I appreciate that he compiled a thorough introductory list and did such a complete review of salary expectations. I am curious of where he got his numbers and where he is. It is also important to note that some companies start at a different scale. For example, the software engineer applying to support a local hardware company’s website may get paid much less than a Meta SE entry level hire with a $50k sign-on bonus.

I just finished a manual qa course. Is there enough of a space for manual software testers or do companies depend on software developers to do their own testing or just outsource this role overseas? I want to break into tech, but I don't know any code and I did some sql for a homework assignment. What do you recommend?

    • @ShiftToTechWithReg

Manual QA is a fantastic job! In fact, I started my tech career in that position. czcams.com/video/ekZOTCYdQm4/video.html
You don't need coding for QA, though it is helpful to know it. Companies outsource many roles, for many different reasons. But thats not a reason to push forward on a QA track if you're interested in that space.

Most of these aren't really "entry-level" jobs, and most will be hard to get into without a degree (and certifications in some cases, especially cybersecurity). There are some areas within cybersecurity that easier to break into than analyst (SOC analyst, etc) jobs, like GRC -- Governance, Risk, and Compliance -- because it's not _quite_ so technical, usually.

I was looking in the tech field. 1. Most ask for mid-senior level.
    2. Most want someone for example: in ux/ui design, to know management, web designing some even ask for software development skill. How am i supposed to get an entry level when they have such demands?

Some jobs requirements can be a bit unrealistic. If I were you, I'd focus on developing T shaped skills. That might mean you're speciality is UX/UI, but you have some broad skills across front-end web development. Thats the way to break into tech.

Go up to any of these and tell someone with 1-2 years of experience if they're 'in demand" and they'll laugh at you. If you've got 5-10 years of experience sure, you're in demand. If you have little experience you're basically treated like dog and unwanted. The story of tech.
