story 4: See, the little detail that stood out to me most was when OP said "in the last few years, he's been giving me hugs". OP is 20, meaning the last few years would have been about the time she was fully maturing physically. So... as you developed physically, he suddenly decided to start giving lots of hugs? Somebody go through ALL the rest of his electronics. .

The pervert stepfather story: I genuinely hope OP protects herself from her mother's husband. Alcoholism can change a lot about a person, but I highly doubt his taking his recording phone, placing it in his step-daughter's closet, and hiding it so he can see her changing is one of those things. Sounds to me a whole lot more like it was an active choice he made because he wanted to see this young woman who he's helped raise since she was a small child naked. Also, for him to know to place the phone in the closet makes me think he tried hiding his phone in her bedroom previously but I'd presume he didn't see what he wanted to see due to her changing in her closet instead of in her bedroom. If I were her I'd contact the police regarding this. I'd also have my bedroom swept for any recording devices, and then I'd get a deadbolt or similar lock installed on my bedroom door, at least until I could move out. I'd also make it very clear to my mother that if she chooses her pervert husband over mine and my younger sibling's safety the moment I leave the house will be the very last time she ever hears from me.
Story 1: Okay, the OP and his gf are in serious need of security cameras. This old fart is completely wacko, and you an almost guarantee that he will be trying t cause more trouble for you before you're able to move away. I would document everything he does to both the landlord and maybe even the police. Get a restraining order against this guy.. you dont want him to be around you. Also, he bashes the fact that the OP doesnt have a degree and yet it doesnt sound that this guy finished highschool.
Story 2: No way would the OP be a jerk here.... and honestly, why is the OP even in contact with the sister here, much less considering her being a bridesmaid. If i were the OP, i wouldn't even want her in the wedding, much less a bridesmaid. The sister here, and even some of the SIL's, are absolutely terrible and i know i wouldn't want to associate with them in any way shape or form. Once you do get engaged, do not send her an invite.
Story 3: No way is the OP a jerk here... anyone that is against the OP here is a big jerk, and that included the little kids too. This clearly was not an accident, they did that on purpose, and the aunt should 100% have to pay for a new phone. Also, the OP is by no means unreasonable to not want to babysit them in the future... why on earth would you? Also, the aunt needs to be a better parent here. Those kids are clearly out of control here.
Story 4: Three words here; CALL THE COPS!!!!!! This is voyeurism plain and simple.... and even worse if the OP is underage. There is no way this is a security camera. Also, dont use alcoholism or anything else as an excuse here, thats just dumb. He is a predator, no questions asked.
Story 5: Wow, this guy is a complete lazy man-child here. Even if he worked super-late, he still is old enough to be able to clean his own clothes. Im surprised that the OP is tolerating this at all. Tell him to shape up, or consider leaving him, because you can guarantee things will be much more worse once you move in.

Story #3: from that title alone let me just tell you the app should be paying for the damages and literally not blame OP for not leaving her stuff out and OP has the right to refuse to babysit those little demons. The mother should back her up and the Aunt should pay for the damages let alone her refusing not to pay for something that her demonic kids destroyed that wasn't theirs.
Story #5: the boyfriend should be doing his own wash and shouldn't rely on a woman to do it especially when he is in college and the OP was asleep but in the middle of a dead sleep he wanted her to do it. I would be like f*k no if I were in her shoes. She needs to leave him and dump him. Seriously there was a perfect time and a place for you to get your wash done and waking up someone in the middle of a dead sleep isn't the answer.

Absolutely. I used to have to babysit any one of my four nephews or my two godsons at a moment's notice. No compensation in return by the way. My two oldest nephews were the worst because they were on the spectrum and the youngest of the two was also adhd. Naturally their parents (my older brother and his then wife) tried to brush all of their behavioral issues under the neurodivergent umbrella. Didn't have cell phones back then, but the younger of the two thought it was a great idea to punt my teacup Yorkie across the room like a football. I dropped everything I was holding, stomped across the room and slapped him as hard as I could. He fell on his butt, crying and wailing to the point that he was hiccuping. I called his mom on the spot. She asked why her son was crying. I told her what he did. She asked then she conceded that it sounded something he would do. She then volunteered that he had been really rough with her mother's cats. I told her I was going to spank him again and he protested. She said to spank him for talking back. We had a nice long talk when she came to pick the kids up. I told her that she was nullifying her role as their mother by putting all of the authority onto her deadbeat husband. I told her that her boys respected her parents more than they respected her. That seemed to flip a switch in her and she started being more stern with them. Good thing that they started respecting her because my older brother and her split up. She was a single mom of two high functioning autistic boys for many years until she finally met their stepfather. They're wonderful young men now, but for those first several years up until they were 9 or 10, they were very difficult to contend with. I know I went off on one here, but the point is is that babysitters are not slave labor. I refuse to watch either of them until they were properly disciplined. I also had the stipulation that if they got out of line or were destructive or disrespectful in any way shape or form that I would be allowed to discipline them myself. Their mother had no problem with it and my older brother couldn't have cared less as long as he was not the one having to deal with his two kids.

I want to say in my own personal opinion. The stories with the sister asking, is she the jerk for not wanting her sister to be a bridesmaid. I want to say that doesn’t sound like a loss to her. It sounds like the sister wanted someone else to be the bridesmaid and original poster did say it hurt my feelings and not to be rude, but we only get one side of the story. Most of the time so far all we know she could’ve gone in and told her parents oh my sister doesn’t want me to be a bridesmaid no in the parent. knowing the parents would say to have the sister be a bridesmaid. Because in general, it sounded like the sister didn’t want her sister to be the bridesmaid, and it sounds almost like she weaseled her way in.
