Great video! However its a bit incorrect to say that both FSH and LH is secretet from the pituaitary gland after estrogen levels has risen. Since inhibin secreted from the grafeen follicle inhibits the secretion of FSH thus only LH is released from the positive feedback of high estrogen levels.

hey, so after andrestenedione gets converted into estrogen, the estrogen will be rising making the pituitary gland stop gnrh.
also it activated the pituitary gland by rising levels of estrogen by producing more gnrh 1-2 days before ovulation.
so estrogen can perform a negative and positive feedback before ovulation????

Its the secondary oocyte which is released at day 14,
the egg attains maturity (i.e second meiotic division) only after fertilisation with the sperm.

I recommend to leave out the intermediates such as pregnenolone and 17-B-estradiol, and just say for example "Side chain cleavage enzyme is the rate limiting step in converting cholesterol into progesterone" or use progestines for umbrella term. These specific intermediates are not important at least in my university (Tromso, Norway) (I study odontology second year, we are learning the same as the medical students right now) and I think it makes it more confusing for some of the viewers. Otherwise a good overview.

@@anne-marie7708 I suppose most people watching are supplying their lectures they didn't fully understand, so it can be good to have it here. However I doubt you will ever be questioned on these specific molecule intermediates, since they really serve no immediate function other than being an intermediate. The essence of the process is what the enzyme does. For the people with extra interests it can be nuancing I guess

@@anne-marie7708 Yeah, I mean I see where you're coming from. Atm drilling a bazillion interactions between immune cells, CD40(L), CD80, TCR, NKG2D, PD-L1, PD-L2, this activates that but cannot without this and so that happened etc🥲 Although it is good that some of these things they want students to know so the understanding goes a bit deeper, and knowing how things work on a molecular level, even if it's just technical details with no real world appliance for a dentist, or a MD for that matter. I think some of it is good while some is tedious. But everyone is going through the same !🙂
