  • TWA is very excited to announce our first signature model, as well as our first collaboration with TubeScreamer creator Susumu Tamura - the Scott Henderson SH9 Signature Distortion.
    With the SH9, Mr. Tamura has taken the basic SD-9 circuit architecture that he invented in 1981 and re-worked it to meet Scott Henderson’s exacting performance standards.

    I first saw Henderson 40 years ago at the GIT, he blew us away back then, and now I was able to see him again a few weeks ago in a club in Hamburg, while many other great guitarists who were getting on in years are losing energy, SH still radiates the same youthful joy, I wish I could see him more often, he is pure inspiration

    It is extremely subtle, but then this is the master of tone. Despite he can make sound a mop like an Stradivarius, I think I really get what he is trying to explain. Then again Scott has to have really a very hard time when he is setting up his gear due to his search for the ultimate perfect tone. Then his playing, the perfect mix between the most beautiful sweet guitar with the most outrageous and ferocious style, mixing flawlessly an extremely overdriven classic Strat and no less than a endless vocabulary deep into be bop and blues. There is no other guitar player like Scott Henderson. Not even close. And you know what if you are not familiar with this guitar genius, Listen to Dolemite from his album Tore Down House where he plays what in my humble opinion is the best rock solo ever, and after that listen to Calhoun from the album Vibe Station. This last tune, I played for a friend on the stereo the other day and he told me afterwards, man there is absolutely nothing I would listen to now half as good as that tune. Scott. King of guitar.

    • @scott686
      @scott686 Před rokem +4

      The SD-9 is a great pedal, but anything can be improved on. You can't do a proper comparison without pointing out the faults of the thing you improved. I admit these improvements are subtile, but to people who are serious about tone, they're important. I could still do a gig with a stock SD-9 and be totally fine - these improvements are more noticeable in the studio than live.

    This nice note is not about the pedal but about Scott's incredible fingers. Don't buy the pedal! Buy Scott's fingers !

      If we could figure out how to bottle and sell Scott's fingers, we would. Until then, we'll just have to settle for this pedal.

      @@scotthenderson7795 Oh dear.. but that's not what I meant .... I think it blew up in my face.. I am really sorry, but my comment was misconstrued.
      For the record , Scott, you are one of my top 5 most favourite players/writers of all time . I mean it.. Saw you live several times I am also a regular listener to " guitarwank." podcasts.I now realise my comment was evidently clumsy, I was trying to stress the superiority of the SH9 over SD9 ( I myself regularly us drive my amp with Maxton OD-820...)
      Vegetarian mosquito = friendly , does not sting, Manouka = arguably the best honey around.
      I repent and apologise unreservedly..

      @@panavisionnot7180 No worries and thanks for the explanation! Look at the comment below yours - this guy thinks the SH9 sounds like Trump, which is like calling it the worst pedal ever made by anyone, anywhere. I'll take the mosquito in the honey jar!

      @@scotthenderson7795 Thank you so much for taking time to reply and dispel my guilt and misery , Scott..
      I think his comment may be exacerbated by a severe case of tinnitus and some chemicals..
      P.S. The lesson I take from this : refrain from making "wise" guy comments particularly during JD infused incoherence late at night..
      BTW . Your gig at RS in April 2019 , particularly the Wayne Short tune was the best thing I saw and heard in years..
