exclusively around Tamil speakers.
