its a good idea to grab stable energy when you pass to the mid zone . later in the game you might soft lock upgrades if you don't . also when you have a zone with perpetual stability as a trait . loot as much as you can because there are no storms until you escape . the more you play the more you have to b-line to escape a zone
FYI for the crystal resource (can't think of the exact name right now) you can get them from blowing up the tourists ore harvesting armored doors/panels. But that's a very slow tedious way of getting them. The best way to get them is to look for the red orbs in the mid and deep zones that look almost like the anchor orbs you grab to open the gateways. If you use the hammer tool on them they will break and drop somewhere around 10-15 crystals at a time.

The upgraded antenna allows you to ping multiple destinations, allowing you plan alternate routes depending on your goals.
The thing you put in your passenger seat can heal you, but you have to set it as an ability on the panel left of the wheel. I recommend packing at least 3 each of the mechanics kit, electronic repair kit, and sealing kits, although lately I've been thinking 2 stacks of 3 sealing kits might make more sense (I had a run where I used all of the 3 I brought and then had to make a couple more on the fly. When something causes your car to hit the ground hard it can crack multiple windows and that is a pain). Also the paddle tires are amazing in the swampy bits of the mire. Makes it easier to get around, since it seems like there's less stuff trying to kill you in the water. I've taken to carrying the paddle tires in my trunk and when I get to a mire junction I'll quickly switch the offroads for them, and go over the car with the torch too while I'm at it.

2 little hints throwing a lit flare will blow up tourists any large object like the scrapper also works but it could fly away and any vehicle part perks stacks and works on adjacent parts. so if you have a insulated hood then both side pannels will also get that

Drae, for the love of god, when you are in a zone that has green circles, don't do them straight away. Any zone that has a story objective is completely stabile until you finish the objectives, then they collapse. Please take time and scavenge, you really need it. after having watched your first 2 videos i learned how NOT to play. Remember to over prepare, and also, storage is your best friend.
While you were first driving through the mid zone, that purple triangle on the map was a drop pod, those normally have insane loot

So the purple thing on the map is a cache to find stuff in. It's worth while specially in the mid/deep zone. Also like others said, get the energy early so you don't get stuck in the end and at worse, need to abandon your run.

I'm loving this series Drae! Thankyou for doing this :) Can I ask a favour though? Can you do a little bit of unlocking things, or repairing or something a little extra after you come back from a jump? I felt today's episode ended too early. Could just be me though. I think most people want more long form content for these types of games. Not stream length per se, but probably a bit over the 60 minute mark.

This is such a good game
Btw the protection of panel/door transfers that same protection to nearby panels. So put anti corrosive on front two panels and hood will get +50% protection from acid and your front doors also get +25%. Plan your build with this in mind it helps construct a beast of a car for deep zone or acid country especially.
I think Drae and "horrifying" go hand in hand.

Feel free to also unlock the clothing station or whatevver the name is. It allows for bigger backpack and some insulated clothing. Protect yourself not just the vehicle!

Try switching it up some lead and some of the energy and you should be protected both from radiation and electricity

It's Pacific Drive not Pacific Walk ....I like to get as close as possible to the Zone Anchors to both minimize radiation and to get it in the Arc Device before the Zone destabilizes.
