VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Nikki was on a road trip when she randomly saw a black skoolie for sale on the side of the rod. Although she didn't purchase that exact one, the seed was planted, and the new journey began! As an artist who desires to travel, she designed her tiny home on wheels so that her desk has plenty of room and the live edge kitchen countertop extends for space to create.
The most outstanding feature of her bus is the full-size stand-alone bathtub in her living room! It's made of light acrylic and glows from natural lighting. She has two hundred gallons of fresh water to support her tub and an instant water heater.
There's a full bathroom with an excellent barn door that, when closed, opens up a hidden bar and extra pantry space. Nikki also has a washer/dryer combo, a queen-sized bed, and a massive deck on the exterior backside!

I do so agree. What else could you want. Love the colors of India products. So bright and happy. The tub incredible. Enjoy that. Till your knees go like mine and getting out without help impossible like mine starting at 70, it will be divine. Then you can replace with your studio. Love your entire rig.

Lovely, organized, and colorful! She knew what she wanted and went after it, which is quite admirable & adventurous. A woman who builds her dwelling around a gorgeous soaking tub has her priorities in the right place.
Love this build. What a beautiful expression of her. Those curtains, counter, and tub, wow! So many things I like. She was smart in staying in a schoolie to get a good idea of want she liked and didn't like, then buildt her bus to her needs to make it her home. All that texture and color make for such a homey space, and I absolutely love that bathtub. My chronic pain and I cannot imagine trying to live with cramped, awkward showers forever, so the thought of still having that tub on the road is amazing, and makes the idea of a bus seem so much more feasible. This is a phenomenal build, and genuinely feels like a home on wheels.
Finally a home with a bathtub! This is definitely somewhere I could live because I love a good bath and then being able to take the bath to a beautiful setting, pure bliss! 😌 💕

This has been the only thing that has been missing from most tiny homes and as a disabled woman who has to endure chronic pain, a bathtub in my must have. This incredible woman has done it!
I laughed a few times. Only because, I never thought I’d find someone who loves a bath 🛁 more than me!! This is probably the perfect layout for myself!! Priorities, bath, bed, art, in that order!! Lol… I hope she’s living her best live on the road!! 🤩🥰🤩

Well said and I totally agree. Though I’ve never been able to afford to stay in one place for months while travelling, I’ve always aimed for quality over quantity. I’d rather visit one or two sights/sites for as long as possible, than madly dash from one to the next, in an effort to cram as many in as I can. Means I can both enjoy myself at the time AND create longer lasting memories.

Oh WOW I adore your Doodle Bus. That tub is to die for. But to me, what's even better than that is your color scheme and delightful curtains. First, the color scheme is my fav colors, teal,apple green and mink brown which you have a bit lighter in the woods you used. Second, those curtains give your bus a gypsy/nomadic vibe even though done with Asian textiles. I also adore farmhouse sinks and the copper pipes. If it were mine the farmhouse sink would be copper or even better beaten copper. I am also an artist and maker of too many things to mention, but it feels like it could easily be my bus. I def would feel right at home in that home-on-wheels you've created. Happy travels & creating! Namaste.

I think you should add schoolie designer to you portfolio. I have seen a lot of beautiful builds but this is one I could live in. Helping people actualize their personal vision through design is a gift and you definitely have it.

So cool. About 25 years ago I was 14 and my two best friends (a brother and sister) got a new stepdad. Their mom married the dad of 3 other siblings we were friends with. One day he surprised us and picked all us kids up from school in an old white school bus he purchased on a whim. He decided to make it into an RV for their newly blended family since they loved camping but could not afford an RV to fit all of them. This was before the days of converted RVs and viral van life. It was even before the days of smart phones and reliable home internet in our smaller beach town. He did it all himself with his own imagination and skills. It was not nearly this pretty or functional but had the same cool funky vibe with handmade curtains and loving touches. They used it for a year or two and then were able to afford a more functional RV. They then parked it in the back yard and for a long time it became our teen hang out spot. After school we could go have snacks or chill out in it, play games or have sleep overs. With their 5 kids getting older and one by one turning 18 it eventually became a sort of “apartment”. A few of them who couldn’t afford their own places but wanted privacy as adults used it as a crash pad until they saved enough money to move out and pay rent. Over the years our friend group always knew we could stay there if we needed a place for a few nights. Eventually it started to deteriorate and they had to sell it off. Its been gone for years and years now and my friends dad has since died from a failed heart transplant he waited a long time for. Every time a see these “skoolies” I think of him, his vision for the bus and all the memories it provided me. Its so cool to see one looking like a real home. Bravo on making this your own. What a fun watch!

This is very cool. It’s perfectly fine to have your beautiful tub right out there. A good way to pamper yourself which you wouldn’t think would be possible in a converted bus. Thanks for sharing 😊

Your bus is perfect! My husband and I bought a bus a couple of years ago with the intention of building it into a schoolie. We had so much fun gutting it and drawing out the floor plan but his job just would not allow him the time he needed to work on it. So we sadly sold her and bought a used Class A RV and he has remodeled everything from the upholstery to the counters, shower and made a beautiful counter and dinning table with butcher block. She will be done by summer and we plan on having a wonderful time traveling. When I saw your tub I chuckled because my husband was going to put one in our bus for me! Have a wonderful time traveling and you and your bus are just lovely.

Mirrors help. Big mirrors. Backup cameras are magical. Muddy ones don’t work. You practice five or six times in a parking lot or a field, and then you “ know” where your vehicle is.😊

I think the only other tub I've seen in an RV, and I mean an ACTUAL tub not the oversized shower basin, is The Flipping Nomad. She installed one in her 5th wheel. Had to remove a window to get it in, if I remember correctly!
