    Thanks Imran, great video, best one I’ve seen on base gravy. You have a lovely kitchen and the pan was perfect for such a large quantity 👍

    Great video. My problem is I never use enough oil. I am not a health freak but over the years I have got into the habit of reducing oil, and I really can see you need it here.

    • @imranskitchen7005
      @imranskitchen7005  Před rokem +7

      You could definitely make this with less oil! We are making this as we would in a restaurant where we put a good amount of oil to prevent anything from burning and it also helps preserve the gravy for longer when we make it in very large quantities. If you have less oil you just need to make sure that you are controlling the heat so it doesn’t burn.

    Do you grind /blend the whole spices

    • @imranskitchen7005
      @imranskitchen7005  Před rokem +1

      No we don’t grind the whole spices. We just leave them in while cooking and then take them out once it’s done. All the flavour from the spices will already be mixed in.

    When you blend the onion and tomato do you keep the larger whole spices in? (black cardamon & cinnamon). Looks fantastic by the way.

    • @imranskitchen7005
      @imranskitchen7005  Před 2 lety +3

      Thanks for watching! If you think your blender will be able to finely blend the whole spices you can keep them in otherwise I would recommend taking them out, it will already have all the flavour and smell so if you take it out that is totally fine.

    New subscriber. Did you take the whole spices out of the onions and tomatoes when you blended them or leave them in?

    hello chef how about adding melon seed & cashew paste to the base.thanks

    • @imranskitchen7005
      @imranskitchen7005  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey. Melon seeds wouldn’t really make sense in onion gravy it’s something that you would put in korma sauce. As for cashew paste Imran usually does not put it in onion gravy because some people may have allergies but you can add a little bit if you would like!

    How many days we can preserve it and in which container. Thanks.

    • @imranskitchen7005
      @imranskitchen7005  Před 2 lety +4

      You can put it in a freezer safe plastic container in the freezer for 3 months and in the fridge you can keep it in a glass container for 3-4 weeks.

    Chef, could you please give us the full recipe please? I don't know the measurements of the spices on the plate. What was the spice after green cardamom? Also, how much oil did you add when you fried the ginger garlic paste? Thank you!

    • @imranskitchen7005
      @imranskitchen7005  Před 2 lety +15

      Hey so we used 1 TBS of cumin seeds, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 black cardamom, 5 cloves, 4 green cardamom, 1 star anise, some mace, 2 bay leaves. We used 4 TBS of oil when we fried the ginger garlic paste.
