Such a masterpiece. The tension, the evilness of Luthor, the Superman's desolation, the Bruce's anger. Underrated and overhated movie. I love it.
Opening To Batman Begins 2005 DVD
The Batman 2022 opening dialogue?
Lol, total nonsense. Basic investigation would tell you lasers didn't do this. And nobody cared to check. All of the drama is based on characters catching the ball of being dumb, especially the detective genius Bruce.
BvS was such a masterpiece.
I think the main reason it got so much hate was because it was released during the wrong time. Everyone and their Grandma were hyped for the Avengers movies. The general audience were expecting all superhero movies to be like the MCU movies. And when this movies was released during that era, people were just confused. They just didn't know how to take it in.
And with the head of WB that time being a bunch of buffoons with no cojones, they fked up the sequels and the whole project.
Oof
Superman could easily enslave the entire human race, but instead agrees to stand trial in a human court. That should show the kind of person he is

This scene is unparalleled .Peak filmmaking right here
Solid acting...very true
This movie had great acting from Henry and Ben and a good initial fight scene, but little to offer outside of that.
This movie sucks man, Zach Snyder ruins every film he touches
Giving people cool costumes and filming them with high-pitched soundtrack isn't a peak filming. Even for the superheroics fanboys.
Unparalleled? It's a direct ripoff from Game of thrones.
I've always been fascinated by the "what if" of this scene.
How would this trial have gone if Lex Luthor hadn't planted the bomb? Superman's trial would have been the most interesting court room scene if not for that diseased manic bombing the capitol.
In fact, there was an early version of the script that I found that exploded in the library, and there was a whole argument in court, but unfortunately that version was never presented, and I believe that there must be a universe in the multiverse that would have made that beautiful script!!!
@@lanelois7457, according to the multi-verse that did happen
I don't know. Jury doesn't really work on him. Everyone understands he's above any law. You can't make him pay contributions in money because nobody wants him working as an ordinary man, he isn't one. Nobody can take him into custody because it's not really a custody if you can escape at any given moment. All they can decide on him is, like, asking to do the socially useful work, like spinning electricity turbines the whole day or being called to help in fires, at war, anywhere people need a superhuman. Which - it's very funny - he was trying to do in the first place.
It is the mock trial. They wouldn't be able to decide anything new on him. No matter how it goes, the result is a joke.
@@meyearsago-lc8bqactually they could since Superman is now apart of society and the laws to apply on him. You can't deny that thousands of innocents died for nothing during his fight with Zod where he was throwing him in buildings rather than taking the fight to a deserted land (before Zod learned to fly) that's the whole point of the trial. Killing people for the sake of greater good isn't a excuse. Since you can always deny the severity of a few people dying to save millions what stops you from justifying death of millions to save billions when you could actually prevent those deaths without sacrifice ?
@@livetochange974You need to rewatch the scene. Superman tries countless times to shift the fight but he can't because he's fighting an enemy that can match him.
And every advantage he wastes trying to do damage control, Zod punishes. He is beat down with each attempt.
Superman was faced with a choice of either keep trying to damage control or suck it up and beat Zod as quickly as he can so as not to prolong chances of collateral.

The way he gently opens and shuts the gate behind him; truly an underrated shot. The restraint and calm he has to control at all times for the most menial of actions and movements.
There was an episode of, I believe Lois and Clark, where Clark expressed how exhausting it is to restrain himself around people all the time, so as not to break them with a mere thought.

I feel like you can literally see his heart breaking.
Technically he does have the power to save them but he couldn't react in time.. Superman is extremely fast (not as fast as the flash, but still fast). If he could have reacted fast enough, he could have saved most of them.

They went with that as well but the scene that revealed this was after the explosion and comes out of the blue. What made it bizarre and ultimately cut from the theatrical release is that it wasn't Superman who revealed he can't see through lead it it was Lois who tells Superman the chair was made of lead and tells him it wasn't his fault since he couldn't see it, establishing that somehow she knew Superman can't see through lead, even though prior to this there was no evidence that he can't see through lead in the DCEU , and something of that magnitude would have had to be established earlier in the film for all of it to work which it never was

Honestly, this scene perfectly represents why I feel Henry was utterly let down on portraying an accurate Superman. Yes, fine, we can have the shocking scene where Lex bombs everyone and frames Superman. But could we not have 2 minutes of Clark speaking for himself in front of the world? Show the good in him, the hero, the leader? Same with the scenes with Jor-El in MOS. My God, I cannot tell you how much I want exposition man (Jor-El) to just shush so Clark can voice how feels. About humanity, about Lois, about his purpose in life? Just something. But so often in MOS, Clark seems so passive, a participant. And I know people will push the 'Zack was building towards the Superman we know' argument, but to me, there's just so many scenes in the Snyderverse where, even as the movies progress, Clark is portrayed taking a back seat, letting Jor-El, for instance, voice to the audience things about Clark what Clark should be speaking himself. And naturally this robbed Henry of the opportunity to showcase his ability, let alone the Superman of 'hope and optimism' he was desperate to convey upon his supposed return. Henry deserved better.

@@T-Rod91 What
@@Metrion77 Did he not do that lol
@@tobsonasanya4765 Did you see him doing any of that before angsting? Or was his first response to stand around and mope?
@@Metrion77 he did help after this scene but the people was getting scared of him
The music after explosion where Superman standing in fire around him is completely amazing i rewind to hear again
Great name mate!
No matter how powerful u are. There even moments where u can feel powerless

Fran Platypus I know right
such a fantastic film.
Walked in there like he standin on bidness 😂
his face after realizing he couldn't save them makes my heart break into a million pieces..
Did he TRY to save anyone? Seems like he's standing still while people are dying under rubble.
@@Metrion77 huh? Are you that bland, be couldn’t see the bomb because Lex had aligned lead everywhere so Superman could not see and save everyone. He had no idea that the bomb would go off, he didn’t even know there was a bomb. If you didn’t know, lead stops Superman from using his powers on it. Obviously you have not read the comics.
@@2pactingz762 Not bland at all, thanks. Ignoring all the plotholes around the wheelchair, I'm talking about AFTER the explosion. He's standing around rather than looking for survivors.
@@2pactingz762 we have seen him track the Flash so he could obviously see the explosion when it was just starting, breaching the lead case. He could have wrapped himself around it or thrown it at Mach 50 into space.
And, don’t you think he should have been more curious when the senator got distracted, stopped talking and glanced around. Also, I would automatically get suspicious whenever I was anywhere near any lead-lines container.
Finally, a ultra-bottom heavy 1000 pound wheelchair would set off all sort of attention in a security screening. Also, it would test positive for explosive residue. Of somehow they bypassed this, they would still inspect the wheelchair and discover that it has a hidden lead-lined box.
Superman: "My head...wasn't in the game that day. So....using my super speed, I decided to go clear my head a bit. I just felt, stuck. all my life I've always been whatever the city wanted me to be. then I realized....I DO have a choice! nobody said this "tragic hero" thing had to be a lifetime gig! but ya can't just quit either. that's when I had the brilliant Idea.... *to reverse time like I did in the original superman."*
I don't know why, but Cavill's entrance is just badass for some reason.
Thank you! I commented on this months ago but it got lost down here...
I hate this movie. I hate all of the stupid plotholes that led to this scene. I hate how Cavill reacts to the bomb.
But that entrance was great.
@@Metrion77 what ... people hate what they don't understand 💯 bro... there are no plot holes in this movies
@@100mcreations6 lol good joke bro.
@@Metrion77 I mean for me
the walk reflect the confidence in superman
Joker was right: “they need you now but… when they don’t… they’ll cast you out. See I’m not a monster… I’m just ahead of the curve. “
This movie is the best example of how people would react to being with this power among them, no other comics movie has ever done anything close to that realism
The Boys did it too. And quite well
Iron man 2, when the government wanted his suites. Boom!
ye the boys is quite realistic
I mean civil war was also based on this.
Watchmen
Well I wasn't surprised for I gave him fire resistance potion and blast protection armour. It worked just fine.
Underrated comment 😂
And he had epic shaders and texture pack
@@BrineMC Yep
@@BrineMC lmfao
You are a Minecraft Player.
best entrance
The moment Supes realise something was off, he should’ve went into superspeed and take the bomb out. I guess he’s not fast enough.
The older i get the more this scene means to me, life, good intentions, those that have designs for control, the futility of good people fighting against the engine of greed and a selfish quest for power, yet still the good do what they can knowing they cannot win.
Depends on what you define as a "win"
Ah...so that's what a 49" chest looks like...
...man I need to workout...
@Jurica Sambol probably means health.
@Jurica Sambol didn't see that typo. Thanks
The fact Superhero in this clip didn't seem like a dude in cosplay but rather had an aura of a god or a all mighty alien here fascinates me.Really shows how much direction and cinematography is important
superman te quiero
Damn that walk gives me chills
Conor vs cowboy, who ya got?
1:01 who peed in my glass ?
Bas yr
He can do everything but he could not do anything....
Thats what saddens me the most in this scene
I just remembered that Senator Finch is played by Holly Hunter, the same woman who is Helen Parr (Mrs. Incredible) from "The Incredibles".
S : Hmm, why would a lead coated chair be in the middle of a courtroom?
S : Anyway I'm off to attend the trial
For all he knows; this is a courtroom and the chair has already been checked like everyone else for weapons and bombs, his not a detective and probably thinks it was made like that for the witnesses protection or something.
I've been sitting in this chair for last 20 minutes and I just noticed this hand labeled mason jar sitting in front of me.
I've seen someone saying that Superman is just discovering his powers, so lead doesn't alarm him yet
It also seemed like that wasn't his priority, his focus was on the court not on scanning the room
@@cody8014 yeah, exactly he didn't scan the chair to find out that he can't
