So here it is! Our long awaited Episode 2 of our most popular video ever. So many of you sent beautiful guitars of all kinds. Acoustic, electric, light up, AI inspired--all sorts! We had a very hard job whittling down the list to pick our top 5 guitars each. In this video, we'll react to the photos of each guitar, discussing build aesthetics, design choices, techniques. We'll also hear each guitar and react honestly to their sound. We had lots of fun making this, and hope that you all enjoy watching, so strap up and get the popcorn out!

Thanks for the feature Tom. Guess I'll have to get the trademark on Hippie Carbon Fiber now. 😁
🤣
This is as lovely as the come! I'd love to hear some Paganini, Terrega, or Metheny on your creation! What a treat!!
I'll never be able to go there, but what is the approximate cost of this beautiful muse!?! 🤯👍
@@bradrehn1007 Thanks, glad to hear that! This guitar would be around 5000€ at the moment.
This is my top pick from this collection. The sound via my Sennheisers was sublime. The design aesthetic is world class. Maybe one day ...
@@RocktCityTim glad you liked it. I have a build video on my page if you are interested ;-)
Thank you so much for the feature Tom! I appreciate the feedback from you and Tony. I hope you will keep it going and continue spreading the love for all of the killer builders in the community. Well done ☺
Insane guitar man, beyond next level
It's incredible to see the ideas being developed. One can only wish them luck in being able to continue. Loved the big blonde maple.
Thanks for turning us onto some wonderful luthiers. More please!!!
Welcome dude!
I really enjoyed it as I work on fitting a neck to my second acoustic build. Yes I’d like to see more.
Ah amazing! Hopefully we can feature it one day
Even when they hadn't shown him, I immediately recognised Dustin Furlow's Airborne 😊
Thanks Cedar Rock Studio
Man, I didn’t know you were doing these, I would’ve sent you some videos and pics of the three builds I just completed, I’ve made 5 guitars and a bass, they’re all so different and it’s been a passion of mine for about 5-6 years, I think you’d dig them!
Next time!
Yes, part 3 please!
It’s coming
Love that Jon Parsons guitar!! Sheeeeesh!!
Me too. Wanna share it?
Great vid! So many talented builders out there... and really unique at that. And LOVED seeing Tony on board!! Thanks for the great content, guys!!
Our pleasure!
Fantastic show. Thanks so much, and for the excellent features (and playing)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for the video and especially for the review of my very special guitar. I do not see it at all as being over the top, but a masterpiece of an instrument and a piece of artistic beauty. Working with Tyler was a joy, and perhaps for him at times a nightmare, as we were constantly pushing the project into something beyond all expectations. IT is magical, and again thank you for giving Tyler all the kudo's he deserves
Hey Louis! Congrats on an awesome instrument, Tyler is such a great guy and amazing builder 👌
The Tyler is astounding in both sound and beauty... I admittedly am a Dali-nian, but that nearly surreal piece transcends art, embracing the etheral with the warmth of the human heart...
Kudos
I like the hairy guest! Neat guitars too!
🤣🙏❤️
That wolf thing....if you used a DP/DT 3 way it would have been even more interesting. Hum, single, parallel....I love the parallel setting....the best of both worlds.
I was just about to start my very first guitar build project, now I don't know if I am disheartened by the talent that is out there that I could not match even if I had my fairly extensive lifetime over again, or inspired to give it a go and try leave an instrument that will outlive me. More please.
We were all at the start of our journey once upon a time, having the same feelings as you. Push through it and take inspiration from all the talent ✌🏻
Amen
Great video Tom, and thank you Tony, also...
Glad you enjoyed it
Please do more
3 yes!!! I'm on the edge of my seat with a magnifying glass and a bucket to catch the drool
More Please, you guys are Great!!!!!!

Thank you!
two rad guitar dudes talkin' up my fave subject .. . LOVE THIS!
Which was your favourite???
@@TomSandsGuitars approx. halfway thru, at the mo'.....thusly, that sina mid-century vibe is very, very rad!
@@TomSandsGuitars I wonder what the Robbins "surrealism" guitar design has to do with anything, Salvador Dali, or his acolytes? Dali was well-known, if not, a torch-bearer, for his work (and innovation) in the Dada, Surreal, and Cubist art movements, and i don't see any correlation between that work and the Art Nouveau flourishes/design elements worked into this particular instrument? Perhaps Louis Markoya's work is related to art nouveau more-so than surrealism? I will say, the guitar sound is lovely, and the intricate and audacious craftsmanship of the guitar is definitely noteworthy.
@@TomSandsGuitars I have to vote the Anna Cermelli as my favorite. The shapes, the sounds, the vibes all call to me. And, the Gaudi lines and textures are so well executed.
All great choices!
Thanks this was great.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Does anyone know what song Carl Miner plays on the Sublet? It’s at 31:10 or so…. Very nice arrangement…also anyone know where to find that arrangement?
This should be a regularly scheduled program for your channel.Assuming there are enough nice guitars to find.
I agree
Wow, so many wonderful guitars! I thought Tyler Robbins' guitar looked beautiful, elegant, and sounded absolutely stunning. And then came the guitar designed utilizing AI. Big win for Human-AI team. It's pointless to even try and describe it. If it sounds anywhere as cool as it looks, music from the future will be arriving soon. Thanks for this wonderful video. 😎
Glad you enjoyed it!
daaamn
I’m thinking we need a Tom Sands electric guitar? And/or an archtop.
One day!
Sina guitars are lovely !!
Yeah I’m desperate for a bass
How inspiring !!!
The Mear and Gray OM28 is £4250... that's $5,434.60! What's the incentive for a player to purchase them if Martin's are less costly, more readily available and sound just as good?
I would imagine that the incentive is that it’s a hand built/voiced guitar as opposed to a generic, overbuilt factory instrument.
They don't sound just as good...that's the point!
SUBLET: Can you guys please disclose your thoughts on Maple? Pros & cons? THANKS
Maple is fast responding
I love using it on necks, especially torrefied
@@Mirza_Tanovic On acoustic guitars also?
I made a video recently comparing the same guitar with different components, maple back and sides, maple neck… check out my thoughts there. Super interesting experiment 🙏
@@TomSandsGuitars Thank you. I sure will check that out. Maple was my first own guitar (a 12 string)
I want the Canna! Where can I order one? Seriously.
I’m google will tell you quicker than I could!
@@TomSandsGuitars I found their website and they are actively selling! I'm def going to get a Cann Jazz. I have fallen in love again 😂
@@Dreamamine_THE_ONLY_REAL_ONE glad to help!
Hi 👋
That Tyler Robbins guitar would have been amazingly perfect with a bit more bottom end. The bass is weak. You said powerful bass? No!! The low "E" string is hollow and weak.
What were you listening through?
