Susan Hayword was long overdue for an Oscar. Her bravura performance in "I Want to Live" finally gave her the Oscar she so much deserved!
She was one of my favorite actresses. She was terrific in "My Foolish Heart".
Have you seen a little known movie released in 1951 called “I Can Get It For You Wholesale”? Susan Hayward is, as usual, fabulous. It’s set in the New York garment district with a fast moving script with actors who, with the exception of George Sanders, are all native New Yorkers. It’s available on CZcams and well worth watching if you want to catch another sterling performance from Susan Hayward. I agree with your picks but wonder if you wouldn’t consider putting “I Can Get It For You Wholesale” on your list or at least in the honorable mention category after viewing it, if you haven’t already.
I love her for so many reasons -
I discovered her in Tulsa, and then in Rawhide (1951), an excellent western where her flamboyance mesmerized me.
I loved her so gorgeous my favorite film I want to live one of the greatest actresses ever❤

I heard an anecdote detailing how, after her screen test for Scarlett, a Hollywood insider told Hayward she showed little promise and should go back to New York, whereupon the staunch Susan replied, "I like oranges- I'm staying." I prefer Hayward in her earlier roles, but agree she is perfectly cast in her Oscar-winning role.

Susan was fantastic. She made it look easy. Even in movies that were a mess, like I Thank a Fool, she was great.
Not the way I'd rank her films but an interesting lineup. Love Susan! Linda Darnell is my favorite all-time actress but Susan is probably second tied with Ida Lupino.
Glad to see both The Lusty Men and The President's Lady on your list! Both are huge favorites of mine. As much as I love With a Song in My Heart and think she's terrific in the film I would have rather seen her snag a nomination that year for Lusty Men. I think it's one of her very best performances along with what I think is Bob Mitchum's best performance because the film and their roles calls for so much subtlety which both deliver (as does Arthur Kennedy).
One film that you didn't mention that would rate very close to the top for me is 1946's Deadline at Dawn. Love it's snappy dialog, great cast and its noirish cinematography and Susan couldn't be tougher, at least for about 3/4 of the running time.
Along with Vivien Leigh my mother's favourite actress. As a baby I sat on her lap and watched many Susan Hayward films. Thank you for beautifully compiling them here. My favourite performance is actually Irene in House of Strangers. It just feels like a summary of all her good acting skills with nothing extra. Her chemistry with Richard Conte is the best, they bring out the best in each other

Watt Baby Face with Barbara Stanwick it's when she was real young and this movie is very racy for the time!
