There is a technical service bulletin issued from Nissan (TSB NTB17-082a) that indicates that it is the O ring on the cannister vent valve that leaks. No need to replace the valve, just the O ring. I know this is too late for you, but it might help somebody else. The new part you installed obviously had a new O ring on it.
Yeah check engine lights suck but I did find that bluedriver I bought and did the video on helps diagnose alot of the checkclights and brings you right to Amazon for the parts it's so cool and handy! Hopefully you can figure out what's wrong with you car! Thanks again!👍😊
@@WhitehouseFarmVet nice. i'll ck that out. i just bought a scanner bc i want to see what happens after i make repairs. the mechanics were unable to sort it bc the car wouldn't die in front of them. now i'm armed and ready when it happens next. thanks for all you share.
Thanks for this video! My p0455 code has been going on and off for years. Changed gas cap today, gonna do this part with your wonderful tutorial tomorrow and see what happens
FYI. For me I had to push down on the top of the electrical connector for it to release. Looking at the new part it looks like the piece on top of the electrical connector needs to be lifted up. (There's a nub on top of the part.) All other videos I have seen EXCEPT one was fixed with replacing this part or gas cap. The other video needed to replace the fuel pump. If you have a P0456 error, hope for vent valve or gas cap.
After replacing this piece the back of my 2011 Altima has started buzzing and the code sadly came back on as of today. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get this code cleared for a smog for my tags. I don't know what to do anymore
Buzzing? I wonder if you got a faulty part? How long or how many miles did you drive before your check engine light came back on, and is that when the Buzzing sound started??
Thanks for the video. Did the MIL light come back? You just climbed up on ramps with the rear wheels to have access? For the 2012 Armada there's a Vapor Canister Purge Valve and also Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid, they look similar, confused.
Yes its easy to get to from the back, Normally its the solenoid they fail all the time, start there if you are not able to diagnose which part, if that doesn't work obviously Replace the valve as well, these systems are junk too bad we couldn't just delete them and not have a check engine light on! Thanks for watching and good luck 👍
Hey I was curious if this is my problem since I have the same code or is it the purge pcv valve that’s under the hood and above the engine in the front near the evaporative system?? I was driving my vehicle Saturday and when I turned out on the street after riding for about 3 secs, it stopped in the middle of the street and I also noticed how I smelled gas.
@@WhitehouseFarmVet I never got a new gas cap but did get the valve cover gasket changed two weeks ago and that code came up along with getting a new ecm
@@cameronmorgan0203very common issue was the Fuel pump connector. Check it out by unplugging the connector and inspecting for any Burn marks. If it has even the smallest burn marks its bad. Hope this helps 👍🏽
@@WhitehouseFarmVet The canister is where the part twists into on this car. We just replaced the vent valve. Not sure if it is fixed yet as the driver is out driving it.
Anytime! They are really easy to replace just remember if the check light is still on disconnect the battery or use a scan tool to reset! Thank you for watching and good luck!👍😁
You're welcome, I got real lucky because my part is in the engine compartment right next to the spark plug on the driver side so I just live up the hood and it's sitting right there alongside. And thanks again for making videos I try to do a lot of information videos as well so I'm going to do one for the Nissan Armada SE so people know where that one is located.
Yeah pain in the butt this actually cleared mine up though after buying a gas cap etc this finally worked! Hopefully works on yours ! Thank you for watching!👍😊
Hopefully that is the issue it's very common! Also you might need to clear your check light if it doesn't do it automatically and drive it for a while and Hopefully it doesn't come back on. If it does come back on then we will move onto the next step! Good luck buddy and let me know how it works out!!👍

i'm trying to work through a p1320 code on my 2000 sentra but the gas cap didn't fix it. i'm glad it worked for you!

Is the valve location underneath the car by the gas tank?
Yes rear driver side!

Could be did you already change out the gas cap and purge vent valve? Those are the 2 most common reasons for the p0456 code!
