    Milo/Henry - Though your swing philosophy (rotational golfleticim) and everything makes so much sense, I think the difficulty in execution is that the rotational swing makes the club (especially longer clubs) feel stuck way behind in the transition, and so the post-up leg wants to jump up or extension of hips happening to get the club through the impact zone... so is this simply a strength issue to get the club to get through to impact and release or should we be slowing down the rotation/swing to time it better (without ending up over tightening grip)

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  Pƙed 3 lety +3

      If your wrist and arm structure is correct the timing is controlled by physics. If you’re feeling the need to jump you need to find the root problem the jump is an effect of something else being off.

    Great video as usual. Could you and Henry give your opinions about swinging on plane. For many years it was heavily taught that you need to have the club shaft on plane throughout the entire swing relative to the target line. Just curious what you guys think of this theory and whether it is good to practice it or do something different.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  Pƙed 3 lety +1

    Pure Gold, but the real question is how do you continue the rotation before the "push". Tempting to say it is the rotational torque between the lead and trail leg, as too early onto the lead will stall the rotation. Material for a part2 video?

    Hey Milo, with your method of downswing where you feel like your arms and hands stay behind you and you let them get speed from your body rotation, are there any concerns with them getting too far back behind your body and causing bad contact with pushes and slices?

    The lock out of the lead. leg through impact has to occur only when the left knee is right over the left foot. The knee can only flex and extend. It cannot rotate. If your left knee. moves a little, towards the right. on the. backswing, it must return to a position right over the left foot before you extend the knee .
    If your left knee moves. out over the left foot in the backswing( not to the right), the knee can extend ( post up) without the repositioning as described above.

    I have arthritis in my left knee and when pivoting aggressively with the hips and the external rotation of the left knee, the left foot sort of stops the pivot at some point because it is planted and doesn't always want to spin. This torque effect is sort of rough on the knee. Do you have any modification suggestions?

If I shorten the trail side, on recentering, and leave it up until I fully shift, it makes the turn easier... but I am 69!

    What about that "left foot" pop up and twist business that I see almost all big hitters doing, these days?
    I know that means rocking back your CG and manipulating the bottom of the swing with a "lift up".
    Any pro can do that with a loss of reliability. Ideal for the new gen of long, fat sloppy course tournaments.

  • @DASH1ful
    @DASH1ful Pƙed 3 lety

    the left leg doesn't post up until the left leg has straightened. for one simple reason: the head doesn't move up until the leg has straightened. the head may look up but it doesn't raise its position. obviously, there is no conscious, or unconscious, effort to straighten the leg; but it is the left pelvis that posts up the leg. the dynamic that straightens the left leg, thru the hitting area, is the same dynamic that increases left knee flex, in the backswing. but, the body, or the leg, or the hip play no part in posting up. the left chest may rotate in the downswing but it function is as an antagonistic opposite to the left arm. this increases the swing coil in the start of the downswing. any conscious effort to rotate the chest, or the hip, would dismantle the swing coil.

  • @quantumpotential7639
    @quantumpotential7639 Pƙed 2 lety

    This is a wonderful segment. Seems like working legs in the gym would be essential golf swing training, especially the quads, glutes, and hams for building a powerful post up which drives the lower body towards the ground; the bye product being a rock solid pillar to build centrifugal force around.
    I think this is 50% of the golf swing. You master this move, and the other 50%, then you've pretty much mastered the golf swing. 50% + 50% = 100%.
    This video will likely be banned soon because now that you've made it so simple, and cracked the code, then the golf club manufacturers, professional teachers, swing aid makers, etc are gonna throw a fit and try to censor you guys for making this video.
    Now let us pray 🙏.

    Milo. Grate instruction as usual. One piece of advice. The average golfer has no clue what the hell your both talking about. Why don’t you bring some Junior golfers, and golfers of different h/caps. That would let the average golfer see and hear how you communicate your coaching on to the student. Your content is more for the better player’s and coaches.
