I had a big alcohol problem last year had a very hard year and it helped numb the pain. I found it in myself to stop and I don’t drink as much now every now and then I will but it’s so helpful to see honesty in your story and I’m grateful that you were willing to share with us ❤️

Stay encouraged my friend! One thing to mention here as well is that we all we fall at some point, but it is the manner in which we rise from that fall that will impact and echo long after. So continue to rise well my friend like the Phoenix!

I’m proud of you for being honest with us (your subscribers). A lot of people wouldn’t want to be honest like this, and it’s nice to see that you don’t want to pretend to be perfect like other youtubers. Thank you Daniel. Much love from Tennessee 😘😘😘

Hey, Daniel, if you have someone in your life who INSISTS on you getting ripped out of your mind, then maybe get a better friend who wants you to stay sober. Just because there is booze doesn’t mean you MUST drink, and I know in the UK and all over Europe there is a large social and cultural tradition around beer and booze, and that can be a difficult obstacle to overcome. I am glad you are sober and I am so, SO proud of the positivity you have found in your life. Keep creating, man! You got this! 🤘🤘

I love how honest you are in all of your videos but this one definitely hits home with me. I am married and went out to a friends one night about a year ago, and drank pretty heavily, dont remember much after getting to her place except changing. I found out later the next night what I had done and said none of which I had remembered. After that I dont drink much liquor at all and if I do I am with my husband. I have known my friend for over 20 years and almost lost her nd her mother whom I love and adore. So I definitely know how much alcohol can affect loss of friends and family, as they are such close friends they are considered family. As you may know sometimes friends are more like family than some family members actually are. Luckily those friends that are considered my family realized that what I had said and did was because of alcohol and have forgiven me and did not lose them. I want to thank you Daniel for your raw emotion and truthfulness, I love your honesty and love you and your videos. I wish you happiness in your relationship and love your accent. 😍😘

I completely understand! My issue is drinking too much (which isn't a lot) and I wake up wondering what happened the night before. Scary stuff!

As a child of alcoholics and the wife of an alcoholic, I see the struggles they all face. My husband goes from reasonable to good time guy to pushing everyone away. It can be hurtful at times. In my 43 years, I have found that loving these people requires a certain level of understanding. They are in pain that they dare not vocalize and that even when their lashing out sounds personal, it isn't. It has taken me decades to get where I am, mentally but the journey has been and continues to be worth it. I'm stronger because of my journey.
You, Daniel, and anyone else admitting to struggling with one demon or another (or several), are incredibly brave. You are strong, you are worthy of love, and you have something amazing to share with this world (even if you don't know what that is yet). ❤ to you all.

Thanks so much for sharing your story with all of us. Just like me and all the rest of us, I am sure we have stories and confessions that we are too embarrassed or ashamed to tell. You make it so that it's okay, to be honest with people and with yourself and it's okay to ask for help and to forgive others and yourself as well. Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us as well over the years and just know that I love and adore you so very much and I look up to you regardless as a role model for you are inspirational in your own right.

I'm so proud of you for being able to admit this to yourself. I think in this day and age alcoholism is almost normalized. I know a lot of people who think they need it to have a good time, be social and get out of their shell. I have periods, more so as I get older, that i just don't want to drink. I still go to the bars to see my friends and live music, but I'll drink water or ginger ale. The bonus is no hangover in the morning!

Daniel, honesty shouldn't push people away. If it does, then they're not your friends. True friends want to help you lift yourself out of what can harm you. You're not alone. Many years ago, after my oldest 2 were born, I suffered post partum depression and nearly killed myself with a mixture of alcohol and other things. Fortunately I pulled through, I may have a glass of wine once in a blue moon, but I no longer drink much any more. So you're not alone my dear 😘. Big hugs

Thank you. People do need to understand that it does ruin relationships. My father was alcoholic and ended up being estranged from almost everyone due to his drinking and he died at a relatively young age from liver disease. I wish you the best of luck.

This video speaks volumes to me. Long story ahead but i truly hope you read it all. My husband has a struggle with alcohol. It was always an issue in our lives because i had an alcoholic father that life was really hard with (i will leave that at that, he actually died from it) i begged my husband to stop drinking. But he never would. At one point he compromised and settled to just a couple every night after work. A couple turned into a 12 pack or more every other night. Eventually i got him to be sober. He got sober after his bachelor party took a terrible turn and i almost called off the wedding. He was sober from may until the end of december. His best friend (who also struggled with alcohol but lost his marriage and lifetime career due to it) ended up killing himself days after christmas. Then my husband starting drinking again. More heavily this time. He finally admitted he had a problem when i told him its alcohol or our family (we have kids together) he said "i know now that i have a real problem because you are saying i either stop drinking or lose my wife and children and all i want is another drink" since then he hasnt touched a drop. I dont drink at all so theres no temptation in our home. I may not know you in real life but I am proud of you for realizing the way you can be and trying to avoid it. It takes a lot to get to that point.

I used to drink pretty heavily and it never made a positive difference in my life. The confidence wasn’t real, and I would always make little mistakes or say things I didn’t mean. I’ve been completely sober for a few years now on and off, and it has really changed my life. It’s hard but if you’re on that track keep going. It gets easier.

Thank you for being so honest and open. I know it wasn’t easy to share this but thank you for sharing your story. I felt so pulled to this video and your story. I can relate so much. I know from personal experience with my dad the damage alcohol can do. Thankfully he is now 24 years sober. Change is possible. I know it will help so many people. Me included. Wishing you nothing but the best and continued success in your sobriety.
