Students and their parents have every right to expect that any book offered there contains age-appropriate content.

The problem is people used LGBTQ people as a shield, and it was never about empathy for them, it was about political gain, and they had to ride it out because of that. It's nothing against or about LGBTQ people, it's about keeping this stuff out of schools. There's plenty other places one can go too, including the internet to learn about sexuality, but in a public school, you shouldn't be learning about this stuff. Especially at younger ages when kids and teens are very susceptible to influence.

I can't find the books on any social media platforms to do my own research & to make up my own mind,but for the life of me I can't find them. It's almost like the books/literature of the ones in question are not allowed for public viewing/reading. Why is that?

I just tried to search for a few of those pages again now in order to reference them - and it is next to impossible to see them. A couple of images had the sex acts blurred out.

These books violate public indecency and pornography distribution laws.
It's child grooming, plain and simple.
The solution is simple - just create a book section for library books requiring parental guidance. Books in this section can only be checked out by parents for their kids after parents read the reviews or check out and read the book themselves, or base their decision on feedback of other parents. Of course this does not address mandatory reading.

Why not open up the administration to similar content with subscriptions to various magazines so they could be equally tolerant and culturally aware as the children. I think we should all supply them with manuals and books and products that are discussed in the quality literature they expose the kids to.
There’s only one book that is inappropriate for anyone in middle school and under, and that’s Push or many people know it as Precious. Lovely bones is a good book, shows young adults what to look out for in predators. Eleanor and Park, Red White and Royal Blue, This book is gay and All boys don’t wear Blue are good books I’d say for 7th grade and up. That’s around the time when teenagers start puberty and developing crushes and/or questioning their sexuality. As someone who grew up in a Christian household and has questioned there sexuality, my mom made sure to TEACH me these things when at the right age so I don’t go out into the world and doing it the wrong way. If you don’t teach your kids they’re going to go out into the world confused and reading, watching and even asking questions that should be talked about at home. Now idk why most of these parents think that the schools have been showing them extremely inappropriate stuff when all of that is absolutely ILLEGAL and has rarely happened. And when it has happened said teachers were fired immediately. Ik where I went to school they did not teach these things and if were talked about it was never inappropriate. I definitely believe that it shouldn’t be taught in a elementary school for example, but at a certain age, especially around middle school your kids are going read these kinds of books. It’s nobody’s fault but your own if they are reading inappropriate books if you didn’t teach them what is and isn’t appropriate to read or watch.
Don't like a book that's in the school library, just opt out for your kids. You're not allowed to make that choice, to ban a book in the library of a public institution, for another parent's kids, regardless of your moral or religious views. That's as it should be. Doesn't matter if it's one, ten, twenty, or twenty thousand of you wanting it banned. Not your kid, not your business. Simple.

Let me say this to all parents and ask yourself if your child whose knowledge with iPhone and computers are way to advanced if books are your number one concern because of being inappropriate due to its illustrations or content. Well I bet your kids have googled hundreds of inappropriate sites with videos more explicit are being watched by your kids. Have you tried Twitter look again because if your issue is with books and not wanting your child around it your parental watch is a failure for you to even speak yet alone critique a country you weren't even born with when I your country honor killing is widely acceptable in your society. So rather than fixing an issue in how another country wishes to bring a topic that is tolerated, acceptable and brings to a solution to understand what in America is an openness to understanding and evolving to adapting issues to the forefront and accept unity not divisiveness is what we stand for here if it's not to your likings than you have the right to place your child to another school on how you feel is on the best interest

Ok, I've read Red White & Royal Blue. It's a good book, but not YA by any stretch of the imagination. It includes multiple graphic sex scenes. I'd say it's for 16+. Definitely not middle school reading material.
You can get the book and show it to your own children if that's what you choose but you can't unsee things forced upon you
a book in a library isn't forced on anyone. Kids have to seek it out. If you think an underpaid librarian in a school is spending time pushing these books on kids, well, you're not too bright. As stated, kids have better things to do. If they go get a book from the library and actually read it, it's not a bad thing. But don't try to spin some crap about books being pushed on kids. It's not a required read for English class, it's in a library. There is no "forced on you" involved. That's about as bright as saying CRT is being taught to elementary school kids when you don't even know what CRT is. Age appropriate content should just be exactly that no extra. I think it’s safe to say that school libraries are massively smaller than public libraries so it’s a lot easier to find content especially if a student sees that his peers is reading that book I remember being in school with my friends looking through the dictionary for bad words, because that was what we were doing at the time, but ultimately nobody can ever explain to me how come the parents just can’t do it and leave it out of the schools. You can tell a child is hurt by vision. The child has a bruise or black eye or broken arm. The clue is visual. How can you tell the effect of a book on a child? Are you some kind of sorcerer? Is the problem the effect the targeted book has on YOU? Everything points to a fear of education. Does your child watch action or horror movies?

This is ridiculous. Children should be able to explore and learn, no matter the topic. If we don’t give children the options to explore at an early age they will be exposed or experience these obstacles later in life in a harsher way. Leading to depression, anxiety, identity issues, and much more. As I watched the board meeting I was disgusted. Being apart of the queer community and a young adult seeing the reaction of these parents leaves me with no hope for these poor kids to grow up in a safe environment if they discover they are queer down the road. Get ahold of these parents, if they don’t like it they can go to another school but the queer community isn’t going anywhere and is only going to be more prevalent.
