It’s the Colt Blue Dome on the armory in, as you said, Hartford, CT.
Colt has never gone out of business (not counting Sam Colt's early years). They've been in and out of bankruptcy multiple times, but they never closed their doors. They did move out of their original Hartford plant and moved to West Hartford, but gun companies change addresses all the time.
The CZ 40 was made by CZ for colt in 1998 ,the building in the 100 anversary 1911 is the colt factory tower in Hartfort Connecticut. cheers!
Gorgeous handguns…… WOW! Thanks for the rescue mission……..the 1911/2011 commemorative was spectacular.
Yes it was but I don't think those pristine blue inner boxes should have been laid so carelessly on that hard chair floor guard. They can wear very easily.
That Colt Commenritive 1911 cal.45 is absolutely gorgeous!!!! I wish I could afford it!!! I'd buy it in a half a heart beat!!!!
I have a Smith mod 15 pre = Combat master 1953 new 5 screw with gold box , it also has 6 inch on it , and it also has correct serial number to the gun . Great videos 👍👍👍
Pre 27, also known as the registered magnum, the dome is the Colt factory Blue dome.
thanks for sharing this. these are some beautiful examples here
Very Cool Presentation. Thank you. "You da man!" (Yes, Hartford Dome)
My wife would like to talk to you about the 17 minute quicky.... 😂
That Colt CZ 40 was from when CZ and Colt collaborated on a '1911' grip angle 40 S&W.
. . . . and Colt stiffed them on the deal and cancelled production. The irony when CZ came back some time later as the new owner must have been delicious.
Fantastic collection..great prices for what they are especially the colt 1911s..thank you for sharing..amazing
Tom that's the dome of the Colt factory on the slide!!! and always interested in a Colt but not at those prices!! on the python you could get neoprene grips from the factory!!!
At 11:22 on the engraving that is the dome of the Colt factory in Hartford. Very recognizable to a Colt fan.
As a friend of the channel I recommend avoiding prices in the video. I've heard of less getting strikes.
Your right
All beautiful... my goodness!!!
Very nice stuff Tom… But you know that these things are made for one thing only. I carried a S/W model 15 (1981-1984), and a Sig/Sauer P226 (1985-2000) on the streets and used both in combat many times. The moral of the story is training and keeping your weapon clean and lubricated. It will not fail you….
I was issued the Smith model 65 when I first hit the streets in 1982. Carried a PPk and Bulldog.44 with Glazer safety slugs as backups . Oh yea, don't forget the Colt .22 auto I carried in my shirt pocket as a last resort. You know how rookies are! We later of course transitioned to the Glock model 22 in the 90s. I do remember when we shot suspects with the .357 the threat was stopped cold. The .40 caliber was a different story. In 1999 one of my officers shot a machete wielding suspect 8 times center mass, and finally fell after lunging some 30 ft and succumbed right at the officer's feet.
@@wesmcgee1648 The 125 grain Remington load in .357 Magnum was a great round.
The .40 180 grain load was okay. The 165 grain HST was a good fight stopper.
@@wesmcgee1648 The .357 Magnum did inspire confidence, and those shot with it tended to stay shot!
I like and respect your carrying back up guns, far quicker than a reload and always readily accessible with either hand.
Jim Carillo preferred carrying multiple guns to reloading under fire and it certainly worked well for him and his partner.
I've read of many instances in which having back up guns determined the difference between going home or a ride to the Coroner's Office...
Awesome video. Love the content
The paperwork has Newington Gun Exchange on it, because that is the shop that handles Colt Employee FFLs when a Colt Employee purchases a Factory gun.
So a Colt Employee getting a factory gun still has to have it go through a normal process with a 4473. Newington Gun Exchange does that for Colt.
I have 4 colt pythons ,2targets 1is nickel finish, love them and have 3model s/w27 great revolver
How does one go about buying one of the firearms in this video? I looked on the website but could not find that USMC marked Colt.
...the ICONIC blue dome
..I might add
REALLY NICE GUNS
The best thank you.
OMG 😍. My mouth is watering.
Love it!!!
The cap and ball revolvers were "Mad for Coly by Uberti" So, it has a Colt label, but not sure I would call it a real Colt. But that's just me.
That's what I've read as well. I think Colt may have done the finishing work on Uberti parts.
All absolutely perfect.
I purchased back in 1996 a Colt Anaconda .44 mag 6inch stainless revolver for $420 and now I can’t believe the price, too bad I sold it years ago😩
Forgotten Weapons has a viedo on #1 & 2 of the Z-Colts . So this one is # 6.
Wonder if will have any future value?
Cool guns wish I could bought most all of them.
I think the last S&W 357 Magnum for sure is a model 28 Highway Patrolman.
Except it ls a 44.
I own a model 28 that is mint and will never sell it. The new S&W revolvers suck in comparison.
@@richb.4374
The newer smiths are pale in comparison.
The USMC 45A1 is about a grand underpriced. This guy doesn't know what he has.
The Smith in the video is marked 44 on the crane.
@@thefrogking481 are pale in comparison. I've never heard someone say it that way
I hate to tell you, but that is incorrect. It is a Model 27-2 like Tom said. If you look closely at the video when he opens the cylinder, you can actually see where it is stamped 27-2. Nice revolver BTW.
I did buy the Cold M45 A1 and gave it to my Son it will be a safe Queen , I forgot about That Gun because it is not used I know the price i payed New was Much less Than $ 2300.00 Dollars .
Colt blue dome, makes sense. At first, I thought it was representative of Onion dome churches in Swabia or Eastern Orthodox.
Dang. I sure ran into this video too late.
Those prices are crazy.
...That's the blue dome in the Hartford factory...
I bought a python new around 1986 and it had the black grips.
I inherited a 1990s king cobra 6” stainless from my grandmother. She had bought it to keep in their camper for when they wintered in Arizona. It had only been shot 18 times (rounds). Thought about the value once but I couldn’t sell grandma’s 357 and I’ve no children to inherit it so…. I shoot the wheels off it and take it hunting.
The Colt Python ist the best revolver in 4 inch but the Preis today ist so expensive i has Look ne New for 1700 $ but not in America. And now Looks very expensive Like the Germany korth finely both r the best, and all of your weapons Looks very good and the best condition, i enjoy looking thanks u 😍💎🥇👍🌹
Colt never went out of business. They were bought by CZ. There still in west Hartford Ct. still making guns.
WOW!!!
You can also buy new colts at your local gun store.
Colt Hartford and New Park went down the toilet in 84'.Been there.seen it.
As one person stated "What a goldmine"!
Whilst I don't really have much interest in the 1911, a couple of the models you showed were gorgeous.
It was the Colt revolvers that captured my attention, specifically the first two, but if I was going to buy a Colt wheelgun it wouldn't be one of their newly manufactured ones!
I had a Trooper Mk 111 back in the 70s. I could bust milk jugs with it at 100 yds all day long. Man what a gold mine. I'd buy em all if I could.
I really wish I wasn’t saving all my spare pennies to help some people who desperately need it because that model 27 is identical....down to the pattern of the wood on the grips...to my Dad’s pistol he always cussed and wouldn’t let me shoot as a kid. Instead, the 7” barreled model 27 he owned, in his mind, was better for a 10 year old. It was so barrel heavy I was all over the place, and when I got older and stronger in the wrists, both guns were were in my top 5 favorite revolvers in his substantial revolver collection. He sold them both without telling me before he died and I was heartbroken. That’s one of the finest .357 magnum revolvers ever made in my opinion. They simply don’t make revolvers like they did up until the early 1980’s. You have to buy a Korth or a couple other European boutique revolver companies or have a modern revolver completely reworked by a custom gunsmith to achieve the kind of fit and finish and quality that Smith & Wesson and Dan Wesson and Colt used to put into their guns. If only I could turn back time to when a Colt Python cost $400 brand new and have the knowledge of what they sell for today.
That matte finished 1911 with the gold and high polish parts looks a little wonky.
Whoa...that's the Colt Factory Dome. You can see the Rampant Colt on the top. C'mon....
...that the blue dome on the original colt facvtoy...
It's an A-1with a straight main spring housing. Not authentic, is it? The building is sacred ground for Colt lovers.
Minutes 10:05: It is not a 1911A1, It is a 1991A1. Usually an económic versión of the series 80, but this one is a conmemorative piece.
Is that USMC M45A1 available still to buy?
Sorry. It sold
@@thomaswhiteman4261 if you come across another one I’ll buy it!
Bring us more post 1945 stuff on camera please.
apart from the CZ copy, this is all an obsolete construct
Can you ship to the UK? 🤢
NOPE ! Not sure you can own a knife.
@@LegacyCollectibles I know. Its awful. Even though I'm ex military 15 years and a contractor of a decade!! I was issued an m21 assault rifle when I worked for your army. That was okie dokie lol they're beautiful machinery mate. Nice guns. Real history.
The nearest we can get to these type of weapons in not so merry England is the pause button.
beautiful colts especially 1911.. sadly the company died...
I originally from Stratford, CT and I brought Original Colt Military M-1911made in 1917 for $325.00 in 1986. I do not believe selling Colt Firearms in a loosing money game like stock market and bid coins.
😍😍😍
The camera work was making me dizzy, literally
And you trust a new Colt or Smith?
🤛😁👍🏴☠
😳
Colt dome
WOW I wish I could own one of the beautiful ones, but only criminals are allowed to have guns in Sweden
Colt went out of business....when?
The Dome is the Islamic Dome on the Colt Factory itself.
I don't hate Colt's but I always thought they were overrated and too pricey for what you get.
I do too do too but the top ones but the troopers and lawmans are as solid as a S&W
I own several Colts, carried my LW Commanders last of the run in 1994 but I wouldnt pay what they want for those Colts today, they are over priced for what they are.
Pretty sure that python came with rubber grips - my anaconda did
Love your videos chap. We're not allowed firearms in the UK due to our female population being neurotic and ugly.
So I get my fix watching your vids, thanks.
J
Die they put GPS in the Pistole to See würde to Find and to follow 🤓
If those things are from the New Park Avenue plant i wouldnt give you 200 dollars for them.Grew up in Hartford and West Hartford factories,Garbage.100 year old machines.Garbage since 1960.Ya.I know.
Label your videos right, revolvers are not pistols
Of course they are. The U.S. Army ordered "pistols" from various manufacturers in the Civil War ... long before semiautomatic handguns were even conceived. So when they ordered pistols, they HAD to be revolvers.
@@garypulliam3740 atf legal definition of a pistol includes the language that the firing chamber is a part of or permanently attached to the barrel. It seems weird that a blackpowder single shot handgun meets the definition of a pistol but a Smith &Wesson 686 .357 mag does not
@@tracyhaynes5404 So the ATF is your go-to? You just lost any credibility you might have had. 🤣
@@garypulliam3740 not a go to at all, but their legal definitions are what we have to abide by as much as I don't like it. Try getting caught without proper paperwork for a nfa item and tell the judge how you feel that the atf has no credibility or authority and see where that gets you. Until we get fed up enough to exercise the 2nd amendment for the reasons the founders of our nation gave it to us this is what we have to deal with, like it or not
@@tracyhaynes5404 That's not the point, son. The point is revolvers have been called pistols since the beginning of time, since before the ATF was even a thing, and since way before you were born. So if someone calls a revolver a pistol, they don't need you to correct them. It IS a pistol.
Way over priced guns that one would never shoot anyway.
CZ is much better Guns than Colt , The S&W 686 is much better The ruger Red Hawk is mush better than the anaconda i Shoot my Guns Can't afford guns to sit in the safe ? I can buy an original Python cheaper than $ 3100.00 Dollars shame .
None of those guns have the history, rarity, or collectability in the United States Colt has hence the price tag all those guns are good but none of them are worth more collector wise.
You sir are a funny guy
