Towel Day is celebrated every May 25 in a number of countries, two weeks after the death of Douglas Adams in 2001. Adams wrote about towels as the most useful item for travelers. Towels can be used practically to warm the body when the weather is cold.
In addition, it is useful to be a base when lying on the sand by the beach. Adams also gives advice in his book not to go anywhere without a towel. Towel Day is also celebrated in memory of Adams as a humorous writer with a witty and playful character.
