Fun fact about Good cop/bad cop: originally they wanted to record those lines separately, but Liam Neeson actually INSISTED on doing them together. And as you can see, he does it flawlessly.
Of course, he's Liam Neeson LOL
Wait a second. He did that part of good cop and bad cop arguing about using the kragle on his parents together at once? That's kind of crazy. Like, even as a singer I can't imagine being able to change voices that quick and perfectly
And it makes more sense that way because of the bigger picture of the young boy technically playing all the Lego characters except Lord Business. It gives more of that sense of playing with Legos as a viewer, it's awesome!

That scene, near the end, when the Father realizes that his son thinks of him as the bad guy, is heartbreaking. Can you imagine, as a parent, how much that would hurt? Especially when he asks his son, "If the construction guy could say something to Lord Business, what would he say?" , and the response to you being, "You don't have to be the bad guy." I would feel like a failure as a parent at that point.
Fun fact
Stop motion is only ever used in this film during the real world segments. Everything else is incredible animation with such highly detailed models you can see fingerprints on stuff
Even better: they made it a personal rule that they only use blocks that actually exist. And for the most part, they stuck to it.
The stop motion fact is not entirely true SPOILERS:
At the end where Emmet show Lord Business what people can create, some monitors actually show home made lego shortfilms, wich were obviously stop motion.
And the end credits are stop motion with real bricks and DYMO labels.
@@laszlokaszas1003 a friend of mine actually applied to the competition to have their animation in the film, they didn't win unfortunately.
They had about 24hours to make the animation in a studio
This movie might hold my personal record for largest gap between how low my expectations were vs how much I enjoyed watching it. The creativity, the humor, the genuine emotions it got out of me at the end ... it was definitely much more than I was expecting.

Me too. Even through I love Lego, I was so sure it would be a long ad, but what a surprice!
This movie is phenomenal and so unique! The twist that it was all about a kid playing with his LEGO should've been so obvious but it wasn't! I know some people say this movie was just a giant ad for LEGO, but it's a damn good one! I really wanna see more reactors watch these movies!
It would’ve been obvious if they keep bringing it up like in their perspective like they say something like “I heard legends of a giant kid that controls the whole world.” But luckily it wasn’t mentioned like that.
Everyone in 2014 just expected this to be a big LEGO ad, but as soon as it released, the surprise of it being an actually great movie was massive. Those who say the ad thing after release are just... wrong. Fun fact, they don't even say the word LEGO in the movie, which I assume was to avoid any ad-like lines.
This movie is a genius!!! They made everything possible to make LEGOs into a movie!!!
This movie was not made by Disney or any company they own. It was made by Warner Bros. The movie took 7 years to make and they managed to get LucasFilm to let them put Star Wars in before 2012 when LucasFilm was bought by Disney. But Disney bought Marvel in 2009 before they could get Marvel in. They also managed to get Fox to let them put The Simpsons in because the movie released 6 years before Fox was bought by Disney in 2019.

Yes, the second movie adds the sister to the story, won't say anything to avoid spoilers but the dinamic is great, adding another character to the mix who also affects emmett's story is pretty fun
20:49 it’s actually funny you bring that up. Lego Movie is actually a Warner brothers movie. Star Wars was owned by Disney at this point but since nobody knew Lego Movie was going to be such a success Disney let them have Star Wars. That’s why most of the licensed characters in this movie are from DC, LOTR, and Harry Potter. Those are the things WB actually owns.

My best friend always got the coolest space lego sets for Christmas when we were kids. I’m Jewish and my parents would get me one good Hanukah present on the first night and by day 3 I would get underwear/socks type gifts! My friend would always have me come over first thing Christmas morning to rub it in how many legos, star wars, gi joes, transformers toys he got…but in a good way because I got to play with everything too.
We would build the space legos sets, have epic space battles, and then inevitably one of the ships would get destroyed by an asteroid (thrown against the wall). Then we would build something new with the set and battle again!

This film truly is better than it had ANY right to be, with a title like "The Lego Movie" which sounds like nothing but a dumb product cash-in, not that any of us were complaining upon first viewing. ;)

In addition to Jonah Hill as Green Lantern, Superman is played by Channing Tatum. Phil Lord and Chris Miller probably asked them to pop in a recording studio and do their lines while also filming 22 Jump Street, which, by the way, also good movie, and you should watch both it and the first one (or maybe the 21st one?) eventually.
The Lego Movie really is one of the most creative animated films I’ve seen! Compared to others that I’ve seen like Wreck-It Ralph and Big Hero 6 (to name a few), this film is one of the higher-ups. Plus the comedy is very well done! Awesome reaction!

This movie is a masterpiece! Also whenever you decide to watch the second Lego Movie, don’t listen to people who say it’s crap. In my opinion it’s even more well animated then this one since most of the villains are made of Duplo, which I can imagine is even harder to animate then Legos, even if it’s Computer animation
The original voice actor for C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) plays/voices threepio in everything. Like any time Threepio is in anything, it's Daniels voice.
I also first saw it at the quad at my uni. Free popcorn and chatting with the chickies on the grass. Good times 👍
I'm usually not a fan of such comedy but this is a master piece! 😂

If you really look at him in his villain getup, you’ll notice that Lord business’ helmet and cape take the appearance of a clip on tie
16:02 This was Morgan Freeman's first ever animated role. Vitruvius saying "Ok, you'll have to write all that down cause I'm not going to remember any of it anyway..." wasn't in the original script and was just Morgan trying to figure out his line changes when the mic was still recording. But they decided to keep it anyway. 😀
Emmet continuing to scream even after he fell with Wyldstyle got a HUGE laugh out of the theater! Best part of the movie!

FYI, yes, the sequel dealt with the boy & his younger sister. It's as good as the first movie & has another earworm song to boot.

Was so damn pumped back in 2014 when this was coming out because I was finishing up high school and had this to look forward to, it’s one of my favorite movies of all time, especially because I was super into building Legos at the time and I still am 😄

I love this movie so much! It still makes me laugh! Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are my favorite producer/director duo (if there ever was one)! They also did Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, which I recommend, but anyway the twist at the end was a great surprise because it really put a mature perspective on creativity, following rules and knowing your potential. Its great! Also The Lego Batman Movie is great too!

Funny thing is, this is kind of like Guardians of the galaxy if you think about it. Chris pratt becomes a hero, Wildstyle is the love interest of Emmet, like Gamora. Benny is Rocket racoon, who is friends with a pirate that can get big and create parts, like groot

Just noticed Lord business's helmet has two red Lego Coffee mugs on it were the fire comes from lol.
I think the stilts he wears are supposed to represent the dad always looking down at his son and possibly other people, until the end when you see him kneels to his height and hug him, it cuts back to President Business and his stilts are gone and hes looking eye level at Emmet.
