- Okay, technically, Illusionist @WayneHoffman is back to show off his mind-influencing powers and a 3-in-1 trick you can apply to so much stuff... and technically Brian tries to mess everything up... but the important thing is whether JOSIE and YOU are fooled!

I remember watching Penn & Teller having a passerby select a random card from a deck of cards... Penn & Teller had 52 separate outs that they memorized...
on the beach?
that was funny as hell, imagine having to set that up
@@ganeshh6378 it's on CZcams somewhere.
I could have sworn I saw a comment saying this happened on a beach. That lead me to finding the trick. Penn & Teller: Off The Deep End (CZcams video: v=gnEGedfTrzc).
Edit: the comments are back.
I love how Josie now questions everything. She really is working her critical thinking brain.
Yeah I like to see how she's into it now
Wayne correctly predicted that I would love this video.
Thanks for the email quiz. It was really fun. And I love how you actually read them and reply back. Thank you.
This is one of the most brilliant ways to use the multiple-outs concept.
Thanks a million for this!
lol at 4:28 when they cut back they got some 'sugar lines' that suddenly appear on the table
A little bit of invisible sticky stuff on the table spelling out "SUGAR" would be a cool way to reveal the choice of the sugar. Sprinkle the sugar over it and it will stick where you wrote "SUGAR".
oooh, actually, yeah: that would be an amazing third option instead of the cell phone!
Always love a good multiple-outs routine
Also with the sugar you could also do the ashes on the arm reveal
That's a great variation on a trick that's as old as the hills. I managed to figure out the other two "outs", too. These days, when you see a phone on the table during a trick, always consider that it might just have something to do with it. :-)
I know about "multiple-outs" on item tricks, but this one was a very well done presentation.
😎
I wonder if you can have a pepper packed containing iron grains and then a magnetic design under the tablecloth. It would take some experimentation to get it to look right.
I love multiple out style tricks. The more simple the trick, the more it fools people.
What a GREAT alternative version of this effect. Thanks for sharing. Doing this one for sure
This is one of those amazing tricks that I love that I will absolutely never be able to pull off irl, because all of my friends are way too handsy and inspecting to be fooled by this. Like, they would unquestionably just instantly pick up the chip and see the underside of it and then the whole thing would be ruined lmao
You could do a variation with the magicians choice
@@CCV334 you are right..if you anticipate them overly inspecting the props you could play to that and use it..unfortunately I was hoping it wasnt multiple outs..but..its down to the performance to convince
Classic multiple outs. Funny Brian mentioned Penn and Teller. They did a huge version of this trick where they set up an entire beach scene, with all 52 cards hidden in different places so they could do a version of this with passers by. It's on CZcams somewhere.
I have a cocaine joke but it's only a one-liner.
Josie if you ever figure out how to pour out a sugar packet to show a message then you should have NO trouble Joinign the brotherhood of magicians
Wouldn't be too difficult (or maybe unrealistic would be a better word). you would just have to prep the table with some sort of light adhesive or moisture or something that the sugar could be poured onto and then it would stick specifically in the place you spelled "sugar" or something.
Fun fact, this technique (minus the props) was described, and demonstrated, on an episode of Columbo
Well done, I would have thought the last one would be on the back of the chalk board and he's have Josie turn it around.
It’s bizarre for Brian to compete with other magicians while they’re doing their trick.
It's because he knew it was going to be a Multiple Out trick, and the "influencing" part meant nothing at all :P just added flavour
And probably just wanted to give his daughter a hard time;)
Ohhh the magician's choice. Never gets old. I treat every card trick I do as a magician's choice with multiple outs. I'll have two tricks in mind, if I try to force a card and it fails, I pivot to a trick that can be done with a truly random card and finish it out, then go to the next spectator and try the force again, and so on. Sometimes it can make a really mediocre trick super impressive if it begins in an unexpected way for them.
I knew it was multiple outs the second I saw it but the great thing about multiple outs is hiding the outs making it difficult to know what the alternative would be
Maybe it's on the phone? Will watch and see if I'm right!
Seeing Josie's reaction here shows why the classics remain the classics.
I knew it was the phone lol cause I remembered a penn and teller performance where the magician said everything on stage was a part of the effect
Love this!
I'm sure a number of viewers called this one from the setup. Though I figured it would be a note or something and he'd have them in 3 different pockets and just choose the one in question., But the idea were there.
This trick needs to always be done with two duelling magicians from now on. That’s how it work now. I don’t make the rules
But you just did?....
Love it. Simply trickey
My guess for the sugar is he will produce a prediction from his pocket!
Edit - okay that’s even better!!
Hey Brian you should teach Josie & us how to do the Book test
Ahh a classic. I remember the old Columbo episode where this trick was instrumental in the murder alibi.
As an aside. It's great to see, Josie blossoming in to a confident young person. To see her developing her own style and personality. You do you just as hard as you can J!
That was insanely good, actually !
This is a little better presentation than his other tricks, but you easily think of multiple outs. The sugar was the best hiding spot, but I think it’s just cuz his phone is the same color as the table, so you forget about it.
Spinal Tap reference. "This goes to eleven."
For controlling the sugar in a 'fool us' scenario; magnets and dye? Maybe?
Check the sugar around 4:25 and then check the sugar around 4:28. Good to see these teaching moments. ;-)
Hate to say it but I guessed the multi out technique..however..the 'chip' I didnt suspect..so that was a good twist
Great trick 👍
4:30 in I have to assume there were 3 outs for this trick
Josie's nation still going strong.
only thing i guessed in this video is the phone and im not even mad
Could've sworn you just called Wayne Hoffman a "Mental and Delusionist" - but I'm drunk, so... 😉
I’m so glad Josie is involved
I wonder what might be under the table cloth, or perhaps a social media prediction since the phone is sitting right there...we'll see if I'm right!
That's awesome
This reminds me of the rock-paper-scissors video from several months ago
omg this trick is basically a programming IF THEN statement !!
Is that a Royal Oak he’s wearing 😱
I learned this type of trick from an episode of Columbo
Is Josie going through her Goth phase???
that is a trick I think jay sankey did where a prediction is on the back of one on the chip and on a piece of paper
about five secs I was like multiple outs. I do a tricks where the tick is on one and there is something on the other
nice one :-)
Influence her to lose the black lipstick. 😉
i was kinda sure that part of the actual trick (without brian messing with the performance) was that he subconsciously primed her to pick the lighter, because he made pretty obvious attempts to influence her to take the sugar and even more obvious to take the 100 but didnt push her towards the lighter. its a bit of psycological trickery, because the influencing was so obvious people will tend to actively go against it thinking they outsmarted the magician by not taking one of the primed objects, forgetting that the magician is very likely to know that is how people will react and thus the influence is successful.
havin the multiple outs is somewhat of a safety net for people who are actually still too dense to notice the intentionally obvious influences or for smartasses who think the one step ahead to the double influence.
you can have your main good story for the lighter and just have some minor copout stories for the other two items
I felt whenever he said to pick one, it represented the Lighter the way it was positioned.
nice
multiple out principal i use it all the time but i use playing cards
My only question is: does Wayne sell that out “chip” coin?
Haha. I chose the 100 dollars . Didn't work on me
Pretty sure I've said this before but isnt this the aphex twins for their audio?
I'm so frickin' gullible...
I would've chose the $100 no matter what influences.. I wouldn't even think twice or ask anything
pulls out a little note.
I wanted her to pick the sugar.
Did you put black lipstick on one of your lips Josie?
Hi
What the hell is even that !?
Where can we get the poker chip?
Who's doing that girl's makeup? Lol
I picked the sugar first
Hi👍
Oh yuck. 😢
On a scale of eleven to kangaroo...
- 👍 👍 🔧 -
Anyone got any bellagio chips I can borrow?
What's with the kid's ridiculous make-up?
2:18 Wait she laughs exactly like Brian? That's crazy
The black lipstick is a very original touch
Very Kazuma Kaneko.
Looks like spanish mustache
@@SeaSaltK lol
WTF is going on with that girl’s lip?
That black lipstick... You look like you have a moustache. Stahp.
;
Sincere Request to Josie to remove the black moustache type lipstick
Her overly baggy sweater in the middle of the Summer in Texas & her half-mouth lipstick are bothering me to a deep degree.
Yea I'm not the biggest fan either but it's her choice. Kids teens tend to do that kinda thing for attention and it seems pretty normal. There is alot worse she could be doing. Truth be told she will probably regret it later on and be embarrassed by it just like stuff I did or wore in the 90's and every other generation did. I'm honestly more worried about her oral hygiene it's none of my business and might be a reason but her teeth seem pretty stained for someone so young just hope it doesn't cause her trouble down the road that catches my eye more than the lip stick and feel like that will bother her even more in the future than how she was dressed I know I became alot more concerned with it as I got older.
Brian please let your guests do the magic without constantly being interrupted.
Please put some colour on your bottom lip 💋
