    • @z_monty
      @z_monty Před 3 lety +2

      It's hypothesized that the formation of Saturn prevented Jupiter from completing its journey to the centre of the Solar System, effectively drifting into the Sun. This is according to the theory that Jupiter drifted towards the Sun during the early formation of what we consider to be our solar system. I've gone off on a bit of a tangent but what I originally meant to say was that you can like em both equally, as they (possibly) worked together to get to their current positions, relatively far away from the sun.

It isn't the only planet with rings, but it is the only one with such amazingly visible rings that look super smooth. Wow, with the storms on Saturn the pattern it produces reminds me of Vincent Van Gogh's paintings

    Seeing Saturn through a good telescope is both breathtaking and humbling. We are lucky to have such amazing diversity of planets in our system. Though a superearth-like planet would be cool to have nearby.
