SUPERB!! This is by FAR the best live Lush video on youtube, and this song is one of their 10 best. I was lucky enough to see them live in June, 1996, so this brings back great memories. So sad they didn't get to stay around and make much more music like this.

Yes this Riviera 12 was built by the Nashville Gibson Custom Shop in 1993. All the reissue Rivieras made there that year had only 6 strings, except Miki's. It's one a kind, similar to the vintage ones made between 1965 and 1970 at Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

+prolinea4 Agreed! It's the standout song off 'Split'. 'Lovelife' and 'Lit Up' should've been the singles instead of 'Desire Lines' and 'Hypocrite' (much as I like 'Desire Lines', it's longer than Peter Crouch and slower than Teddy Sheringham!)

@@JMill-bs6xt They're amazing aren't they?! I couldn't believe it when I heard them and learned they'd never been issued as singles. Far more obvious choices than Desire Lines (much as I love it) and Hypocrite. Although I strongly suspect Lush's USA-fixated management thought Hypocrite would curry favour with the Grunge kids.

@raiderglory - absolutely right. The quality of this is stunning. And those harmony vocals are breathtaking ending on that glorious chord at 3.10. Lush were my all time fav band because they knew how music worked. Listen to how the melody modulates through several keys by employing semitonal intervals, it's just brilliant stuff. Such a loss...
