Don’t think that it will have a enough flotation to hold the car out the water plus you would still need to move forward and back so you need paddles on them also,,

Put inner tubes in between the wood and see if you float in the snow
You should try 55gal oil barrels to make extra wide wheels, you would have to strengthen them though and maybe weld some traction lugs

Another awesome experiment. Haven't seen that car in a while, and forgot y'all gave it 4 wheel drive. Gotta love those old school Ladas. The fact that they still make the old school versions over there in Russia till this day is nothing short of awesome. I really wish I could find something like that here in the USA. It's almost impossible to find anything with a manual transmission anymore let alone something simple and easy to fix and not full of computers and impossible to fix. I really wish we still had simple cars like that in the United States. Hell almost nobody even knows how to drive a stick shift anymore. I'm one of the few, but I prefer a stick over an automatic transmission. Anyway, love you guys and look forward to what y'all cook up next. Much love from South Carolina USA.

I would say another try with this but wrap some chain link fencing around the reels like a floating tire. Thing would be loud but a lot more grip and maybe might work on some loose pack.

I have a new one for you. Cleetus ran a bone stock LS the other day on a mix of ethanol/Nitromethane, +60% HP/TQ It was WILD, NO BOOST, NA. HP went from like 280 wheel HP to 490+ Run a LADA on mix of ethanol/Nitro, they put in like 49 degrees of timing.

A great project as always. I wonder if you nailes pieces of wood and filled in the space across the 2 rims of the spool so as to to make a flat wheel of 1 meter across or what ever it is. This would give so much surface area on each wheel, I think then it would probably drive on the snow. What do you guys think ?

What if you put in some sort of reduction gear and then added wood slats inside the double wood wheels to allow you to plow through deep snow? Kind of like a boat paddlewheel

Put some rubber on them wheels , like some heavy duty rubber bycicle tires . One on inside of cable reel and one on outside. 👍

Bigger wheels take more torque to turn them. Rubber air filled tires absorb the bumps in the road, wide tires have more surface area for better grip. Tire threads make more grip. Having the wheels as close to the center of the car as possible means the weight is more evenly distributed on them so they wear more evenly and are less likely to snap off. It's like they tried to make the worst wheels possible.

You should try to put screws half way in on the edge of the wood to bend and act like studs
It needs padding and then knobby bicycle tire tread screwed onto the contact surface.
My recommendations to make this a amazing channel is to get somebody that has a very strong Russian accent to do the voiceover as well as turn the volume down on the voice and more volume up on what actually going on.

You need to string some chains or cables across the spools for traction and then but in a real engine. Something with high torque.
