  • Here's a nice, unique Oud/Rose combo from V Canto. AS you might expect of a perfume based on the daughter of a 15th Century family known for their poisons, it's pretty dark, but also darkly pretty. And a bit sexy.

If it’s not too much trouble, I’d love to see some more of your sampling videos when you find the time! 🥰

Beautifully made review! You are spot on comparing it to 540. I really do not enjoy 540 and find it crude and unsophisticated. Mandragola is a bit more complex. It has gothic vibes to me. I bought it because of its name and the story. But I was hoping to find more dark herbs similar to Artemisia or Patchouli to make it more mystical. Instead, it is a crowd pleasing oud-rose combo with saffron which makes it similar to 540. I would take it apart, removing saffron, adding nutmeg, and more licorice from Artemisia also perhaps adding labdanum. I think it would make it more intriguing and bewitching. Also the "V" in the name is a Roman Numeral "5", so the brand name is pronounced "Quinto Canto", I learned. Cheers!

I might not wear this, BUT I always enjoy how you describe fragrances. I'm sorry the last part of the fragrance smells depressing. 😂
    Another solid review 👍

Thank you Yve! Although this one is pretty dark, I think it's actually quite easy to like! Definitely give it a go if you ever get the chance and then us all know what you think 🙃

Interesting about the lime in the mid. There are a few scents with geranium in the mid that I sometimes mistaken for a subtle lime, but this one sounds like the real deal. A superbly detailed review Ben. You've got me thinking about lepers going on dates now. 😂 Would they get past the handshake? Maybe do the hokey-pokey.

Brilliant. Love the packaging the whole concept. I feel like I've heard of this line. Are they all based on different poisons? If so would you care to follow others in the line? Ben thank you for another great review of a unique fragrance to check out. Peace.

It really is a cool concept isn't it? I like the concepts for a lot of the Tiziana Terenzi stuff, they seem like they drive in their own late a lot, which is cool. That's definitely the line, right! I'd love to get my hands on more, but the cost is so steep on them, sadly. I have a couple of decants that I need to wear and I have a decant of a more gourmand one from a different line that I also enjoy, so I'll do reviews on them soon too. Thanks a lot!

It is actually Quinto Canto ( it means the fifth canto) inspired by Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy
