About The Long Ballad (长歌行):
The year is 626 C.E, and the realm, and its political center Chang’an, are shaken to its core by the Xuanwu Gate Incident, a successful palace coup to take charge of the Tang Dynasty.
A scheming prince leads the bloody coup, and kills the family of Li Chang Ge (Dilraba Dilmurat) during the raid, although she manages to escape.
Now the prince has placed himself on the Imperial throne, and rules as the Emperor Tai Zong.
Li Chang Ge has her mind firmly set on revenge - and musters a powerful army intent on overthrowing the new Emperor.
But her plans are thrown into disarray when she suffers an unexpected defeat against the armies of the Eastern Turkic Khaganate. The victorious General, Ashi Na Sun (Leo Wu), decides to keep her in his service, making her his military strategist as he looks to pursue his own military goals.
The duo forms a formidable military partnership. And over time, she finds herself falling for her captor - as he also starts developing feelings for her.
But what will become of Li Chang Ge’s quest for vengeance as she continues to serve at the General’s side?
This drama was based on a popular manhua by artist Xia Da.

I really like her roles where she is both fierce and gentle. It may seem like a contradiction but I think therein lies the i power of a woman - she can harness a strength that can be relied on but not deny her feminine side that seeks to care. 😉

Ahhh I really really really have to come here and write these messages out. At first, I didn’t expect much from this series. It’s not my favorite genre. I was there because I like the main Actor and Actress. I was there to watch their faces. BUT. I. STAYED. FOR. THE. PLOT!!!! I really am happy that I checked this out and watched it. All actor/actress are really really really good at carrying their own roles. Like every. single. one. on. this. show. I’m so impressed on their acting skill. And I’m very impressed the writer who created this story. They plotted out very well. I’m currently at episode 37 right now and I feel sad already cause I don’t know what to watch next!! I feel like I can rewatch this over and over. 🥺♥️

I have the same problem! Wu Lei is the standard for me in terms of acting and looks in a male lead, especially when it comes to historical dramas with good action/battle sequences. Every time I watch a C-drama that isn't his, I can't help feeling a bit disappointed he's not in it.

Dilraba action was very very very amazing... I watched her dramas already... But this drama was very different.... The leo wu was very young and talented actor... He was really awesome...... Actually I checked everywhere about the ending of the manhwa and it's not even finished plus both leads are still alive so I think it's unknown what kind of ending it will have plus the second female lead is not part of the manhwa either so also her ending is unknown. I really hope it's a happy ending ❤️

I am very disappointed and know that many fans of the series feel just like me. I think it's been one of the best productions of the year. But avoiding the kissing scenes of the main characters has been the most inmotivating thing. You'd better have let the show run without romance and not have to take away the most anticipated moment. The romance-free script was already very good on its own.
According to what I understood, the male lead is too young and apparently the Chinese audience who have seen him find it shocking to see him kiss the lead actress who is 8 years older than him.
Why do people care so much about kissing scenes? Ashile Sun and Li Changge rocked my world. They're my favorite c-drama CP. Best duo. Their relationship is just beautiful and awesome to behold. It speaks so, so much more than any shallow kissing scene would have done for them.
