- Hello all!
Do you have a low or lowered vehicle that you'd like to be able to work on quick and easily, but your ramps are too big?!?
I needed a set of low profile ramps for this car, the ones I had were TOO steep to get the car onto!
Found a couple of useful videos (linked below) and decided to give it a go myself!
Total supplies needed were (x3) 2x8x8 boards, and a set of hinges and a set of hook and eye latches.
All in all I'm less than $50 into these ramps which is already cheaper than the pre-made Rhino brand ones I show at the beginning!
I hope you enjoy the video, and feel free to leave a comment down below to let me know what you think, I really appreciate those!
And be sure to visit the links to help those guys out as well!

What I do like about it is the fact that if you are on concrete, as you drive upon them they won't move. With other ramps, I have to sometimes put backer boards behind the ramp so they don't move forward. Nice job.
Great point!
There is a fix for that. Run a piece rope about 2ft long from the leading edge. Front wheel cars will pull the ramp to car and they will not slide.
My vette is lower than this guys. I addressed that issue by using 1"plywood for a bottom board. Once you drive on that 1" plywood - that got my car 1"off the ground to help with clearance, AND once the car's weight is on the 1" plywood, the ramps won't move because the car's weight is on the ramp already. :)
@@scottb6194 Is this how you do it, or did you just read that somewhere?
Great video
if nothing else I loved the animations!
Glad you enjoyed those!
If you went wider wood, why do you need jack stands. Wouldnt it be stable enough if just lifting front?
You can leave it on the ramps no problem if doing things that don’t require the wheels to come off. Oil changes, etc…. But the jack stands are for wheel off repairs.
Hope that helps!
