- Will this book have Prince Harry and Meghan Markle worried? | A new book by the man who broke the story that a bullying investigation into Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex’s, behaviour was to be launched at Buckingham Palace may contradict the picture painted by Prince Harry of the ‘men in grey suits’.
Royal correspondent Valentine Low has spoken to a number of the people who work behind the scenes for the Royal Family for his title Courtiers.
While palace aides are largely unknown to the public, the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden points out that they weren’t trusted by Princess Diana and are ‘figures that have been really pilloried by Harry and Meghan’.
‘They’ve always seen them as this negative, evil force in the background. Everything is always blamed on them,’ he tells our royal talk show Palace Confidential. ‘Perhaps [this book] will give a different side of things.’
The Mail on Sunday’s assistant editor Kate Mansey believes that the book by The Times journalist, which is due to be published in the autumn amid a flurry of royal tomes, will cause nerves in palace corridors.
‘I think there is a slight apprehension - [they] like being the faceless people behind the scenes pulling the levers,’ she tells Palace Confidential.
‘The idea that they’re going to be named and featured in some of these stories and anecdotes that are going to come to light in the book might give them pause for thought.’
The panel also examine the Duchess of York’s surprise purchase of a £7million property in Mayfair.
The move has upset a socialite who accepted a cut-price deal from the Duke and Duchess of York for a Swiss ski chalet after they claimed to be unable to afford her terms.
Kate Mansey points out that Fergie’s former debtors, whom she paid 10p in the pound, will also likely be unhappy.
‘They’ll be thinking “hang on a minute, I wasn’t paid the full amount that you owed me and all of a sudden you have millions in the bank to afford this investment property”.’
But the Mail on Sunday’s editor-at-large Charlotte Griffiths believes there might be more to the deal than meets the eye.
‘The deeds aren’t out for another six months,’ she tells the programme.
‘And I just wouldn’t be surprised if Sarah Ferguson’s name wasn’t the only name on the deeds, I shall say no more.’

They have offered William a sense of healing, of unity, of casual normalcy and of an affectionate family's love that he would never have known otherwise.
His children have grandparents who take an active interest & role in their life. In an interview he once said he wished his Dad visited his grandchildren more often. You could hear the longing in his voice. That's just not who Charles is. Am I giving you a better picture of what I mean?

As long as the money which was donated goes to charities, then maybe it will be ok. There are so many people in need of help and support. These charities should be transparent and the money should be monitored strictly.
The donation they are talking about happened nearly a decade ago now (2013 or 2015, can't remember exactly) and the police, charities commission AND the banks all investigated and the money given ALL went to the charity. Problem is, in some countries you give money in bags/suitcases because that IS THE CUSTOM. And you need to follow customs or offend those you are dealing with. The money went to a decent charity and helped a lot of people.
"We" wouldn't necessarily rather see the "younger and more glamorous ones." I wish the press and media would value older people.

I know some people in the UK are not happy about the fact they have to support the royals..But.. They are a BIG part of what makes the country so unique! One of a kind really. The money paid to support the royals (and the taxpayers ONLY pay for their security) would have to be paid if you had a president. Plus a lot more expenses that currently come out of the royals OWN PURSES but which would then have to be funded by the taxpayers themselves (and I can imagine the screams of dismay at that as well). And your head of state never causes issues like ours does (once himself and far more recently and more embarrassingly, his wife).

It will proclaim him as the most popular man on earth, with everyone waiting with held breath over each word that he thinks is intelligent. It will attest to how admired he is across the globe (😂🤣😆). The shocking attack on Sir Salman Rushdie has, once again, highlighted how intolerance of free speech and alternative opinions can lead to fundamentalism, dictatorship and violence by extremists. My thoughts are with Sir Rushdie. People and governments are quite rightly condemning this shocking incident, but there is irony that the same Governments (and 'big tech') that are condemning this are actively working to deny their own citizens free speech. As an example, can H&M not see that their actions are a form of censorship that attempts to deny others their rights to free speech e.g contacting papers/news stations to deny others their rights to express an opinion, telling 'their truths' in order to change reality, constant lawsuits that use their privelege and wealth to browbeat others, not condemning their abusive and aggressive followers that target their family and people with a different opinion. The fact that the Government and some media/organisations are actively trying to suppress views that are different to their own/don't tow the party line denies people their legal right of free speech. We should encourage free speech, open debate, different opinions, transparency, truth and integrity and not give in to any type of insidious ideology/fundamentalism - whether it be 'left' or 'right'.
The attacker was USAmerican born and bred (California) so he knew all about freedom of speech and opinion. You might say he expressed his views as well (no time for Rushdie but equally nobody deserves to be stabbed). Much more to the point, given there was a death sentence out on his life where was the protection - police, private, - because it was something waiting to happen.
It has also exposed the appalling racism of the area, many interviewed gave the opinion that ''they don't want that sort of person here'' and ''you never know what sort of person is moving in'' and very clearly intimating that the attacker was a foreigner. Well he WASN'T, he was a USAMERICAN BORN AND BRED, from California.
Kate is so glamorous and REAL.

Both "Revenge" and "Harry's memoir" effect Harry the most and only him that worries and loses. I don't think his wife even cares at all and at the end of the day her life will go on while Harry be stuck with the past, depression and no where to go. If he writes a book after living on his own over 10 years, the book might be worth to read.

I think charities like the Princes Trust ARE charities that the country needs. I also think the charity for Dumfries House was also a charity the LOCAL AREA needed and if it wasn't for Charles then neither of them would have been thought of, let alone got off the ground. The same with Earthshot, another charity doing great work on a WORLDWIDE basis and there isn't another one out there like it.
And please lay off Fergie. She has been working hard for years writing books to earn the money to pay off her debts. She hasn't been sitting around doing nothing and taking money from others, and now that she has found success - including film or television deal for one of the books - all you can do is denigrate her and cast aspersions.
