It's still possible, it took me about 2hrs of reloading to find one on the planet I was trying for one on. Did this just 2 days ago
Didn't work for me... I cut loads of footage of me trying to get it to work.
Tried away from buildings, tried in the north and south of the planet... all my old ways...
None worked for me...

(And perhaps still does if you are lucky - lots of others in the comments here saying the old way works, and lots of comments in my old video saying it doesn't).
@@CaptainSteveVPT very good chance it used up a few days worth of my luck, had a bad day at work the very next night. I almost gave up and even tried using the charts on other planets in the system a few times, chances definitely felt really low and it was also in a 6 planet system (1 is a dead planet though) wish I was actually streaming/recording so I could've posted the video, but I don't stream very often
If you have a stack of charts that ever tells you "similar building found" if you split the stack you're likely to have the chart spawn a different location. Similar to cutting the cards of a deck, you can get a different selection.
being next to impossible to get one on a planet of your choice turns me so off of settlements in general...
I've watched your content for a while, and never used the other half of my brain to actually subscribe, today is a different day!

Last I tried you can reload your save and try to use the map on a different section of the planet of your choice. After a couple tries and different sections of the planet it will find one
Used to work prior to Sentinel... couldn't get it to work this time... my old video has lots of comments saying the old methods dont work...

Could you possibly choose a planet you don’t want and use the settlement map there? Maybe it will actually choose the planet you actually want?
Been searching and spamming charts for 5 hours. Got nothing
hey i can't get multiplayer to work at all like everything i see says in the anomaly you can see other players but I never do I have seen them appear but then disappear but never have I seen anyone stay or show up again...
Not sure what to suggest, other than restart your router and all thar jazz.
I am looking for the toughest planet to start a new settlement on.
I was lucky with my settlement. No storms and besides of the useless ohmic gel I also get Pugneum, and thats ok.
I tried to move planets and got a message after arriving at the one I wanted. Went to the Town and clicked the terminal and this is what it put on the screen 'Insufficient Battle Experience' What does that even mean?

I read the title and I've got an idea for an update. What if settelments (or cities) were standing on a wheels and moving like in Mortal Engines? That would've solved the sentinel problem 😁

But my friend and I have been having issues of planets we discover changing who discovered it.
My friend discovered a paradise planet and went to give it to me and name it what i asked but when he did the person who discovered it was no longer him but another friend of ours.
We're all super confused as to why and hope someone can help us figure out how this happened and if it can be changed again?
Happens alot lately... its server side.
The discoveries server is where these things get saved, Hello Games side... nothing we players can do other than report it to the ZenDesk.

I can still choose the planet i want my settlement on . You must be away from any buildings , use auto reload and also try activating a map from the space station .

What happens to the name you had on your old settlement? Does it reset it to a default name so other players can’t use that name?
Assume it reverts to default.

FYI: I changed my settlement. The first settlement did in fact reset the name to it’s original name before I changed it. Only problem I have now is I can’t get my beacon back I placed. The settlers had some festival & it’s glitched now. Oh well. Congrats to their next overseer on a free beacon. Lol
Steve matey, what would happen IF, after yiu get the first result as you did do, ie, not the planet you where hoping for and on but, the ringed planet, you went to said R/Pnt and then re load, do a search for your wanted settlement, if yu did this on every planet in said system could you finally get to theplanet you wanted ?????, just a thought, but, even tho its long winded, i wuld go down this route IF, i achieved my wanted planet, as i say, JUSY an idea, OBTW, thrusters AOK, wrong mix of mods, all beware of doing same. all the best and reagrds to all at home my friend..........................Tom..
PS, If the generation of settlements is like you say, this then means you could get shafted i you will forgive the term, by HG in ending up on a planet from beyond HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!, if so, is it return to galaxy map and carry on searching, ( great title for a film, ooooooo matron!!!), my settlement is very nice one perfect world so should i move, own choise i guess.. cheers.Tom.
I cut loads of footage out... tried for 3 hours to get it on the lush... didn't work... tried all sorts, just gave me the ringed planet and the same settlement each time, this wasn't the case at launch my old video showed ways to alter the planet likely-hood for spawn... Think it's changed.
