    Hello sir that was an awesome kayak rack you built. I like how simple and easy and cheap it was to do. I like how you have the setup. I like your jeep too man. That is a very nice Jeep you have. I want to get a Jeep Wrangler so bad. I had a chance to get one but I chose to buy a tractor-trailer to start my own business & my wife say once I get the truck paid off I can buy the Jeep. Good video thank you for sharing.

    Good looking instant all ya need. No need in a 600 dollar tie-down system to have fun.

    Love your 'çan do' attitude! I've got a tiny Suzuki Jimny soft top, looking for ideas. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks for the nice comments! Love those Suzuki’s, we use to have an 87 Samurai.

    I absolutely hate the ugly cage racks that are the only option for a Jeep TJ wrangler. I tow our old trusty TJ behind a motorhome and I'm always looking for a better way to haul two kayaks along without putting them inside the motorhome. I think I'm giving this one a try for my TJ, thanks for the good ideas!

      Thanks Craig! Might try little thicker diameter pvc with shorter roof line on TJ. I also have a 97 TJ but usually just taking kayaks local with it and just take top off and lay right on roll bars with straps

    I know what I’m making this weekend! What do you mean twist the cords? Tia.

      Thanks for watching! Just take your strap across the top and have partner hold other end and twist it till has good number of coils in it. If flat the wind will make it flap and whistle like crazy.

    How did it work?

      Used dozens times. You’ll find need to replace foam. Best ways/places to put straps. But over all no issues and no damage.

    Awesome .. i'm considering making this for my 2-door JK .. will it also work with the top down? Now that you've had it for almost a year, any updates on durability? Is the PVC holding up?

      Thanks. I did have one joint come unglued and replaced padding here and there but other than that it has done well. We have used with top back, actually less to worry about messing up top. And you can just tie down pvc to roll bars then Kayaks all the way under Roll bars
      Best wishes, be safe! John

    Do you have measurements for this 🙂

    • @mimsnmotion
      @mimsnmotion  Před 2 lety +1

      About 50-52” wide, 60-62” long. And add cross member at 27-28” . But really need measure from front windshield support to first support then to second support on soft top. If hard top not as critical. Just fit top area but still would do a center support so kayaks don’t rest on hardtop
