- Anti-short bushings are insulating components used in electrical systems to prevent short circuits. They are typically made of insulating materials like plastic or rubber and are designed to cover exposed electrical conductors or terminals to prevent accidental contact with other conductive surfaces or objects.
These bushings help maintain electrical safety by creating a barrier between live electrical components and surrounding materials or conductors, reducing the risk of short circuits, electrical shocks, and other hazardous situations.
Anti-short bushings are commonly used in various electrical applications such as electrical panels, junction boxes, wiring systems, and electrical appliances to ensure proper insulation and prevent electrical accidents.

Totally agree! The NEC is the “minimum” set of electrical rules that must be followed for compliance and assurances that occupancies are safe from potential electrical hazards…It never hurts to do more than the minimum!! Keep up the good work!
I appreciate your comment thank you for watching have a great day
I worked on a hotel in Arizona 20+ years ago. The boss said, "Don't use the anti-shorts. That connector is listed for use without them." I used the anti-shorts anyways. When they started flipping breakers, we had lots of shorts on the connectors without anti-shorts. The extra effort was well worth it.
I so much agree... Its such a small price to pay. And in the long run as you learned it could save you from backtracking. Thanks for watching and commenting ☺
Yes bushings are very important. Here in nyc we use bx and mc religiously and sometimes the wire gets nicked where u cut the bx to expose the wire and the bushing protects it from being nicked and tripping. Also when it trips it’s annoying cuz now u gotta pull more bx and strip the bx again and it’s just wasted time.
AMEN I fully agree use them
@@MountaineerOutdoorshey man just started watching ur content and I’m a big fan of it. Love the way u explain it like u say ‘without 1,000 dollar words’ haha. Question on the conduit offset. Do u have a chart for how to multiply on each degree??
Yes I also have videos explaining each bend from 10 degrees to 60 degrees. I appreciate your comment and watching. If you need me to send you a picture of the bends email me.
Not code but I see your point but you bowed down to the E.I. Just to please him. As a E.I I would have not red tagged you, I live on both sides of the fence,
Yeah I'm so much more vocal now than I was when I was on that job and know the code too. I agree with your comment. Thank you for your comment and watching ☺
how long dose it take to put on its not that they are expensive for that extra safety i use them
Agreed
I use electrical tape when I don’t have any red eyes
No comment...
👍
Only babies and whimps use red-eyes :-} Why not use them? 'Cuz my wee-wee is bigger. I'd say "Don't read comments. People are idiots."
