The Akai MPC software comes with over a Gig of drum samples. The expansions on the Akai website contains hundreds of genre specific drums samples. I HAVE SO MANY DRUMS..what am I going to do with this? "cricket sounds"... Something is better than nothing and I'm thankful for that. Thanks Akai. I didn’t use the DrumSynth but since the update I’ve been getting error messages when I’m trying to save a project and I saw some other people on different posts saying they are having the same issues, have you heard anything about that as of yet? I’m scared to try working on another beat because of that! Lol .

I use the mpc touch currently and have not been able to install the 2.8 software at all. It either crashes or it works without the touchscreen working. Do you think this 2.9 update may work better or is it going to be that the farther the updates move along the more likely it will not work? I really want to use the new software stuck on 1.9.6 because I never installed any if the 2 series updates. Might be an excuse to buy a new MPC huh?
Try 2.9 it seems to be working well, but most importantly go to DisplayLink.com and download the latest version and install it. The version included in the 2.8 install was broken
I have a video reviewing a few MPC stands, and it has them all in the description bro! I ended up keeping and using all 3, lol. I am working on a beginner's course, but it probably won't be available until 2021. I'm working on it though! 💯💯💯🤜💥🤛
It’s great, but the UI needs a lot of work. The fact you can’t select the drum with a pad is a glaring omission, plus muting/fx etc, should be on the main page, not tucked at the end of the drum selection tabs. That giant picture of the drum wastes so much screen real estate that could be used for the aforementioned shortcuts and more. Feels a bit unfinished, but hey, they are good with the updates, so hopefully they’ll listen to the user base and tweak it. Also, the sounds could do with a bit of work. Not massively impressed with the 808/909 hats. The snares and bass drums are better, though.
Any know if the arranger mode update is ever comping to the new MPC line? I'm thinking more Akai Force units need to be sold first before that actually happens. Right now I'm looking at both MPC LIVE 2 (retro) and the Force... But use Ableton as well and if the MPC had a arranger mode I would only rock that with Ableton. Because, I will still need Ableton for full production. Interested to see what other instruments they bring out over time for these machines.

Hello Bro ! on the Sakai download page there is no firmware 2.9 for the MPC LIVE 2. When i update froze the official web site it is still the 2.8.1 that is available and i don't know where to go and what to do to update my MPC LIVE 2 please help me. Best Regards
Sign into your account, hit "Account" tab, you should see "Registered Products". Click on the picture of Live 2 and below you should see all available updates.
I mean.... we've been stacking drums for decades, so I don't think we boom bap guys need it, but I think for creating a low end thump on a dusty kick it can be a great tool. Don't personally think I will use it much... but I would rather have it than not.
@@xmadman19x I would say if you've got a couple bucks laying around and have a computer grab a 2nd hand MPC Touch or Studio (Silver or Black versions). If you want to go standalone without a computer, check out the MPC One link in my description. They have them for like $80 a month. All the MPC videos I do work on all of them. Also check out my FB group MPC Gang. A lot of dope cats making beats and helping each other out.

It's trash.. it should have been an fx plugin that we could use on the percussion we already have sampled or that we have in expansions. We should be able to import our own drums into it instead of using the drums akai already gave us in the vault, vault 2 and the 909 plug in. smh..
Daaaaaamn! Tell em how you really feel! 🤣🤣🤣 We do have the same tools with the Air Fx though. I use the Air Lofi, compressor, channel strip, reverb, pitch shift on my sampled drums all the time. I think this just brought them into one space. I would love to import samples into it as well though so I feel u.
@@labandlegacy lol.. those are the same drums in the vault 1 and 2 expansion pack just with those fx that we already have.. see we have this fx already.. it's like iphone..they give you the same thing just packeged different. Don't get it misunderstood.. I love akai products and I live by them, but they remind me of pioneer dj priducts.. they don't listen to the consumer and then they cry when they wind up being behind the curb. The 808 glide is nice for those who couldnt figure out to use the knob for tuning on write mode after placing your 808s in the sequence.
What do you mean? The MPC Live has long been able to put fx on imported samples. Are you saying you would want a single multi effects plug-in? Or different effects that aren’t already available? I feel like they’ve got most of the bases already covered and this drum synth is a nice addition because pitch shifting can start to sound bad after 5 or 10 semitones.
@@ausgas I definitely want a multi effect plug in.. But I don't want to be able to only use it on specific drums.. I want to be able to use it on drum samples, packs.. My issue is that is only on the drums in the drum synth
@@noramoss I see. Yeah that could be useful just to have everything on one screen. I’d like to have a guitar multi fx plugin too with amp sim, overdrive, phaser/flanger, delay, and reverb. Maybe they can just add the ability to make custom multifx strips and add 4-8 effects with only the knobs you want to control shown on the screen. Like if you have a standard reverb setting you like, it could just show you the wet/dry knob instead of all the parameters you won’t need in a performance. Edit: now that I think about it, they may have a way of doing that with the Q links.

Absolutely. It's coming. They just added it to the Force so I think they're letting that unit shine for a little bit before they bring it over.
They might be holding out on that arranger that would kinda be the icing on the cake all we would kinda need after that is more bug fixes.

Reset preferences after the update and unplug the mpc for a few minutes before powering it back on
