    At 0:12 was Mr Coogan trying to be Geoff Goldblum?... either way, BRAVO. I met him in the 90's at the BBC and he was the warmest lovely chap. I still like to think that I have met Partridge. That was even better than the time I went to Silverstone, shook Jackie Stewarts' hand... My marriage fell apart after that.

      No I did mean Geoff, @smalla weyhey11 you know... the guy who sells knock-off Tweenies at the Rugby covered market. I bought one once but it turned out to be full of soiled bandages. That said, no amount of Partridgeisms will cover my obvious error, I thank you for your candour.🏆

    Surely what's important is what Steve Coogan said, rather than whether you liked the interviewer

    • @anthonygreenita
      @anthonygreenita Před 5 lety +2

      @Dickie Chaznick oh quite, but it's a bit cruel to compare perhaps the finest interviewer we've had the privilege to watch with a decent professional managing to get some good stuff out of a shy guest

      They werent able to finish their careers at the right time or in the manner they would have wanted. Their financial situation coupled with their desire to continue to perform meant they entered into ill advised movie ventures in the 40s and then later when they should have been happily retired they made Atoll K much to their own regrets.

      James Adcock The sound shorts are mostly brilliantly funny and what their reputation is based on because Stan was given the freedom to craft them. (2 or 3 of the full length movies are classics but on the whole, the short form was perfect for them ) When they moved away from Hal Roach studios they had no input and were not allowed to improvise and work it out on set like they used to and were written by writers who didn’t understand the characters they’d created and they were frankly rubbish.
