Sometimes who we really are inside is something and someone that we don't think, or we even know, our parents and family won't easily accept. And when we test it, to see what they think about that person we know inside that we are, they fail the tests. What do we do then? How long should we keep a secret about who we are, especially from the people who we need and expect to support us no matter what, to love us unconditionally. Acceptance from them means everything.
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual, homosexual, keeping a secret, staying in the closet, all can be so hard to live with when your parents don't know. Fear of losing your family can cause incredible anxiety and depression.
Savannah knows herself, and knows who she is inside, but coming out to her family scares her terribly. They are not very accepting people, and they have said out loud that they don't believe it is right to be LGBTQ, and so Savannah is scared that they will hate her or even disown her when she shares the truth about herself with them. She does not want to lose her family because of her sexual preference or identity.

Me and my family are Catholics, we go to church, we prey, and we have crosses as decorations in our house. When people think about our religion, they think that we believe the whole "Gay is a sin" when really that's not true, many of my church friends are actually either support or are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Me and family fully support people who are in the LGBTQ+ community, we personally believe that it shouldn't matter what your sexuality, race, gender, weight, height, or where you come from as we are all humans and should be treated equally. That's what my parents raised us with, and I stand by it.
Fun fact: I actually commented here on this video when I was 11-12 about that same thing and immediately got a lot of hate replies. It got to the point that some adults even told me to kill myself and that I should burn in hell for supporting LGBTQ+ people. It was traumatizing, and I deleted my comment. I'm now 18 and still getting shaky hands when I come back to this video as I'm too scared to actually make a comment and instead just reply to other people's comments

I'm glad you respect them because for me it's hard to find people who don't support the community but still respect the people in it.

People so often use this as an excuse for hate. They equate criticism with censorship. Savannah has the right to think what she wants, too. Expressing your ideas doesn't mean they can't be criticized.

I Snapped Right At him and After about 20 minutes for Fighting I Ran out of the house with my friend, grabbed my phone, called my mom to pick us up. My mom believes that even if you Are gay or not you should Be treated right no matter what and I believe her.
