An absolute classic anthology. I think my favourite moment is when Roy Castle is crouched in the bushes, and every time the camera cuts back to him, an extra guy has popped up behind him.
That is a hilarious moment, he’s so unaware and the comedic value is brilliant.
Well, I love this film because I actually saw it on the big screen in 1965/66 in Tanzania as a kid. Cinemas in Africa were a tad lax on control of customers, though this one was probably a 'PG' rated film. Great fun indeed for a 6 or 7 year old boy! I have a great blu-ray and have not/will not be jumping to 4K, but I'm glad they did this film proud anyway.
That must have been one hell of a cinema trip!
@@manvfilm Yep! 😜
My favorite Amicus anthology film, and probably my third favorite all time behind Creepshow (1982) and Trick r Treat (2007), this release was even better than I thought it would be, all the previous releases had very bad A/V, it's a great year to be a VinSyn subscriber.
I wonder if VS will release any other Amicus films
@@manvfilm more than likely they picked up more than one title, I hope the next is Tales from the Crypt
Decent film 🎥 love the end 👌🏻
My wife and I watched this the other day and had a blast with it. I've heard mixed reactions to it. But I thought it was a lot of fun.
I think the amicus anthology films are great. If you haven’t seen the other ones definitely check them out, especially Asylum
@@manvfilm yes, Asylum is great. I need to watch it again. It's been a while.
My favourite Amicus Anthology is Tales from the Crypt 1972 especially the Santa Claus first story, but enjoy Dr Terrors House of horrors too.
I’m pretty sure the first one I saw was Asylum and it’s been my favourite ever since
I really loved this movie. I think the voodoo story was my least favorite but it was still good. Great classic actors in this. I will revisit this often
I’m right with you, voodoo is my favourite as well
I have this in the Amicus coffin boxset, the Blu Ray Steel book, is it worth upgrading?
I have a love hate relationship with 4K, I like it when the previous versions have been less than stellar but I hate it when I can’t see a difference. I’ve only seen this on streaming and an old dvd. It looked far superior to that, but then I don’t know what the Blu was like
I have love this movie for a very long time And I was so excited when Vinegar Syndrome put it out on 4k! Definitely an amazing release looks great for me overall just so great. I am a huge fan of Amicus as well and a massive Anthology fan 🩵 as for your question There are so many great amicus anthology for me like asylum, from Beyond the grave, the house that dripped blood ... for me my absolute favorites would be Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror , but definitely love them all! I even love amicus more than Hammer I know that's crazy don't get me wrong I love Hammer as well.
just had ark of the cannibal sun god and killer nun with slip new releases on shameless . the beast in the cellar and shock waves and gator 88 films due next week
"Dr Terror's House of Horror" is my favourite anthology. Where else will you see Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Alan Freeman, Roy Castle, Michael Gough and Donald Sutherland all in one film? I love the silly title, I love the wrap around train journey tale, it's my comfort food film, it's a film I like to watch again and again. I never liked the follow up; "Torture Garden", too americanised and just a bit dull. It's the only one of the Amicus anthologies I really dislike
