A few years ago me and some work friends were discussing The Star Wars Universe (around the time the daisy trilogy was starting) most secretive and dangerous “villains” I mentioned thrawn and gave my input on how darth jar jar or thrawn would be the next menacing force. They didn’t know who I was talking about
Probably because they shit on the prequels and think the sequels are the height of Star Wars. You’d be surprised how many think The Clone Wars animated is where SW got off the ground and know nothing about the lore that came before.
He’s definitely the best character I never knew.

Only issue I have with Thrawn is they gave him a belly in Ahsoka which makes no sense as he trained against elite empire droids. He is a tall and athletic type of individual not a shorter and pudgy type of officer.
TBF,he is a bit older now,maybe he can't move as much as before,leading to a decrease in physical activity. While not adjusting his diet led to him growing a bit of belly?
Older or not he looks nothing like Thrawn the character should be done as CGI and modelled after the OG Thrawn he should look just like the Thumbnail but no this is Disney but again all of their products are trash

@@user-ze3lk1ov5b I agree it’s Disney they don’t want positive male role models or anything to do with masculinity because they play politics, but most of how he looks is correct minus he is suppose to be a fairly tall and impressionable character slightly intimidating as well.
@@gammawoody9715 Indeed instead he is just blue painted Lars Mikelensen i would love the actor to take the part but not in this way but with use of CGI so they can model Thrawn as he should look like and having Lars making the expressions i mean don't you agree that the video thumbnail is exactly what Thrawn should look like in live action

Great breakdown, I love the inclusion of the original version of Thrawn. The one I remember. The one who's reason for an Empire was to defend against the oncoming Vong.
Palpatine and Vader didn't explore the intricacies of the dark side because that wasn't either of their goals. Vader wanted order, while Ol Sheev just loved the hell out of being evil and being in control of everything. They didn't have the drive to explore the dark side like Bane, Revan of Caedus. They only used it for their own means, which worked for a long time until it didn't.

And second, was it ever confirmed that Ezra Bridger was in fact promoted to Jedi Knight? As far as I am aware, he's still a Padawan. A good one at that, but even so.

Thank you I finally feel justified in questioning why the Republic needed to be reformed at all. It fell due to corruption in fighting and decadents so why bring it back?
I don't think they could have simply followed the X wings, there was no hyperspace tracking yet.. but with the defenders they could do the same strike and run tactics that the rebellions do.
The way you pronounce some words leaves me convinced that you are an alien.
Because thrown was so different from the rest of the imperial machine I think it's a shame we could never see a period where he gets to rule the empire. Now I'm not saying he's right but with his generally understanding nature he would have been an interestingly complex emperor show by the examp!e the Jedi set by leaving him to his own devices in legends. Not that he would've been a monster it sometimes a dangerously tempting one at that.

Thrawn doesn't believe in the force and it's what was the downfall of the Empire.
If Thrawn was motivated by saving his people and the galaxy against the Von. Why did he not just join the rebellion, surely he could have been a leader in the new republic and working with the Jedi he would have a better chance of winning????

The Chiss are isolationists that don't believe in pre-emptive strikes. Plus they don't want to split their forces as they're embroiled in a war far worse than Empire vs. Rebels. Edit: It's possible the Chiss invent some kind of long range communication device while he is in exile. It would explain how Thrawn could communicate to build the Eye of Sion.

It's one of the Canon changes. They are essentially the same in terms of galactic threat, but go about it differently. The main point is that Thrawn is combating a greater evil and needs the empire to do it
