Weisst ja, bin ja seit letzten Sept. mein eigener Boss, also habe ich irgendwie meine "eigenen Arbeitszeiten."

I follow Richards account and well, a while ago he was also posting, that he could not really cry until around 2021 and it would fit as well. I watched that too and I had to grow up similar. Well, I did not cry, because it would have been used "against me", because they (my parents) would continue to hurt me. It was like, that they took a pleasures out of my crying, so there was a time, when I stopped. Now I am 42 and I still hardly show my tears. If I feel in this way, I always cry alone secretly.
With Till it seams like, he made his peace with them, maybe even could forgive them at some stage, which I am not sure, if I ever could do it.
      Enjoy your evening. ❤️

It breaks my heart that boys are told they cannot cry and show their emotions. Hello from Germany! Yes, you don't always have to like and love your mother! I've hated my mother since I was a child. She drove my father to his death and I had to see it. On Christmas Eve 1965, when I was 3 years old, he sat at the kitchen table in front of me and shot himself in the head. I still have that memory to this day! Since I look very much like my father, she always made me feel that. She always wanted to decide which woman is good for me and what I can and cannot do. I broke contact a long time ago and that was the best thing I could do! Since then I've been happy and have a great life! I hate the sentence: "But it's your mother," if she died of thirst, I wouldn't give him a glass of water! She's still alive and her brothers and sisters don't like her either! Sometimes that's how life is! As always, a great reaction! I like your channel, keep it up! Greetings Nephilim

It is hard when you realise that you have been keeping your tears inside to protect your kids, not showing your own emotions to “protect” them from sadness. This song reminds me that children shouldn’t be held back from their emotions or even their parents’ emotions. Kids need to see that their big example, because thats what you are to them, also has emotions and it is nothing to be ashamed of. Great dong and great reaction. Thank you so much

Dear Domenica. As a daughter (obviously), but also as mother of a son, the same questions and emotions hit me. I found myself in tears and putting myself on trial. Something I believe we (mothers) are very harsh on ourselves. At times, merciless.
André I always enjoy your pure soul. It's a Virtue not many have the courage to show.
The topics of the song is once more a taboo in our society. And Rammstein wouldn't be Rammstein, if they didn't take to an even more uncomfortable place. Incest between a mother and son.
That's why I feel so close to their music. A lot of time the topics being displayed are not cozy or sweet. They talk about the depths of the human soul. But in the end they are honest and don't polish anything.
    With love from Germany

A topic that is really hardly talked about in society. And on a similar level it is also addressed in the song. Clear indications: definitely. Evidence: rather not. But that's often the case and that's why it fits so well, imo. But maybe I'm interpreting too much. For comparison "Wiener Blut" or "Mein Teil". It becomes clearer there. In the end, that's what makes the music so interesting for many people, myself included. Commonly a lot of room for interpretation, but sometimes very clear.

This song hit me hard too. I haven't heard it for a long time and I didn't think that it would move me so much again today. I should have known better. I also had tears in my eyes again.🥲For me a very, very powerful title. The exaggeratedly masculine singing of the chorus is a typical false bottom (is that how you say it in English, I don't know) from Rammstein. Just like the line "You should be ashamed of yourself" - one can refer to both. That the mother said it in real terms and as a speech to the mother. Very clever and so well used "tool". But who am I explaining this to?

  • @fionadowdeswell-simmons4968

Never apologise for showing emotions please. Too often we hide how we feel, how things affect us and it isn't good for us. The older I get, the easier the tears flow in certain situations. The mother that Till songs about is so like my own mother that it's painful. For this reason, I became the polar opposite of my mother. My son knows he's loved. He knows that there are times when I don't like him very much, but he can never doubt that I love him. Our own experiences shape our attitudes, emotions and outlook. You're both beautiful people.

Rammstein/Till takes an interesting perspective on domestic violence here. A topic that is still omnipresent. Especially in the time of Corona Lockdowns, the number of domestic assaults increased. Here, the violence emanates from the mother. She has "driven her husband out of the world". So he didn't just leave the house, he committed suicide because of the constant violence he couldn't handle. The relationship with her son is also characterized by violence (forcing him onto her lap) and sexual abuse (he helps her out as best he can).
The song leaves me with so many questions. How did the mother become this way? Is there a happy ending for her child?
Actually, I would expect a third stanza that clarifies the situation, but here we are left only with the feeling that it goes on and on.

Rammstein has this strange power of evoking the strongest feelings one can have because the lyrics are at tem same time raw and direct but also symbolic enough to feel universal. They also bring themes like distress, shame, life, death, relation with our parents, pain, hunger, love… and those things, whereas well comprehended by us now as adults, for us all somehow traumatised by them due to how heavy they are to our psique. And when listening to their songs you feel disarmed because the feelings you “re-live” come from a much earlier time when we were most vulnerable and defenceless against - our childhood. This is the “Rammstein effect” I guess. Part this of course is due to German being so symbolic and meaningful language but don’t get me wrong, the power is composition this band holds is to no compare.

Rammstein show you your own innermost thoughts, fears and hopes, expressed in a way that you cannot look away or unhear.
    Life .... Unfiltered.
Immense on so many levels and the true use of music and lyrics.

Love your emotional reacting. I think that this song is telling about the absence of love between a parent to his child. And that is often the case ... unfortunaly. Love to their children is so important to the world. Love is that one big thing, that rules the humanity. Without love everything is only cold material.
I really love that Rammstein talks about the important things, that most don't wanna talk about.

The song makes me emotional every time. It makes me even sadder that there are currently serious accusations against Till. I hope so much that this all ends well.

I hope so too and I heard, that she was making a video and was Richards assistant already hugging very wild. A 24 years old who wants to be clearly in spotlight. At the English page, I was watching something about her, it seems like, she started already to dig her whole. Hopefully it is deep enough, so she never comes up again. Also Till's Ex was already coming forward.

    Hello you two,
I want to thank you for being so open and honest with the public, and therefore vulnerable.
It takes tremendous courage to do this. Who does that today in the "Influenzer" world. No world is rosy pink, besides a lot of light there is also a lot of shadow. It is exactly what Rammstein points out again and again and holds up a mirror to us, which fears we face or rather suppress. Rammstein was a long time ago my trailblazer with these "lies" to stop and finally open your eyes, even in front of the mirror. The band is very controversial and provocative and is therefore rejected by many or heard only superficially as background music. Not was Dominika. I'm glad that Andrei could convince you once really listen, although he also did not know at that time what he is getting into.
I love your development because it was my own. And I am convinced that if all people in this world could open up to themselves and to others and be honest, there would be much less violence and wars. You just have to turn on your head.
    Thank you

As a a rural German myself that song hits hard because its so common among rural Germans. seeing some Foreigners react to it is interesting, so thanks for that.
I'm pretty sure Till Lindemann was talking about his Family growing up, since this was very common, the Mother being the abusive and violent one and of course the age old German Cultural Comment about how Men should only cry if their mother died, still common today and the Reason i never cried at any Funeral in my Life as to not appear weak towards my Mother and others.
So yeah, a very common German Issue in this Song that def wil hit Germans more than others

This album is fantastic and yes it has a mature feeling as they are older. I felt really sad listening to this track, I think they all went unveiling their traumas, such a heavy and cathartic experience: how many man experience this and society expects them to never show their sadness. 😢 They truly hit that deep sad feelings!

It is doubtful that this song has anything to do with Till's mother. She was not only very supportive of all his artistic endeavours but also a great influence on his worldview. She was herself an artist and teacher as was his father. He was very lucky to have had such amazing parents.
