Alissa’s lyrics and vocals add so much depth and texture to Arch Enemy. There really aren’t too many metal vocalists that posses the ability to create such a variety of sounds with the speed and rhythmic complexity to match. I was sad when she left the Agonist but glad she seems happier now and has found her niche pushing AE to new limits
Will to Power is just such an amazing name for a metal album... I mean, if Nietzsche was alive today, he would probably be a metalhead.

Alissa is a superior vocalist in so many ways. She pulls off a female James Hetfield really well. Her cleans are good and her growls are really polished.

i miss typical melodic passage but Jeff is great!.. His solo is the best part of the song by far!..
I can´t wait to hear Jeff on Alissa's next job.. it can be an amazing alliance because i think both are very technically limited in AE.. Alissa has a very broad vocal range from clean voices to guttural, and Jeff has an impressive technical prowess!
I hope they do a proper project. But yeah, AE brings money so they need to keep the band rollin'

U know, to me its arch enemy, alisa and loomis. Its not only arch enemy, because i still cant believe that a single band has the amot bros, jeff and alisa in theyr comp.
The race. Once upon a time there were several groups of "human" animals. Each group was similar in appearance as for the other animals. There was no enemy in the group and they all had the same value. The females were all beautiful, there were no ugly females. Love Alissa's voice on this one, her growls are fucking great. And it has a nice thrashy feel. I prefer this over Alissa's stuff in the Agonist. Haters are always gonna hate and ask why isn't Loomis playing more solos, but I think he has already produced plenty of quality guitar material in his solo albums and work with Nevermore, so just let him be.

I agree... i guess AE hired Loomis only because he is a real famous guitarist in metal scene
He has no impact on the sognwriting of the band... The songs are the same before and after he entered the band
The only thing better are the solos cause in 10 seconds Loomis can destroy all the guitar work Amott does in the rest of the song
I hope they pay him a lot for doing nothing just to stay on stage cold and bored (for Loomis playing songs like that must be easy like drinking a glass of water)

@@zrock08 I think that whenever AE gets a new member, he doesn't let them experiment until the album after the member's debut. Like when Angela came in on Wages of Sin, he stuck to the music they had done on Liiva's albums, and on War Eternal, he kept the screamed vocal style with Alissa, but on this one he let her contribute her clean vocals to multiple songs and experiment with different styles of death metal. If the pattern continues, he'll let Jeff open up a bit more on the next album.

Loomis has great songwriting talent too but AE are not using it
Loomis in AE plays ona 6 strings instead of his signature 7 strings
This means that AE is paying him just to put his name on the albums to say
"hey we have Alissa and Jeff come to listten us!"
I feel bad that Arch Enemy stole her away. It helps her financially. But now that I listen to Agonist, they "blow the boots" off of Arch Enemy. I think with their more technical guitar playing, they could have become bigger than Arch Enemy with enough time. I'll miss alissa's clean vocals
