      Think of it as an adventure. learning new foods, new tastes. It will put some more spark into your food and make you want to try new, healthier things. I'm going on 11 yrs being a T2 diabetic. My A1C has gone from 14.1 upon diagnosis to 6.6 with diet and exercise. Still working at it, but it's worth the journey.

      Small steps my friend! You don't have to overhaul everything - that's so overwhelming. Start small! Maybe it's adding extra veggies to your meals for a week, or getting in some kind of exercise for 10 minutes a day and then building up from there. You can do this, I promise. And I'm here for ya if you need encouragement.

    I love that you're becoming a health coach. I feel like most dietitians naturally have genetics that predispose them to be relatively thin. So even if they've struggled with eating disorders, they don't know what it's like to have society look at their bodies and assume they are unhealthy just because they're fat, whether or not that's true. So it's amazing to see a healthcoach with your life experience.

    I don't have diabetes, but I have found that having a small portion of simple carbs really just makes a meal feel worth eating purely in terms of taste. I love eating shrimp with bell peppers and red onion, but I am gonna need a small portion of sushi rice to give me that taste satisfaction that makes me enjoy the meal as a whole.

    I feel you girl, in terms of planning and when your days are more unusual than others. This past week I've been out of my home a lot more than usual, so I've been eating out a lot more because of that and figuring out what meals can keep me full for longer. Some weeks, you know you'll eat less healthy than you did the week before and sometimes, doing that can help keep you on track for the healthier weeks.

    • @TheHangryWoman
      @TheHangryWoman  Před rokem +1

      Yes! This! I really liked doing this video because not every day looks exactly like this. Some weeks I do great and I meal prep on the weekend, and I have everything and order. Some days I can cook every single meal. Other days, like this, are busy and I don't have a plan and just have to do my best putting things together. I really wanted to show the most chaotic, non-perfect day because it's life!

      @@TheHangryWoman Totally! Yesterday, I took a day off from work after winning a lottery to be part of the Daily Show audience. So knowing I'd have to leave my apartment around 11 and that I wouldn't get to eat between 1:30pm and 6:30pm if not even later, I did get a mushroom cheeseburger and mashed potatoes at a diner near the studio because I needed to feel satisfied for a long while without snacks.

      Thanks so much for the comment on the burnout video! I’m glad it resonated.
      Monin has my favorite sugar-free syrups and their hazelnut one is incredible- tastes like the real thing and no weird aftertaste. The only drawback is the bottle is kind of big, so you really have to like the flavor you’re getting 😂. Their syrups don’t spike me much, and 1-2 teaspoons is all I need to add some sweetness. 💕

    I’m in the beginning stages of type 2- insulin resistance. I’d suggest alotn ore protein for a number of reasons- satiety, muscle repair, etc. Also, less processed stuff bc I’ve noticed anything processed or fast food will spike my blood sugar- if I make it myself i might spike but it’s not as bad. My biggest vice is coffee- darn it, wish I could be satisfied with a plain tea. I’ve also noticed building muscle and fasting really are both so helpful many diabetics are afraid to fast for some reason

    Thanks so much for this video. I’ve recently been diagnosed with type two diabetes, and while I’m doing well the initial jolt of adrenaline of making changes is wearing off and I’m beginning to feel a little discouraged and your video definitely helped. You are fabulous. I mean that helps but the food choices, and seeing what you eat in there, you eat all that bread and carb gives me a little courage to try that and see how it works for my body. Also, I hope this isn’t a rude question, but can you tell me what bra you were wearing on or what type of undergarment you were wearing with that turquoise dress in the beginning because obviously as you know, busty girls are always looking for that type of support and it looks amazing on you and I just would like to know what it is. Thank you.

      I feel you sis! A lot of my diabetes management has been trial and error to just see what works. And a variety works well for me. I did high protein for breakfast, a carb with a salad for lunch, and then grains and veggies for dinner and I kept pretty steady despite being a little over my personal range!
      And that's not a rude question at all! I was actually braless in the green dress lol, but I LOVE NOOD Bra adhesives when I want to wear something with a weird top, and also CUUP bras. They're a little expensive, but the most comfortable bras I've ever worn in my life!

      But as you can see, my blood sugar handled it well. Don’t forget the 10g of protein and fiber in the grains - it’s not all carb, and I don’t just focus on carbs. That’s a great solution you provided for some extra protein and fiber.
