I learned gamedev by listening to this in the background.. well now I am an intern at a game studio (been almost a year) and have started applying to gamedev jobs .. gonna comeback to this video every once in a while cuz this is where it all started.. so yeah I created nostalgia for this (even tho it was like 2019 when I started learning)
Edit 25/7/2021: I got a full time offer at the Game company I was an intern at for like a year (it's a startup btw but they got an office now cuz they just got funded)
Edit 12/8/2021: I accepted and started fulltime.. but unity is for mobile games and indie games, people in bigger studios dont use unity... I am learning unreal engine C++ on the side to get into a AAA company hopefully in the future

Two interns are working under me and I am in the core development team working on integrating Analytics SDKs along with managing interns and developing games (startups do be crazy man)... the company is probably gonna get acquired if they show bigger results or they will get better investors idk what decision the founder boi will take, but my job will be safe cuz I am core dev team boi (hopefully?)
Also I'm fine with mobile dev for now..(also there are not many unreal C++ jobs compared to unity jobs so I don't think learning unreal is a good option as of now) probably will start indie dev at a later point in life but AAA gamedev job seems like cog in the wheel kind of thing and that is the main reason why I didn't go for an SDE role in the first place (I am in my 4th yr CSE now).. this is turning into a diary lol

So ya been working fulltime in the same studio in the core dev team, there are no interns as of now, these guys have stopped making new games and are maintaining current games so the work is not much creative these days.
Applied to some jobs on the side, got an offer for about 4x my salary for a roblox developer job.. but then roblox developer skills wont transfer easily I think idk.. anyway I kinda acted uninterested while taking the interview cuz roblox seemed a bit scammy idk anyway blew the interview, didn't get the job, my portfolio and stuff was cool, just that I acted skeptical so they ghosted me after that welp thats that.
Im gonna graduate in a month and need a higher paying job now, I will probably have to do the "best way to go up the ladder is to switch the ladder" and switch jobs, applied to ubisoft etc, those guys have like a month of time to review applications so ya still searching for something which had good work environment plus good pay plus they make creative stuff. I still enjoy gamedev a lot, even made an assassins creed clone kinda thing for portfolio and stuff
and ya I still listen to this and some other similar mixes in the background while working ofc

I switched from this mobile game company to another company which is an MNC they work on cocos2Dx and not unity so the engine is different but then the salary is double so yep I have switched the ladder successfully, Im currently on a notice period, joining date is August 1st, these guys even provide a work laptop! The previous company didn't, and I had to do their work on my laptop. So yeah life seems good, I have graduated and am waiting for the convocation, as in all exams are done.
Gonna start working side by side on my own game since this new job is mon to fri so sat and sunday are free time for me.
Also I created a youtube channel called theawesomshaz where I talk about my gamedev journey, even make tutorials sometimes and it's kinda slooowwwwwly growin not even 100 subs yet.. I also created a discord server for the channel and stuff, so Im forming a community kinda.
Will do the job+youtube/personal gamedev so that I don't get bored in life and can still follow my passion. Although that job is gamedev too, but I have this game idea that I wanna make.. indie game ish thing ofcourse. Let's see how it goes

Went to the India Gamedev Conference and got to know some hard truths about the game industry, the indie game scene is really hard and no one will fund it. Making my game on the side seems useless now also my coding needs to be a bit better than this. So I will go back to the udemy course learning for a while ig
Also I am Leaving this MNC job thing rn, they are struggling for funds and are planning to close their sector in my country, also there isn't any kind of mentorship so I am not learning anything here, will have to jobhunt now, I am notice period so I will be employed the next 15 days, but after that I won't have a job, I have an interview tomorrow and am still applying for a better job, I have about 3 years of gamedev experience also the mnc was using cocos creator not cocos2dx so yep I only made webgames there, wanna join into some big studio, guess ill have to take a break learn some advanced concepts and then start applying? Ill let yall know how the interview goes

Got a job in another MNC, this one is stable very less chance of layoffs and stuff, my motivation is back I have started working on my game again in my free time and making some youtube videos to document my progress so that I stay motivated on it (ill post the first one in some weeks Im currently writing the script).
Well the job is 9 to 6 and then half n hour of traffic while going and coming back leads to tiredness, but there is saturday and sunday, got like literally just hours of free time but Im enjoying all of it, the job work isn't too stressful, but yeah managing the job+gamedev+youtube schedule kinda keeps me busy, tbh grinding makes you feel alive man, staying away from all kinds of social media, once the game is getting some progress ill share some screenshots or gifs of it there ig, well I should market myself better idk how to do that yet posting gifs on reddit or twitter might work but people there are inventing stuff mine will probably just sink in the see we shall see how that works out

Lmao these guys tried reducing my salary XD left that company switched to another MNC, currently there, now I have about 3 years of experience but still a junior dev. I am trying to do CZcams consistently now, working on a parkour controller like the old assassins creed on the gamedev channel (it's called "TheAwesomeShaz"). And yeah, stuff is going good so far :)

Resigned at the other MNC they made me work saturdays and every day the work was goinon till 12 midnight while my timing is 9 to 6 in the day, also the overtime was not payed and I was made to crunch by staying in the studio for 48 hours straight. damn maybe I shouldnt have joined the game industry afterall huh. I get it if we are making something meaningful but here we just keep reworking the same fkin feature again and again. This was a metaverse making company anyway not a game studio.
I think ill have to switch to software dev soon there is probably not much scope for game developers in India. I dont see anyone in my field happy. Everyone either has less salary or has less personal time but isnt that just life? slave away at work switch jobs to survive etc? Currently freelancing as a gamedev and learning the whole backend side of things C# .Net etc
idk man I really want to be in gamedev but the situation doesnt look too good

I feel you man. When i started to listen to these mixes on YT i was just learning how to make Hello World in c++. Now I work as professional dev with CCNA and I'm one year from getting AI engineering degree. You can acheive all your dreams as long as there is some badass synth playing in the background!

Man, back when this was uploaded was when I was going through a transitional period in my life. My creative spark was flourishing, and was needed to keep me entertained during the beer sickness. Would be interesting. Instead of the face underneath the mask being mutilated in some conventional way, in a cyberpunk setting, perhaps the Phantom is missing most of his face due to augmentations? Like one of those Malestrom guys from 2077.
Or perhaps the mask *is* the augmentation, to keep him alive in some way? Maybe it's connected to a breathing apparatus or something.

@@samirnp oh god no, that was such trash, they couldnt even stick to the original anime script they badly copied off of.
Although Alita: Battle Angle was loosely connected to it's manga counterpart, it had an overall interesting plot and the CGI was very well implicated. I am working on a Cyberpunk-like show that premiers on June 29 2021 that will hopefully bring more fallowers to the Cyberpunk genre and bring more awareness to the Alita: Battle Angle fanbase.
