What about when you have vr lens already in the headset? Will these still attach with my lens there too?
I like these new companies coming up and love that Meta is making the brand open-source.
they aren't quite there yet but they're working on it
Their halfasses. They should have had this product out already. And reflections? The tracking of the quest 3 controllers are already terrible enough. One little scrape of a surface and the tracking goes poof, even if just having the controllers laying on a surface I've had to remove the batter and put it back in just to get it to go back to tracking. What makes you think if they messed the controllers up that these lenses are going to work any better.
@@hexshadow6647Interesting, my tracking issues have been slight
@@hexshadow6647 you do realize the reason why the tracking is "ass" in your mind is because it uses IR to see where they are I believe.
Get a lighthouse tracked headset if you're so pissy.
It'd be brutally important to make it like the Vision Pro and incorporate the eye-tracking into the OS; that would be a GIGANTIC thing for the medium. META completely dropped the ball with eye-tracking, and I really hope they offer support and work with this company to make a good implementation of the technology.
They're probably going to try to buy them or destroy them with lawfare.
Love to see people pushing boundaries with AR in public spaces. I made the “unhinged” decision to use my quest 3 as my laptop for college courses.
Will it work with prescription lenses??
I don't think so based on what he said. But maybe they can work it in somehow at launch.
Provably would have to get new inserts that fit in their adapter.
they answered it on the website. There will be prescription lenses, but for an extra cost.
My psvr2’s eye tracking works with prescription lenses.
It probably depends if the lenses took eye tracking support in mind.
Not with normal ones, but they will be making ones themselves
I really want rto know if this will work with glasses, I'm guessing not but will we beable to use perscption lences with this acessory
the most important thing in this is the possibility to have lower power IR lights in our eyes.
I have a prescription lens attached to the Quest. Looks like I won't be able to use the eye tracker
How would this eye tracking be effected by prescription lenses? I can't use those headset lenses due to a lazy eye.
you mentioned spotify is there any native way to download spotify on quest becouse i have not find any native way if doing that neither on quest 2 or 3 i had to use sidequest and sideload something as lightning launcher to do that
I wonder if the eye tracker works still if the audio port is completely busted on the quest 2, cause mines broken but the rest of the quest 2 works still.
the main issue I see here is that eye tracking device of course is attached to the side of the vr glass and requires to be connected to that ONLY one USB port available which I normally use for my bobovr headstrap with an 10ah extra battery. doesnt make sense to ne.
I'd love to get a Quest 3. I have a Quest 2 but would love to upgrade. Winning one would help since I will have to pay for the prescription lenses. I love the idea of tracking, but yeah I am not sure if I can use this with my glasses.
I wonder how that's gonna work with battery extensions..It looks like it has a usb and mic slot under it.. not sure though
I reserved a dollar, as there's no risk.
Same! I will try to see if we can get it quickly so that we can test it out and help others decide if they want to secure it or not.
@@jaybrattI’ve been hoping you would be looking into this! I saw this advertised on Instagram a few weeks ago. It’s super interesting
@@jaybrattBut it sounds like you will have to pay for prescription lenses…..already done with Reloptix! 😩
@jaybratt I wonder if I could use the eye tracking device if I have prescription lenses in my Quest 3 already. I know you mentioned on the video about it, but you didn't seem to know for sure. Anyway to get a definite answer.
I’m personally doing the eyetracker VR open source project with the kit which so far is cost me around $80
I am worried about if they can approximate eye brow movement with this kind of eye tracking, because eyebrows are a big part of facial gestures. This is still awesome from the foveate rendering perspective though!
i love this but waiting to see what games support it and if VD will support it?
Is there a possible Pico 4 compatibility?
I can only preorder for $139. Did they raise the price?
so is it like you can preorder a whole tracker for only $1 with your link
Hold up what about prescription lenses?
My psvr2 eye tracking is unbelievable
Ok but who asked? This is the quest gang.
@-never-gonna-give-you-up- I have a quest 3, my point is if they get eye tracking it will be awesome because it works great in my psvr2
@@-never-gonna-give-you-up- I think it's pretty relevant to the video 😂
I have been waiting for eye tracking and foveated rendering. The Quest Pro was a huge disappointment for me, as I couldn't afford it. The Quest 3 was disappointing because it didn't have it. If this tech is easier to implement, then I am down.
I like using VR to edit 3D printer files. It's so much easier to edit 3D objects in 3D space than on a 2D screen.
So in regards to augments. Over the last several years I've been scanning in everything i can from my life. From family photos to oversized keepsakes. My goal is when everything has been digitized I can finally throw it all away in the hopes that one day I'll get it all back anyway with MVR and AI 3d rendering. I can show off my collection and not have it take up any physical space, and still have a back up even if my place burns to the ground. There's studies showing how clutter is impactful on mental health in a negetive way. Soon I hope to have my cake at eat it too.
Wow!! That's a brilliant thought! No more risk of losing the objects and memories attached if they're safe with multiple digital copies
I wouldn't really recommend throwing away family photos, they're small and I have lost photos far more often from digital storage or cloud storage corruption, meanwhile my family still has 50-90 year old photos from over the years. Better to keep family photos physical AND digital IMO. With the progression of technology, the physical is assured, but digital data can be lost and servers can be destroyed.
didn't they do that to a country that was like.. sinking? it's proven to work.
@@jaybratt Servers corrupted data lost. I had to go into the community manager office and show my PAPER MONEY ORDERS that I use because I refuse to use their digital services. OH LOOK they somehow dont have record of my payments, LUCKILY I print off the paper when I transact. I was able to prove my rent payments. Their corporate logs, and local office logs seemed to magically lose mutliple digital copies of my payments. NO I will never say "no more risk" because digital information can be modified slowly over time without people knowing. Thats why paper books and online versions are showing signs of brainwashing by changing semantics used and wording and IT CHANGES the entire contention. In this way, I say digital is a NICE ADDED security, but nothing beats real world items and experience. Ill keep my REAL massage guns, my REAL weights, motorcycle, and photos.... because at the end of the day. That paper will never get corrupted. A virus. or Hacked. I love the enthusiasm, just lets me realistic here!
I would love to use the mixed reality around some of the things, but I don't know what they did recently with the updates, but it seems like my tracking cameras like in 30 frames per second it doesn't seem as smooth as it used to and it kind of seems like the tracking lags behind.
At least it's less warped now
What happened to the audio quality at the end
That's actually incredible! Love innovation in the space.
This is very interesting, thank you for making this video and informing all of us about this.
Hope any eye tracking addons will work with my Zenni lenses
The Eye Tracker is really interesting but i just can't go back to only stock battery with the quest 3 after playing so long with the bobo S3.
They should've added some kind of power throughput or something and it would be a safe buy for me even tho it's not garanteed that developers are going to support it.
But like it is now, throwing me back to stock battery life, no way.
Wait my battery extendor has a slot for stuff dosnt yours?
The eye tracker hooks on to the regular port, and then you can plug whatever power stuff you had before into it like normal.
So i finally started my trial of Quest+ and i see many games heavily discounted with it. Question that i have, would those game stuck if my subscription ends? I only found old threads when there were no discounts.
If you are 'buying the game' even with a Quest+ discount then yes you'll still keep it after. You only lose the monthly "free" ones and the game catalog library of other ones you get to play for free.
i like practice 3d modeling in the quest, is kinda nice having some of those apps in it, and would be nice be able to record 3d video on the quest, to replay in it too. but seems it only do 2d video, kinda ironic.
Yeah but......what apps are going to support it?
VR chat at least
Immersed. Apps that matter etc lol
Not even one.
sounds interestingly but... i dont think it will work for people who wear glasses or have prescrpition lens inserts
If you look on the website link, there's a discussion tab that answers this and they said you can order them with presciption lenses. So it will be an option!
@@ewokkris wait really!? Oh that'll be AWESOME!!
Hey, Great video as always Jay! I was just wondering, what was the game that you were playing at the 1:10 minute mark? Also, what games would you recommend that are realistic? I have a 4080 and I have only played VRchat on my quest 3 since I got it. Thank you so much!
hubris i think
I like the idea of an eye tracker, but I would want to be able to insert my prescription lenses like I did with my quest 2.
Q: will the eye tracker work with glasses since it uses infrared light ?
There used to be a home makeover type show in the uk where they 3d modeled the house and they toured it in vr before they started to build. That would definitly be something I would use for my house and hopefully makes a comeback as vr gains traction
Yes!! That seems like a no brainer because it is so much easier to visualize and I'd assume it's cheaper but I guess 3D modelers recreating a house wouldn't be too cheap either.
Jay: What do you use VR for that's not gaming?
Me: You KNOW what we both use it for when we ain't gaming...*Smirk* 😏
I just want to make sure that augments are shareable.
That way my wife and I can both walk around in augmented reality.
I’m confused can I buy the eye tracker for 1 dollar or if I spend the dollar I get a discount that I don’t know the price of?
As I read it, pay $1 now and the future product will *only* cost $100 at launch. This implies a reserved discount and that the actual product un-reserved will cost more than $100.
i can't access the giveaway. didn't have problems with the last givaways. it asks for an email, then asks me to sign in and once i sign into discord it just takes me back to saying it needs my email... :(
This could potentially help with the motion sickness and nausea when playing, because VR doesn't really render the depth of what you are looking at e.g. if you were focussing on something close it would still render things further away causing eye strain and motion sickness, whereas irl your eyes can only focus on a thing at a time.
I’m only just got my tracking for my first quest, my first VR headset, but I’ll reserve a dollar for this. I truly believe VR is a game changer that NEEDS to be more accessible to everyone. I may not buy the actual eye tracker, but being able to reserve a dollar to potentially help progress a new(?) competitor in VR anything is worth it.
I use perscription inserts already :(
Bigscreen beyond PLEASE I need this
i really desperately want a return to PCVR. or at least an affordable tethered PCVR headset like what the PSVR2. because even though i'm pretty much set on the PSVR2 when the adapter drops, i still like to have options. just ditch the battery and MR/AR capabilities of the quest 3, slash that price down like 25% and i'm buying.
So this new thing uses the USB-C port which makes the use of extra battery straps like the bobovr completely useless....
So, that Inseye Lumi seems really cool, but there is one extremely Important detail I can't find anywhere.
Eye tracking is clearly very useful for that special dynamic rendering method and simply tracking your eyes to move the eyes of your in game avatar.
But, does that work in Standalone mode, in PC mode (With Quest Link or Air Link or Virtual Desktop or something like that) or both?
That is extremely important information
I for example always play games on my PC
So if this only works in standalone mode it's useless for me
back in my day (2016) if you looked any were but straight ahead your eyes hurt. the fact we can now move our eyes instead of having to move your whole head is already leaps ahead.
Ok but insanely important question
Will i be possible to use these with your prescription lenses
No :( They'd have to add their own option that would fit behind the tracker
@@jaybratt I went to the link below and they do acknowledge the existent of custom made prescription lenses so I think there is going to be some sort of support for them
i went ahead and put the 1$ down. Ill try it at a cheap enough price range...
we are a family of quest 3. family of 3 quest 3's? we have 3 we are family and we have 3 👌
Hi!
Very impressed with all your ocular physiology-I had to go to med school to learn all that! I think it would be cool to have eye tracking and not pay AVP money to use it. Guess I have to give up that dollar for now….
Haha, I literally learned all of that over the last 6 years with learning about VR and none of it in school. Mostly on Reddit too so that's saying something :D
@@jaybrattCould have saved alot of money going to Reddit instead of med school!!!! 😒
@@Eagledocstew i feel like a med school certificate has a bit more merit than a reddit certificate though 😂
@@joogled1839 But a Redditt certificate costs a whole lot less! 🤓
About the foveated rendering, games need to have that built in, if they don't have it, it doesn't matter if you got the item for it, it simply will not work. There will be people that get it, and expect it to work with every game when it simply cannot as well, the game doesn't support it. More game companies will need to start moving towards dynamic foveated rendering if you want this to be a thing, so until then, I would say save your money because there is literally a handful of PCVR games that utilize DFR. The other thing is, will they work with prescription lenses. If you wear glasses, then you better pull that headset away, because from those renders, the emitters inside the unit look like they will be coming out of the headset a good amount.
I'm interested in eye tracking if it works. I'll be getting it if it works for my quest 3.
Thank you, I put down a deposit.
Sounds great but since it’s third party a lot of devs probably won’t even support this product to its full potential. I bought the Bhaptics vest and slightly disappointed with how many games support it. If Quest 4 has eye tracking then this could be worth while to use on the 3 maybe? Just seems a bit complicated when really thinking about it.
Eye tracking in the Quest 3 will be Huge. That will essentially turn the Q3 into THE top headset recommendation for this particular era in VR....So as long as Meta incorporates Inseye's solution into the MetaOS. A Quest 3 with eyetracking that improves game performance, but also introduces compatibility with quest pro apps, could possibly upset an incoming Quest Pro 2's market.
I saw a shorts video the other day with you in it and some of the footage was from your glasses. It really fitted well with the rest of the footage. It was really good to see some of the footage from them integrated into the video without making a big show and tell about the camera glasses. Very impressive!
I'll probably still get this as the Quest 3 is 300 times more comfortable than the Quest Pro, the only issue is that after buying the addon you could easily pick up a Quest Pro as they go on sale from Meta for Half price quite often and get Facial Tracking too. If you was to get this and wanted it for something like the VRChat and then wanted Facial Tracking.. The Vive Facial Tracker now costs $300+..
Put my preorder in instantly when you said $100.
Never pre-order 🤦♂️ especially from new companies
@@filipivan5125 You can't preorder just yet. Its just a $1 reservation of a discount. So if it does come out it'll be $100 instead of $150.
The issue is that even if eye tracking is low latency, the PCVR isn't. So just like you can see the blur moving when using SteamLink on Quest Pro with fovated eyetracked encoding due to latency, you will see the blur moving a tad bit too late even with this addon. It's nice to have a cheap eye tracking option for Quest 2 and 3 but for fovated rendering it won't be as good as it could be.
Steam link? That's your first mistake. That's why no one uses fbt on steam link since not there yet. Virtual desktop on the other hand different story and to top that off its not wireless only wireless products produce easy forms of high latency so this means even for steam link it will be fine since it's hardwired into the headset as if it's part of it
It would be like saying quest pro eye tracking sucks through steam link
@@NekoSinonTv Neither Steam Link nor Virtual Desktop can be used with a cable. Not to mention even Oculus Link with USB cable still has higher latency than native PCVR headset. Eye tracked fovated rendering will lag behind just like it lags behind on Quest Pro + Steam link. And Steam link can get even lower latency than other solutions yet it's not perfect.
Interesting idea, Jay. But as someone that's had a Sim Racing Channel in the past. I hope that the section of your video that showed the LTT TV, where his staff was pointing out where he was looking, now doesn't suddenly show up in the recorded RACING / FLIGHT SIM video's etc. As this would (arguably?) make it terrible to watch for viewers of YT video's. But I'm guessing / hoping that the output straight to the monitor would show it as normal clear vision???
From looking at your channel I'm guessing you're doing mostly PC? This is very obvious to PSVR2 and there doesn't seem to be an option for the social screen on it to not also show the foveated rendering. It's an interesting question because I haven't used enough PC headsets with eye tracking to know if this would run into the same issue for making videos on it. If you learn more I'd love to hear back what you found out as a quick googling was no help for me. It kept thinking I was talking about using foveated rendering with an eye tracker for flat gaming.
❤ Please let Quest-4 just come with Eyetracked-Foveated-Rendering (DFR) by default so the VR industry as a whole can start to get high graphics games and begin to truly shine. Sensored-ir DFR or Cam DFR anything to get the good games flowing. VR needs DFR to grow beyond being an hmd Nanny for kids with current games. All companies headsets need DFR standard for VR to grow. :)
Hopefully this new tech can help companies make the DFR standard happen.
❤Thanks Jay!❤
I will wait for meta buying this
as cool as this is, aftermarket upgrades like this will not mean that we will have a lot more software making use of it. hopefully, in the next major quest iteration, we get eye tracking and a neural band. Would be an insane moment for XR.
I wouldn't say it's worth it overall. It is enough that the display of the helmet shines in your eyes through lenses, and that it also shines. Blurring may increase the footage, but it will ruin the feeling. The only useful thing about this is if your avatar will look where you are and where you are.
2:09 fancy tech speak for camera lol wtf
The developing is good of Quest3, so that we insist making accessories about it. Also have Vision Pro, PICO.
9:27 wtf happened lol buddy pal
Hi
What charging dock do you recommend
@@user-cb5tw9st6k Kiwi design has the best headstrap and also a charging dock for it, works great!
This eye tracking won't work with prescription lenses. I love the prescription lenses. Makes it seem like I don't wear glasses. Hopefully a future incarnation will account for that.
I just want eye tracking and mouth tracking on my quest 3.
This at least gives one of those, the eye tracking. Would be nice if full facial tracking could be added on, to bring inro line with the Quest Pro.
But meta sellling data about ur eye tracking would be dangerous , imagine having ur data about the content u watched or used on quest with exact eye pattern to where u actully looked and what items u focused on .
Quest needs to make it easier to mod they made it impossible after last update at least with coded mods
Take my money now!!!!!
Same!! Especially for the $100 early price... although it feels weird they told us they can basically make these for $10 :D
Won't buy anything until I see what kind of software support it's getting.
Sony VR2 was the choice I made but it seems it may have been a mistake. They make a PC adapter that doesn't work with eye tracking/foveated rendering, no HDR and no haptics. I'm sorry but I may have made a mistake when I sold my Quest 2. I jumped ship thinking Sony would be the better choice but as it turns out, Meta is the company actually willing to spend money to make VR happen. Sony? I'm disappointed.
I feel like this would be wasted on the quest 2 because of the crap Fresnel lenses. But this would go great with the quest 3.
I signed up for it but, I am already disappointed with it. I didn't realize it tell I took a look at it. I think it was mentioned in this video but, I was at work. Anyway, the quest 3 an external battery pack is a staple but, with this thing you won't be able to use it with a battery pack.
Can we get ButtTracking?
Linus Drop Tips !!!
Playing minecraft on my new ps5
I play it on my old quest 3 with my brother on my even older quest 2😅
@jefmoesy sometimes I play it on quest 3 bur the render distance sucks
That would be crazy if I tracking would come and metaquest 3
My questions is...okay and? This is third party hardware, the OS will still detect it as Quest 3 and hence incapable of eye tracking aka not making use of it...unless Meta support it officially (never gonna happen).
Yeah im going to wait for an actual use case. Feels unlikely for developers to bother unless its integrated automatically@maximusasauluk7359
They got me dollar
It's cool, but to me it doesn't seem to really be worth it and Id rather spend that 100 bucks to get a better GPU when I'm upgrading my PC, since Ill be using that one a lot longer than my quest 3.
$100 for eye tracking sounds like a great deal, but I don’t have the money for that, let alone the normal $160 :(
Get your money up
I can gamble $1 dollar for Eye Tracking
i understand a lot more better👁️👀
I just signed up for the Quest 3 thing. Wish me luck. My headset died and I miss playing contractors 😅
Best of luck :)
None of these hardware updates solve the major issue that quest has; lack of decent software
all im hearing is that the quest 4 is going to cost $700
so much for affordable standalone vr

True, and in this world it's good to be cautious, but there were a lot of products that wound up on Shark Tank/Dragon's Den that had me going...uhhhh what? However, that said, there's a psychological element of "putting money where your mouth is". Also, they appear to be a small company. They need hard data beyond "we got this many visits to the website" in order to draw the interest of investors and big name brands. Simple "hits to the website" isn't going to be very impressive without viral loads of them, but people willing to go though the process of paying for something even if it's a dollar shows a committed interest.
I’m in for a dollar.
inseye will only be half way decent for foveated rendering, and garbage for all other use. it's lacking too many capabilities for eye tracking use.
I'll stick with EyeTrackVR on my quest 3 thanks.
